I love Georgette Heyer books. I don’t even know how many times i’ve read all of her books. I started reading her books when i was in high school & I’m 60 now and still re-reading them. I recommend them to anyone. She is the Grande Dame of Regency Romance. As well as mystery and history.
This book was fun! It took me until I was about halfway through to REALLY get into it, but then I was hooked. Amberley is a fun detective. He’s a lot like Sherlock Holmes. The clues were all there, but I didn’t pick up on them until almost the end! My favorite part was that the aunt had so much of it figured out too. I thought that was a fun twist.
A brilliant glimpse of England and society.

I had never read anything written by Georgette Heyer before, but about a third of the way into this book I was on-line checking to see what else she had written. The description written on the back of the book sums up the book nicely: “Every family has secrets, but the Fountains’ …
