“It’s been an interesting journey as we navigate our relationship in a way we never had a chance to before.”
Well this was quite the introduction to a new author. I had a suspect as to what I was getting into with the synopsis but what I got was a completely different story all together. I had no idea what was going to come from this and I ended up loving it by the end of the book. There were a few moments where I was angry with the way things were turning, but this is REAL life. Things don’t come out clean and easy ever, and this book definitely sticks to that. This isn’t your prettily packaged romance that you are used to. This is raw and uncut, and you will find yourself loving every moment of it by the end.
Allie never imagined this was what her life would turn out to be. When Landon told her goodbye years ago she was devastated but managed to move on. She is successful in her career, has a man that she loves and consider her best friend, and the promise of more great days to come. All of this comes to a ‘crashing’ 360 in the course of one afternoon.
“I can’t see you anymore, Allie.” His words are cold and detached, almost as though he’s talking to a stranger, so different from this morning.
I slump against the rough edge of the tabletop, its sharp corner digging into my spine as I stare mindlessly as the snow slowly builds up on the ground, its beauty now tainted with the quest breaking my heart.
“My predictable life has managed to change directions so abruptly that I feel like everything is about to be overturned.”
Landon never thought he would get a second chance at Allie. He was sure that his life was a pattern he would play on repeat forever, until he literally runs into Allie one afternoon.
“Shut up. I rear-ended her today, she’s coming in tomorrow so I can check out the damage. Seeing her brought back a lot of memories, and now I have my chance to make things right, to fix my mistake.”
“Like my soul recognized its missing piece.”
What unfolds after this afternoon is a story of self-discovery, forgiveness, second chances, and so much more. It will be one you have to chug through the difficult parts to get to that good and happy ending you hope is coming. You will not be disappointed that you have taken the time to read the story of Allie and Landon. I can’t wait to find out what else is out there from Ashley Erin.
“He always needs more time, but when he tilts my head back and brushes his lips across mine, I let it slide. I know they’ve been through a lot together, I just hate this place we’re stuck in. It was never meant to go so far.”

Why Not Me? by Ashley Erin is a great story- a romance with a second chance, love triangle aspect to. It is really well written and captured my attention right from the first chapter. There was a lot of emotion crammed into the story and Ms. Erin’s clever way with her words had me experiencing every one of those emotions along with the characters. Ms. Erin is a new-to-me author and I am surprised that I haven’t discovered her work before now, but I am glad that I finally stumbled on this book and have been introduce to an author whose work I will definitely be reading more of in the future. I have stalked her a little (ok, A lot ) and have found that she has quite a few books to her body of work- which I will enjoy exploring as soon as possible.
Allie Vincent thought she had her life mapped out- a great job, good friends, perfect boyfriend- until ‘he’ comes crashing back into her life after seven years, and turns her neat little world upside down. Old feelings resurface, the past and present smashing together. With these two men comes a difficult decision- what will she chose to do?
A great read!
Thank you, Ashley Erin!
Why not me by Ashley Erin is a 5 Star read!
Ashley Erin weaves an interesting life triangle while maintains her focus on writing good characters. I really enjoyed how well the characters were able to be w Vent into this story. This author gives great details and doesn’t falter in her process. I was truly imporessed. I look forward to more stories from the author
Why Not Me? by Ashley Erin was a wonderful story about getting a second chance with love. This theme is the one I seem to be picking right now. Some have been better than others and this was one of the really good ones.
Allie bounced back after getting her heart crushed by Landon but that doesn’t stop her from thinking about him from time to time over the last seven years. Imagine her surprise when they run into each other.
Their story has its ups and downs, some surprises, laughs and tears but the happy ending makes it all worth it. PeeWee and Blade made me smile every time they showed up.
Ashley Erin is a new to me authors but will make sure I keep an eye out for her in the future.
Why Not Me? is my first book by Ashley Erin. The blurb is what got me to read this book but it was the writing that kept me turning the pages. This was an enjoyable sweet book, far warning if you have a problem with cheating in a book – this might not be the book for you.
Why Not Me? will have you questioning past and present relationships. Wondering if a person from the past came back into your life would it change your present relationship? Allie is caught between two men and has a big decision to make; stay in a friend/roommate relationship or try again with a man that you have amazing chemistry with. I will say that I didn’t see that twist at the ending coming, that could have ruin Allie forever.
Why Not Me? Is a contemporary romance novel by Ashley Erin. It is the story of a young woman named Allie who has been seeing a young man named Landon Taylor for about 9 months. The problem is that Landon has been dating another woman named Melissa while seeing Allie, and he’s promised Allie that he was going to break up with Melissa for the last nine months. On the evening that Landon has promised Allie that this is the night that he intends to break up with Melissa, Allie gets a phone call from Landon telling her that he can’t see her anymore. Allie can’t believe her ears; she’s confused and in shock. When Allie started seeing Landon she so believed him when he said that he would break up with Melissa that she allowed herself to become the other woman, which was something that she swore to herself that she would never do. Allie responds to Landon by saying, “I see then. I guess there’s nothing to say then.” Then Landon says, “Good-bye Allie — I’m sorry.”
The next thing that we know is that it’s now seven years later. Allie is now 27 years old and lives with her boyfriend, Brendan. It’s winter, it’s snowing, and Allie is leaving her office at the end of an exhausting week and she’s finally on her way home. She has sent Brendan a quick text to let him know that she’s on her way home, and he’s sent her a text telling her to be careful driving in the snow. It’s October 25th, seven years since the day that Landon broke up with Allie, and she still feels a hole in her heart concerning the break up; the sadness has never gone away. Allie met Brendan in college, and they have lived in their condo together for two years. Brendan is always there for Allie; he’s her best friend. But Allie feels that something just isn’t right concerning their relationship, and she’s felt this way for over a year. She loves Brendan and would never want to hurt him, but if everything was right with their relationship then why does she still feel so sad on this day, October 25th?
One afternoon after Allie finishes her day of Christmas shopping with her good friends, Dawn and Blake, she leaves to drive home on the slippery, snowy roads. Suddenly Allie’s car is rear-ended, causing her head to slam into the steering wheel. When the driver, who is extremely concerned about Allie’s welfare, gets to her car to see if she’s okay, Allie manages to get out of her car and stand up. Allie can’t believe her eyes! Standing in front of her is Landon! Even though Allie hasn’t seen or heard from Landon in such a long time she still feels her body reacting to him. Landon wants Allie to get checked out by a doctor, but Allie refuses. Landon is now a Physical Therapist and he manages to talk Allie into coming to his office so that he can evaluate her injuries and do therapy as needed the next day. What will happen next? Is Landon still with Melissa?
I really enjoyed this second chance romance novel by Ashley Erin. I was definitely on an emotional roller coaster ride that began in the first chapter of the book, and then didn’t stabilize until the very end of the book. Her characters are strong and interesting, and the storyline is realistic. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a great romance novel.

The first thing the hooked me about the book was the synopsis. It sounded amazing and just the kind of read I’m looking for right now. We meet Allie, who’s heart was broken 7 years ago and never really healed from it. I mean after she went through, who would. Now she’s in a new relationship years later and things are finally looking up until Landon, the one who hurt her, comes back into the picture.
My emotions got the better of me in this book. Yes, the spark is there between Allie and Landon but what about Brendan (the current boyfriend). She was treating him almost the same as she was treated with Landon. There is NO CHEATING in this book if that’s something your worried about but I felt like it was a round robin type of thing.
This book definitely will put your heart in the ringer and teaches us that love isn’t always hearts and roses!
Why Not Me? by Ashley Erin is a romance story that I enjoyed. It has some steamy parts, but for the most part isnt overly graphic scenes, but more feelings of love, loss and seconds chances. The book begins with Allie as she is in love, and happy in her relationship, until it abruptly ends one night without warning. She is crushed and it takes her a long time to accept, get over it and move on. She spends the better part of the next 10 years wondering why, and despite being in a long term relationship, finds herself thinking back to her ex more than she should. She feels guilty, but cant shake the feelings and memories. Then, in a freak accident, her ex, Landon, comes back into her life, and they both soon realize there are lingering feelings on both sides. It seems fate brought them back together for some reason, and they are both viewing this as a second chance, and try to remain friends. Allie is left with one of the hardest decisions of her life. Does she stay with her boyfriend, who is her best friend, amazing, supportive and caring. Or does she give that all up to try to rekindle her relationship with Landon, who broke her heart? It seems like an easy decision, but love can be a confusing thing.

WHY NOT ME is a story that I didn’t think I would like because of the love triangle aspect of it. This was written in a unique way that the situation with the characters makes sense.
This is one of stories that packs a lot of emotion between two covers.
The characters are well developed. The story has a natural flow and I would absolutely read this author again.
Why Not Me? by Ashley Erin is a romance story that is fast paced and is well written. The story is told in dual points of view, which we all know I love because to me it gives so much more depth to any story because you know what the other character is thinking and feeling and to me makes a story more rounded. When dealing with matters of the heart you can’t help who you love but my heart was with Brendan. Lies and secrets, love and betrayal, hurt and redemption, pain and heartbreak are what makes this story so hard to put down, so I read it in one sitting. It is also about finding yourself again and who you truly are.
A beautiful story that will surprise you.
Why Not Me?, by Ashley Erin, is an inspirational romance story. I am a fan of second chance romance stories and the synopsis immediately secured my interest into delving through this book. When life throws you too many choices, how do you decide? The novel was thorough and well developed with characters that were amazing. With the way that the author wrote the story, the details of the feelings, the conflicts, the curiosity, etc. were well written and you could actually feel how those characters felt. Once I finished this story, I honestly wanted to go back and read it again.

I haven’t read anything by this author before so I was really looking forward to getting into this book and overall I really enjoyed it. I thought that Ashley Erin’s writing style was really engaging and the story had a real life feel about it. It didn’t take me long to become wrapped up in the story and the characters’ lives. Now I’m not one for love triangles, cheating etc. but the blurb for the book sounded interesting so I thought I would give it a go. I really did feel for Allie, she thought that everything was perfect until Landon crashed back into her life. I really could feel the turmoil that she was going through whilst trying to decide what she wanted and I think the author did a great job in conveying this to me as a reader.
I thought that this book was well written, had a great pace and flow to it and had some great depth of emotion to the storyline. I would absolutely recommend and would love to read more by this author in the future.
Why Not Me? by Ashley Erin
Why Not Me? by Ashley Erin is a wonderful second chance romance. Even more than that, it has a love triangle going on to.
Allie Vincent is happy with her life. She has a great job and a fantastic boyfriend who she’s been with for six years. There’s just one thing holding her back. Seven years ago Allie was ‘the other woman’ in her relationship with Landon. She was gutted when he chose to stay with his girlfriend, instead of leaving her to be with Allie.
Now 7 years on and Landon comes back into Allie’s life and turns her happy life upside down. Although she loves her boyfriend, she’s never got over Landon. She’s always wondered why Landon broke it off with her suddenly and chose to stay with his girlfriend.
This book had me gripped from start to finish. A definite page turner. It was filled with so much angst. Allie had a great life but was torn by the feelings that she had for Landon. The connection between them was so strong. Could she give up what she had in order to have a second chance with Landon? The author did a fantastic job of describing the torment that Allie went through.
This is the first book that I have read by this author and I certainly will read more from them in the future. If you like reading an angsty romance then this is the book for you.
Why Not Me is the first book I have read by Ashley Erin. I was intrigued by the synopsis and decided to take a chance on the story and the writer and I am happy I did. It is a beautifully crafted story of second chances (and love triangle).
Why Not Me is the story of Allie, Landon and Brandon. The story begins with Allie’s heart being broken and her life shattered by Landon and now, after seven years, when Allie has found stability and has a neat life with Brandon … she gets caught up between her past and her present … The reality is though that she has never forgotten Landon and yes, he still makes her heart race and … Allie needs to find her true self, find out what she really wants, will she choose safety and comfort or will she take a risk and forgive and experience what her relationship with Landon could have become …
I loved how the story was told from different points of views; it added a layer and depth to what the characters were going through and helped us to understand more their struggles. Also, there were couple of other great characters that added to the story so in the end you really felt as if you were part of their journey and you simply had to keep your fingers crossed for the best outcome possible!
I am pretty sure that this will not be the only book I will ever read by Ashley Erin!
Why Not me? by Ashley Erin is a story about second chances at romance and life. Why Not Me tells the story of Allie. She had her heartbroken and is trying to move forward with her life. Landon broke her heart. He comes back in her life and wants a second chance. Allie has moved on. She does not think she can look back after everything she has been through. Will Allie give Landon a second chance?
Ashley Erin has a way with her words. She keeps you engaged and turning the page to see what will happen next in Allie’s life. Her characters were well developed and easy to connect with. I highly recommend Why Not Me? a great story about giving someone a second chance.

Why Not Me? Is a very emotional read about a love triangle and second chances by Ashley Erin. This is the first book I have read by this author, but definitely won’t be the last. Although, my emotions were all over the place with this book, I loved every minute of it. Allie is an amazingly strong woman, who had a great first love who after an abrupt ending, still has strong feelings for Landon. She has moved on after his long ago break up. Allie met Brendan and they fell in love over six years, then al of a sudden Landon comes back into her life, what follows is an amazing and agonizing story. The emotions had me up all night finishing this book. I just couldn’t put it down until I found out just who she chose. This book is a must read. I highly recommend.
Why Not Me is a second chance romance with a little love triangle thrown into the mix. The author of this fantastic romance is Ashley Erin. This is the first time I have read this author’s work, and it was a real treat to read how it all unfolded.
Allie had it all. The boyfriend, the career and the lifestyle. Her orderly life gets thrown upside down when the man who broke her heart returns. She is torn and has quite the battle in front of her. It was thoroughly exciting to learn what was to happen with these characters.
The way the story evolved was attention grabbing, electrifying and steadily paced. Things rolled on effortlessly and I never felt the author was racing to get a reader to the finish line, which made the reading experience more enjoyable. A novel to savor. This story ticks all those sweet spine tingling boxes. 5 stars.
Why Not Me? By Ashley Erin is a cute second chance romance story with a spin. The story itself was one that you want to finish right away yet you don’t want to finish it because you want to savor everything it has to offer. Why Not Me? Hit quite a few emotions with me and I admit I cried a little. Allie is a smart, talented, woman but she knows something is missing from her life. She’s content and she genuinely loves her boyfriend but she knows something is missing. And she now’s exactly what, and who is missing from her life. But after many years can she make that leap, can she forgive and move on, putting her relationship and her comfort in jeopardy. As you follow Allies life and get to know her, her friends, boyfriend and then there’s Landon. The one who’s missing. Who’s timing is never right. Until it is…

I loved this story! It kinda involves a love triangle. I was so wishy washy while reading. One minute hoping she would stay and the next min thinking she needs to leave. Crazy! This was an emotional read for me. I feel this could happen so easily in real life. I thought this was nicely done. It doesn’t have a lot of “flashbacks”. Just the right about to learn about Their previous relationship. I really wish I could have hated Brandon just to make it easier. But he is such a nice guy! How could anyone dislike him. Now Landon….Landon I could dislike his nineteen year old self. Landon is in for an eye opening! Being on the other side and being the one wishing. I loved the gift he gave her along with some good advice. With Landon we get to meet his brothers. I love Landon’s brothers! They give him so much crap! I would almost think this is a group of girls not boys. The teasing about moping around or pretty much anything else. So funny!
This is my first book by this author. The story was so good! It slowed along and I was sucked in and could hardly put the book down. I couldn’t wait to see how things were going to play out. The characters had much growth and the author surprised me with the near ending. I wondered if it would go a different way. Why not me is an age old question. This book explores it nicely…..from both sides of the fence.
