A Paranormal Women’s Fiction with a bit of class, and a lot of sass, for anyone who feels like age is just a number!Midlife’s a journey. Enjoy the ride. Crisis included.Never knew that life after death was far more dangerous than real life.Never in my forty years did I think my new normal would be gluing body parts back onto ghosts and hosting a houseful of dead squatters. Thank God for superglue … ghosts and hosting a houseful of dead squatters. Thank God for superglue and a strong stomach.
Never thought I’d date the Grim Reaper and that I would be the one to blow it. I mean, how idiotic does one have to be to get dumped by a dude who lives in Hell?
Going about business as usual is not usual in any way. No one is who they seem to be… and to be honest, neither am I. What I’d known to be true has turned out to be myth. The Angels are frightening and the Demons are hot. Wait. I mean not. Who am I kidding? The Grim Reaper is very hot—like a freaking pre-menopausal hot flash hot.
Now I’m in a race against time and all sorts of unsavory supernatural horrors to save my deceased gay husband’s afterlife. And that was a sentence I never thought would leave my lips.
Whatever. I’ll yank up my big girl panties, stock up on wine and lean on my girlfriends as needed. As they say, when the going gets tough, the tough get inebriated… or something like that.
With everything to lose, I have no choice but to grow some lady balls. That I can do. I just hope balls will be enough.
I had planned to live midlife in peace, not in pieces.
Good luck to me…

After the hook in book 1, I couldn’t WAIT to get started on this one, and finished it within a day. The action sorta dies down as Daisy struggles to figure out her place in the immortal world (though she hasn’t reached immortality herself), but as a reader you can tell she’s setting up a good foundation for the drama about to unfold in the next book (& hopefully several more). The happy ending you THINK Daisy has found and earned is ripped away making your head spin, till she finally has to face the music and work to rebuild that relationship. I can appreciate Peterman not immediately giving her a happy ending and making her work for it, but at the same time, it’s a struggle too for the reader emotionally. Things finally start looking up by the end with another big hook to make you need the next book as soon as possible. I really can’t wait till we get the next book!
The second book in the series is just as good as the first. Loved Gram and her sayings. Daisy is still saving the squatters and gluing parts back on their bodies and she also needs to save her gay deceased ex husband. This book will definitely make you laugh out loud. Great characters and word building. Immediately starting the third book in the series.
Great follow-up to “It’s a Wonderful Midlife Crisis”! Love Daisy & the rest of the gang & can’t wait to see what happens next.
Messing up a new relationship is not unusual
When you have more than average baggage, it is pretty likely
Shaking the foundations of another realm to get notice and assistance- extraordinary
As more is revealed about Daisy, her skills and parentage, more drama rears its head
Some revelations are not completely surprising, though more than one is disappointing
My only big disappointment: still waiting for the major storylines from this and Book 1 to resolve!
Bring on Book 3. Baby!
I have no idea how I’m going to wait for the next one! Daisy is in for the fight if her life trying to secure Steve’s afterlife. What should have been a simple goodbye and walk into the light has turned into an all hands on deck fight to prove he deserves it and that the angel of mercy only did it for revenge. It’s going to be hard, and it’s going to cost and who she was before all of this is most certainly not who she will be when it’s all over. She was thought the ghost were the hardest part, they were just a walk in the park compared to what comes next.
When I finished this book, I wanted to give it a standing ovation. There was just one problem: it was 1am and my husband was sleeping beside me. But I thought about doing it anyway because that is HOW GOOD THIS BOOK IS.
If you’re looking for a Paranormal Women’s Fiction book which is about as close to perfect as they come – pick up this series. You’re welcome.
The story was imaginative and how ghosts are portrayed in the story is unusual and fun. Though I didn’t have any laugh out loud moments, there is an undercurrent of humor. The one thing that keeps me from giving this story more stars is the over-the-top and somewhat inconsistent main character, Daisy. Daisy is a drama queen; everything is wildly this or terribly that. her life is the biggest mess that anyone can imagine . . . you get the picture. She makes a decision on how to handle something then goes against it within a few pages. It does end in a bit of a cliff hanger. It’s on Kindle Unlimited and, as I said, the story is good enough that I’ll probably go on to the next one, I just wish I could get on board with the main character.
The author stretched what should have been one book into three, it’s just ridiculous to stop randomly. She clearly did it to try to make more money.
This is the second book in the Midlife crisis series and it does not disappoint. In my opinion you can read it as a stand alone. However, in order to get the full enjoyment from it I would recommend reading the first in the series prior to this. Daisy is having a seriously rough year. She turns the BIG 40 and her life turns a bit insane. Apparently she has a gift she didn’t know she possessed. She is a death counselor. She’s got dead people in her house, that she lovingly refers to as squatters, a dead husband that she just found out was gay who’s afterlife hangs in the balance, a new love interest that shes now banished from her life, and a few little other surprises. Its been a rough year so far. Armed with a couple of cases of super glue ( for the squatters body parts that like to fall off), her girlfriends and her dogs shes determined to battle it all to save her husband from the fate he’s been wrongfully condemned to. The question is will she get back the man she now loves, who she sent away, in the process or will she have to go this one alone? Honestly this story just keeps getting better and better. The only thing wrong with it is that it leaves you NEEDING the next book to continue on and find out what’s gonna happen next! You need to one click this series into your life. You won’t regret a single page of these books.
She’s crazy. She’s brilliant. She’s hilarious! She’s who I want to be when I grow up. This second book in the series is twice as good as the first and I won’t even have words to say when the third one comes out. I love Daisy! She’s the girl who falls into all kinds of horrible troubles and then unbelievably comes out stronger and on top of the world. She’s living proof that this hot mama is on her way up! Buy it, read it, laugh til you cry. You won’t want it to ever end.
All I can say is I LOVED this book! I am extremely appreciative that Daisy and Gideon’s relationship bump didmt drag out to the next book. I laughed until I cried and cried until laughter kicked in. The mark of a great author is when I’m annoyed I can’t immediately read the next book because I have to wait for the release date! I feel like I’m fangirling here but I can’t help it.. I just simply love this series and I can’t wait for book 3.
What an epic roller coaster if emotions this book evokes! I was laughing hysterically at the endless info Jenn has, to crying at the heartbreak of being an death counselor. To learn that all you thought was impossible is possible is one thing but it’s another thing to accept. Unfortunately Daisy doesn’t have time to waste.. she needs to save her best friend and right the epic wrongs she’s made. Crisis indeed!
Who’s Midlife Crisis Is It Anyways? started me off sad. I could feel Daisy’s pain. But as a woman that has just turned 40 and learned that she’s not as broken as she thinks she is, she’s not about to be “Southern Polite” anymore. With a case of superglue, her strong friends, a wrong to right (or a few), Daisy is going to come out on top. It’s just a matter of if there’s enough of June’s cookies & who will be standing.
This is the second book in a series. While the series picks up from where the first book left off, don’t worry if you haven’t read it, there is a nice summary to catch you up. The catch up is nice in that it doesn’t bog you down if you have read the first book.
Daisy stopped the darkness from taking her dead gay husband. Now she has to save his afterlife or die trying. Fourth is turning out to be a lot harder than she ever imagined. But there are a few perks. And great friends, even if some of them are not your everyday average humans. One thing is for sure, it’s gonna be a bumpy ride but one heck of an adventure!
Robyn has once again made me laugh, question my own midlife crisis and leaves me begging for more! Is book three ready yet?
This book is amazing. I love reading about a woman over 40 who is just coming into her own. She is facing every hilarious crisis head on and doesn’t flinch from the hard jobs. She is butting heads with powerful people and making friends with unexpected ones. If you want a fun, hilarious read this is it.
Fantastic! This series is great – full of heart, snark, laughs, and some tears. Book two continues on Daisy’s journey into her new life as a Death Counselor – or is she? When we left her in book one, she’d quit the Death Counselor gig and made a huge mistake to save her best friend. Now she has to figure out how to fix things for Steve and for herself. Her heart may be broken, but things still need to be done. With or without Gideon.
There are far more laughs than tears, but this book really hit me in the feels. It is so great to have a heroine be so much a normal middle-aged woman having to deal with being a not-normal middle-aged woman.
Anxiously awaiting book three!
Daisy’s story continues right where it left off in Book 1, where she managed to blow up her love life and walk away from her job as a Ghost Counselor. Or did she? What will she do with all that superglue now. Midlife has been full of surprises and has shown her that things are not always what they seem. Including Daisy herself. Read it —- You won’t be disappointed
I have to lead with this: If you haven’t read book 1, do it first if you want to enjoy book 2 to its fullest. Book 2 contains some existential questions:
1. Does Super Glue really work long-term on body part of the dead?
2. Can there ever be enough of June’s cookies?
3. Is Karma really a bitch? Or is she something else in disguise?
4. What is Daisy really?
What else? It’s fun, it’s funny, it’s Robyn Peterman with “just a little deep sort of stuff” thrown in towards the end.
What else? Buy it and read it. You’ll enjoy it except for one thing… the ending leaves us wondering until Book 3 comes out. Come on Book 3! Hurry!
I couldn’t book this book down. The story line is fantastic and easily relatable. Another funny, fantastic book by Robyn Peterman.
Seriously awesome story.
Book 1 was amazaballs, Book 2 went above and beyond.
Daisy is back and more badass than ever…
Okay so what I loved… besides everything, this book was mostly about the array of emotions it evoked in me. The story expanded on from book 1 in wonderfully emotional ways, I laughed, I cried gut wrenching sobs, I got angry and wanted to knock some heads together and then I laughed some more..
That’s everything I loved.
If you love funny and supernatural this is an awesome story that will truly entertain.
