“Talk about an emotional roller coaster, these authors know how to deliver a freaking gut punch! The emotions and words are full of heart and angst and is just so raw and gritty. ” -Ga Books LoverX“This story broke me. Then made me whole. I’ve been waiting for the conclusion to Remy and Aimee for what feels like forever.” -Becca, Goodreads Reviewer“S. Moose and C.A. Harms have such an impact with … such an impact with each and every word they deliver that you will literally feel them in your soul. They mend it and put it back together, but you won’t be the person you were before you read this book. You won’t be that person ever again. Remy and Aimee will forever be stitched into your being, your soul.” -Book Addict Confessional
“Y’all get your tissues ready! I fell in love with Remy and felt so connected to Aimee. They truly brought the characters to life and they for sure brought all the feels! Definitely give this five stars and all the heart eyes for these authors.” -Kelbie, Goodreads Reviewer
No matter how hard you try to put your past behind you, it always manages to catch up with you and make you question your decisions. Those unexpected events that leave you feeling as though there’s nowhere to turn, nothing can change the outcome.
Aimee’s life hasn’t always been easy. She made a choice a long time ago to make a difference. She wanted to prove to those who doubted her that she was strong and could survive anything. The youngest in her firm, she was made partner, and her life was exactly as she wanted it to be.
Or was it?
Remy was strong and confident. He lived a life most men would die for. Dominating the corporate world during the day and partying with socialites at night, he had everything he needed.
Or so he thought.
One changing moment.
One drastic decision.
Together, would they truly be able to discover why it’s real?

This story was so emotional! An incredible read with real situations that do happen in real life. An incredible read and something you should definitely read 🙂
Although I was upset that this book should have come with a warning for a trigger that might upset some readers, once you got past that the story was great. Aimee and Remy need to get past their baggage to finally commit to each other but there are some things that are like riding through a tornado and can crush you in an instant. overall a good story with characters you cannot help but want them to get their HEA.
This was a very emotional read and had me fighting years the whole time. You definitely feel everything that Remy and Aimee are going through and at times you might want to smack them, but then you just keep rooting for them. I really enjoyed this book.
Why It’s Real had me feeling so many emotions. The push and pull between Remy and Aimee felt so real. Being in a non committed relationship sounds good in the beginning, but what happens when one catches feelings and the other pushes you away? Someone is bound to get hurt.
I will admit, I didn’t like Remy in the beginning. He seemed selfish and self centered. But then we get to know him and what he’s been through. It doesn’t forgive his actions, but gives a different perspective on why he did the things he did. Question is, is Remy redeemable?
My heart hurt for Aimee. Her heart is hurting, but she handled herself so well. But what happens when the guy who hurt you wants you back? Can she forgive him?
Why It’s Real is a story of love, loss, hope, forgiveness and redemption.
Emotional rollercoaster is how I would describe Why It’s Real. There are so many emotions and tugs at the heart that I wasn’t always sure exactly what I was feeling. I love how real Remy and Aimee are. They started as no-strings attached, then went to having feelings but not being willing to tell each other, to love, to hate, to love. It was an up and down, sideways, and backwards ride that ended up exactly where it should be.
The friends of the couple were wonderful. They didn’t choose sides, they gave advice even when they weren’t asked, and they pushed Aimee and Remy to figure out what they wanted and go for it. The understood their problems but didn’t let it get in the way of their friendships. Every couple or person needs friends like Aimee and Remy do.
Why It’s Real is not a light and easy story. There are hardships, tough love, and heartbreak but it all comes together to be a story that I am still thinking about.
Love both authors! Together, they’re even more awesome!
This book really packs an emotional punch! I could relate to this story personally so my feels were quite a wreck…
Remy, oh I love him! He fights so hard for Aimee, love him! Loved them together…swoon worthy for sure!
Why It’s Real is the story of Remy and AImee, side characters who were best friends in the first book, Why I’m Yours. They start a friends with benefits relationship that develops into them having serious feelings for each other. Unfortunately, they both make mistakes due to childhood baggage and feelings of unworthiness, making it look like a real romance between them is a no go. Aimee and Remy take you on an emotional roller coaster ride as they try to figure things out between them. It’s angsty, heartbreaking, heartwarming, and you won’t be able to stop reading until the last page. This book is definitely a one-sit read.
I give Why It’s Real 5 stars and highly recommend it. Congratulations, S Moose and C.A. Harms, you’ve written a masterpiece.
Why It’s Real is a tough read. These people go through so much in this novel; it’s just a hard climb at times. I believe Remy and Aimee are genuinely good people, but there is so much emotional chaos going on I don’t feel I truly get to know them. Not to say that I didn’t enjoy the story, I just was overwhelmed a bit by all that was going on.
Remy is the product of a nasty childhood with awful parents. That is left him shallow and unwilling to be who he can be in relationships because he thinks he is going to be like his parents. Remy’s thinking is flawed, and part of the story is Remy facing who he is and who he wants to be. He has good friends who are willing to tell him hard truths, but ultimately it is his love for Aimee that gets him to move forward.
Aimee is also the product of dysfunctional parenting. Her parenting woes, however, is the other end of the spectrum from Remy. Aimee is a bit of an overachiever. Her story is one of her learning to trust and just be. She is loved by her brother and friends, and learning to accept their affection along with believing in Remy’s love is enormous for her.
With all this, various trials and tribulations abound in this novel keep the reader on a ride of emotional highs and lows. Warning: there is a lot of angst in this novel. Some enjoy all the anxiety; others may find it challenging to handle. It’s all in your preference. Everyone gets their HEA, and you are smiling at the end for Remy and Aimee; it’s just their path was at times agonizing. If you love your novels with emotional weight and a journey to light, this novel is for you.
Get ready for the emotional roller coaster of the year! This amazing books comes from two amazing minds and they do not disappoint. The connection between Remy and Aimee is something so special you pull for them throughout the book. You can feel their connection screaming through the pages. Remy’s past is something that gets in the way and must be put to rest to repair the damage he has caused with Aimee. Everything about this book was amazing. The plot, the characters, the feelings…..this is one you aren’t going to want to miss but have your tissues ready!
Oh my heart! Harm and Moose have left me a complete mess with this book! Why It’s Real is raw, emotional, gritty, and painful.
Harm and Moose had me hooked right from the start. Remy and Amiee’s story is anything but easy and right from the very first page we see that first hand. Remy’s past isn’t easy and he carries that around with him now, always feeling like he isn’t good enough for good or happy things. Amiee loves Remy but her own issues mean she’s only willing to put up with so much from him. Amiee doesn’t want to be second place in someone’s life anymore. She wants to be first. But it just seems Remy cannot be that person for her.
Why It’s Real is a story about two broken people who help each other heal. The road they take is not easy, it’s messy and broken and painful. Mistakes are made and they are made hard. This book made my heart hurt so very much. These two struggled daily to find their way. They had more heartache and pain than anyone should have to face.
Harm and Moose delivered a phenomenal read, that was well-written and captivating. I was hooked from start to finish. And the emotions they were able to create in my while reading this book. I have no idea if this is their first time writing together, but I am going to find out. I need all their words!
When two of my favourite authors get together on a book I get super excited and they didn’t disappoint me. They delivered a great emotional story that had my feelings on quite the roller-coaster. They have given us a great story that’s mixed the perfect blend of romance, emotion, and lust mixed with heart-break, angst. Tissues and alcohol may be needed.
I am hoping this talented duo join forces again soon.

I’m worried. A man packing a woman’s bag with what he feels is deemed necessary can only lead to disaster.
My Review:
I struggled, and valiantly I might add, but this story just wasn’t my cup of Darjeeling as it was a full-on angst fest with painful and OTT wallowing, and angst is not, and will never be, my friend. As such, the first 30% was bordering on torture, but that was nothing compared to the tragedies that later befell the deeply mired characters and tossed the story into a listless stall. Sigh, the storylines were heaving with devastation, loss, family dysfunction, depression, and keening grief. However, I was rewarded for making it to the end as the satisfying HEA that was all the sweeter.
Remy and Aimee’s book lived up to every expectation I’d built up in my mind
C.A Harms and S. Moose have again made a formidable writing team, and when I saw that their long awaited second book was coming up, I couldn’t jump on it fast enough!!! Their writing is intense, shockingly sad, witty and humorous. Like life often is.
Why It’s Real can absolutely be read as a stand-a-lone, but we did meet Remy and Aimee as secondary characters in the book Why I’m Yours (2017) where they added a deep dynamic to the thread of that story, with the best hook ever at the end.
Now, we finally get their story, and it is Drew and Reagan’s, and little Dawson’s turn to acts as supporting secondary’s along with Remy and Drew’s best friend Zoey, although for her, not in a good way.
This book lived up to every expectation I’d built up in my mind. I also knew I wouldn’t move until I’d finished it, so as I crawled into bed at stupid o’clock in the morning, I was grateful I didn’t have to get up for work.
Remy and Aimee were both strong characters, and although at times I just wanted to junk-punch Remy, I totally understood where he came from. Aimee was perfect from him, only he couldn’t see it, and treated her in the worst possible way for what he thought were the best reasons. He really does deserve every nasty thing every reader wishes to visit upon his head.
Together they made a great team when their strengths dovetailed to bolster each other, but as their vulnerabilities clashed, it did nothing but create the perfect storm that could potentially sweep the foundations of any burgeoning relationship out from under them. Hell, Ms’s Moose and Harms put them through a hell that has the potential to break even the strongest of any relationship!!! I sat there stunned and heartbroken. Just heartbroken and thinking about those I’ve known who have been through this same thing.
I loved this book and I loved the characters, and yep, at the end, I even kind of liked Zoey. I highly recommend it to all and sundry! I’m also looking forward to the next one from this dynamic writing duo. 5 Stars for another amazing book ladies. 5 Stars
I received a complimentary ARC – early release copy of this book in Kindle format from the author for review purposes.
A few years ago I read this really awesome story, Why I am Yours. And I loved it so much. But it appeared it would have a second story and to some degree I was very apprehensive about reading that story. Why? Because the guy involved was someone I really liked but also someone who treated another character I really liked very badly. As in sex with other women.
And here we are in 2020 and its 3 years later and the book has arrived in Why It’s Real. The star of it are Aimee (bestie from the first book) and Remy (the cousin from book 1), the couple from the previous book released in 2017.
First I want to state that there is no cheating in this story or even the last book. Remy and Aimee never have a commitment ever. He takes a very long time to even get to that point in this book as well. There is one scene where its a little iffy on how it appears but he really didn’t cheat, it just looked bad.
Secondly if you read Yours you know that Aimeee discovers she is pregnant and she really has no idea what to do about that. Other stuff happens too in Yours and before you read this book, I suggest you read that story because this book opens up as Remy is in the hospital and the why is in book 1.
In this story Remy for the first part has had sex with Zoey. Its glossed over a lot in this story but he has had sex with her at least once and Zoey is sorta dating him in the we are both hurt and broken people and it means nothing way. So be ready for that. This is the part I hated in the first book and I hated here but it ends pretty fast too and then Remy has a lot of work ahead of him to get Aimee to give him a chance. And let me tell you, Aimee was awesome in the making him work for it category.
Aimee and Remy and even Zoey have a lot of pain in their pasts. ALOT and the bad times are not exactly over for them. I found the first book less intense than this story so be ready for a very intense story with lotsa angyst.
It is very well written but it definitely is not a light story. Its a story with hurt and broken people and story is not all happiness and laughter. But its a very heartfelt story and it was a great story told by two really awesome authors.
Holy wow!!
I don’t know quite what to say without giving anything away, so I won’t go into details, but this book is a heart gripper. An absolutely amazing book. Remy and Aimee’s journey is one of struggle and devastation. But shows what amazing strength these two characters have.
I could not put this book down, needing to know what happened next. So full of emotion, passion, and true love. Grab the tissues peeps. You’re gonna need them. Such a beautiful story of true love and strength. An absolute MUST READ!!
Why It’s Real by S. Moose and CA Harms was an angst-filled story that was emotional and heartbreaking and the feels were intense. Remy and Aimee feel like they are broken in their own way, as their pasts have not been easy. They definitely feel a connection, but for Remy, it’s easier to push her away. I loved how strong and determined Aimee was, even when she was hurting. Remy was resilient, but also a bit lost. Choices cause anguish and obstacles between them. Can they find a way back to each other before it’s too late?
Though I did not realize it at first, I would recommend reading Why I’m Yours before reading this, as they are interconnected and where the characters are first introduced. Why It’s Real by S. Moose and CA Harms is poignant and captivating from start to finish.
Read and reviewed for Reviews From the Heart.
Happy reading!
Aimee and Remy have a casual relationship until she realizes her feelings run a little deeper. When she has some unexpected news to tell Remy, she’s shocked and hurt when he abruptly ends things with her and starts hanging out more with his previous friends-with-benefits Zoey. Building a fort around her heart, she has no choice but to move on & forget about Remy as he has already moved on from her.
Remy has past demons he’s been battling for years. Knowing he can never be the man Aimee deserves, he breaks her heart before he can fall for her any deeper. He thinks he’s saving her from heartache but soon realizes he’s done the opposite & shattered her heart. He must put his past to rest before he can find a way to win back Aimee’s heart.
This book was a great read! I’m a huge fan of both authors and love their writing style. The tug of war of feelings & push/pull is something I love in a book, especially if the heroine is not a doormat. And Remy definitely had his work cut out for him because Aimee did not make it easy for him to earn her forgiveness & trust. They both go through so much and need to rely on each other at the most vulnerable time in their life. I hope Zoey gets her own book because she’s battling past demons of her own & needs an HEA.
Why It’s Real by S. Moose and C.A. Harms is quite the emotional punch to the system.
It quite literally is emotionally charged while keeping the touching sweetness. Even after reading this, I still am so affected by this story. It’s realistic, sweet, spicy, poignant, full of feels, heat, heart, great chemistry, and fantastic romance.
If you read Why I’m Yours (2017), these are the secondary characters Remy & Aimee who now are the main characters in this story. In book 1, they started a FWB relationship. But for Aimee, things changed. Aimee ends up finding out something that will change both of their lives. Now in book 2, the book picks off where book 1 left off when it comes to Aimee and Remy. We see Remy in the hospital and he pretty much tells Aimee that he doesn’t want her in his life anymore. This leaves Aimee hiding a huge secret from him. Remy just pushed Aimee away and at the most important time and done pretty painfully. The push/pull between them is written oh so well- even when I wanted to smack Remy and/or briefly shake some sense into Aimee.
Will Remy admit that he needs Aimee in his life? Will Aimee ever tell Remy her secret? Oh this story has everything that you want in a romance and then some. Get ready for some twists that take you on some major emotional rollercoaster ride!! It’s beautiful, sizzling, and yes, there are some heartbreaking moments yet is balanced out by the love and romance. The chemistry/connection between Aimee and Remy is electrifying even through the rough times. I’m looking forward to book 3 in this series.
My Rating: 4.8 stars ********
Even though this is a stand-alone I felt like I’m out of the loop somehow and missing some pieces so I’ll go back and read the one prior but even with that I enjoyed it a lot which is why I want to go back and read the first one. Aimee and Remy had a complicated relationship that comes to a head with a lot of bumps along the way. I enjoyed Aimee much more then Remy but enjoyed watching him have his ahh ha moment
Aimee and Remy are casual until one day everything changes. They both didn’t have best upbringing but can they get past that to see what they could be together? Remy has always been casual but can he be different with Aimee?
