My name is Lennox Brooks and I’ll admit, I’ve made a lot of mistakes. I don’t take the big risks, I cover my insecurities with snark, I’ve shown my crazy a few more times then I would’ve liked, and I’ve been trying, and failing at love pretty much since I first grew tits.Weirdos, Mama’s boys, the over-coiffed, and underwhelming, I’ve been out with them all, just read my blog. I’ve got horror … horror stories that would curl your toes and singe your nose hairs, but none of them compare to the toad who started it all, Ellis Walker.
He was the boy next door, the charming, infuriatingly gorgeous one who broke my heart and disappeared without a trace. Now he’s back and determined to throw my life into chaos, dredging up painful memories just when things were getting good.
But the thing is there are always two sides to every story.
I’ve spent the better part of my life hating him for everything he put me through, but without that resentment clouding my judgment how will I ever resist him?
Love is complicated, appearances are deceiving, and sometimes you have to kiss a whole lotta frogs before finding your prince.

I’ve always loved the way Samatha Harris can stitch together a story. We either love or hate her characters. Whole Lotta Frogs is her best work yet. The book will make you laugh and cringe (in a good way) as the story unravels.
Lennox Brooks is just a woman looking for love and her place in the world, but there is so much more to her than that. As she tries to navigate the dating scene, she has stories that will have you shaking your head as you giggle. She didn’t count on Ellis. She wants to hate him, but he makes it hard for her. Will she ever get past her prejudice against him?
The story is very much character driven and told from Lennox’s perspective. The stories are hilarious and you wonder if they could really happy…they can. You want to slap Lennox a couple of times, but that’s because she can be a little dense. It’s one of the things that makes her so real though. The banter between Ellis and Lennox is both hilarious and emotional, and the writing is spot on. I highly recommend you one click this book today! 5 Stars.
This story is hilarious! From Lennox dating experiences to writing about them in her online Blog. How many Frogs does she see before finding her Prince?
this is a fun, laugh out loud story with a second chance romance.
Heather Firth narration is phenomenal. She flawlessly transitioned from one character to the next. she made this a delightful story to listen to. I was gifted this audio and offered my review.
This is one of my favorite books by author Samatha Harris. The pages practically turned themselves and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a good contemporary romance.
How many frogs do u have to kiss until you find your Prince?
Lennox has been through a fair few!
When her arch enemy from high school Ellis turns up he brings with him his business partner Sawyer, who Lennox thinks might be the one but when Ellis throws a spanner in the works can she belive all he is saying?
OMG!!! I have got to say this book by Samatha Harris is IT!! Whole Lotta Frogs has everything you need. It has laughter (lots of it), romance, laughter (yes it needed to be said again) and reality. Harris had me busting a gut from the first chapter until the very last.
Lennox is braving the seas of dating and blogging about all the frogs she has to kiss while trying to find her prince. This is the best part of the book. I can honestly see these dates happening. I feel like I have met most of these guys. Having her best friends, Desi and Gus, help her through all the frogs helps. Mind you they are dealing with their own dating dilemmas. And then you have Ben, who has returned to his hometown and is watching the one girl who has always had his attention, Lennox. Can a relationship blossom her or will Lennox jump out of the pond?
This is one of the best books I’ve read this year. And I can not wait to read more from Samatha Harris.
Not my typical book but when read the blurb and teasers I had to read it ASAP! This romantic book stole my heart. Samatha Harris painted the kisses in such a way that it was as hot as any sex scene. It reminded me how sexy a kiss can really be.
Recommended for that HEA sweeter story that makes you feel great!
I was offered an ARC from the author with no expectations of a review, but I had to write a review for this one. I finished last night (I was up very late because I couldn’t put it down) and Samatha Harris did not disappoint me.
Whole Lotta Frogs is funny, sweet, and hot without going overboard with sex. The characters are flawed but very likable . By the end I felt I knew Len and Ellis as well or better than some of my own friends.
Harris’ use of blog posts in between chapters is brilliant. The blogs were believable and fun to read while giving Len (the FMC) and the plot more depth.
I’ve been known to collect quotes from books I liked and I collected quite a few from this one. “…but you love me, Lennox. The only one who doesn’t believe it is you.” and “Wishes are like prayers fueled by hope and desire.” are just a couple of them.
Those of you who have followed me for a while know I love funny and this romance didn’t let me down–it had me laughing through the pages up to the very end.
Five enthusiastic stars for A Whole Lotta Frogs!!
Whole Lotta Frogs was a good read by Samatha Harris. Lennox Brooks knows that she has made a lot of mistakes. She has been extremely unlucky with love. She writes all her dating horror stories on her blog, and it all started with Ellis Walker. He was her charming neighbor who broke her heart and then disappeared. She never got to know his side of the story. Although she is angry with him, she knows she will have a hard time resisting him. I enjoyed reading Lennox and Ellis’ story and cant wait to read more by the author.
I thought this was a cute, light, fun book to listen to. I would have liked to give it 4.5 stars because I felt like there was room for improvement with the final stretch of the book, but overall I liked the writing style and enjoyed the book.
I listened to the Audible version and Heather Firth did a great job with her performance. I’m sure that I enjoyed the book more because I listened to it.

This was such a fun friend-enemies to lovers story. I loved every second. Lennox is an independent woman who hates her job as a personal assistant but stays it in hopes to be a journalist one day, no matter how many times her boss turns down her articles. She has a blog where she keeps herself anonymous about her disaster of a dating life. Her childhood best friend turned ex friend Ellis is back in town and she is forced to see him as their families are very close. She believes his ultimate hobby is to make her life a living hell. But as events happen she starts to learn that everything she thought about him, her life, herself… isn’t as she thought. She has to make some major decisions. Decisions that will affect her future and she has to take some chances, something she isn’t good at. Every second of this story had me on my toes while laughing out loud. Yes I was that crazy lady with head phones on laughing. I couldn’t help it. The banter between Ellis and Lennox was hysterical. And her blog posts! I am so sad that her blog isn’t real. I would so be a subscriber. This narrator was the perfect voice for Lennox. She really made me believe she was telling the story to me. This is a great rom com that all romance fans will fall in love with. I know I did. And you don’t get just once romance in this story. That’s all I am saying. I won’t spoil the fun.
“Whole Lotta Frogs” is an entertaining read with the right mix of banter, humor and sexual tension you come to expect with an enemies-to-lovers romance. Lennox is on a mission to find her prince, and as she suffers through one dating disaster after the next, she blogs about all the unfortunate “frogs” she’s had to endure to find true love. Enter Ellis, her childhood tormentor/crush… his mere presence seems to always rile her up, yet she’s too busy hating on him to realize her prince has been there all along. As the saying goes… you have to kiss a lot of frogs before you find your prince. The narration was great! Heather Firth always adds a heartwarming feel and has an array of voices that perfectly match the personalities of the characters.
I truly enjoyed the story of Lennox and Ellis. The book’s unique style presents the story in a way that really resonates with readers (or listeners). Blog posts are interspersed between the chapters, showing how dating disasters complement each chapter. The banter runs from funny to sexy. The characters hit the gamut of emotions. In essence is this a second chance romance, but truth be told that number of chances could be higher.
Growing up together Ellis and Len were good friends, however emotions ran deeper for both of them than they cared to admit. When a high school mile stone goes down in flames and Ellis disappears after graduation Lennox feels jilted and broken. Years, and many frog dates later, Ellis returns and all hell breaks loose in Len’s world. There is a lot of humor in the book but also some true to life heartbreaking secrets. The push and pull between Len and Ellis is fun, flirty, emotional, raw, real, and sexy. Len fights tooth and nail against their pull, holding onto the past and the hurt.
Her friends are awesome and really throw her a curve she did not expect. Her boss is not. Her mom is a hoot and grandma is very straight-laced. Her dating disaster blog gains popularity throughout the years, causing even more chaos in her life.
Heather Firth does an excellent job of bringing these characters to life. Her range and vocal variety give the listener all the feels
Audio Review:
whole lotta FROGS by Samantha Harris is absolutely cleverly designed & written with a perfect cover & title.
Ellis Walker and Lennox Brooks adorable romance is blended with crazy banter and humour that keeps you giggling through the entire listen. Lennox Brooks dating woes is told in a arrangement chapter then blog post about that chapter like a diary tell all. Drama filled angst like the old saying says you have to to date a whole lot of frogs to find/realize who your prince charming is. Supporting character’s accentuate & bring so much more character to the story. I adored the smart & sassy, yet stubborn characteristics of Lennox and the sweet & swoon worthy ones of Ellis. Overall, a light, fun & hilarious listen. I definitely plan on listening to this one again.
Narrator Heather Firth’s performance was flawless. The tone and pace flows through smoothly. Her performance brings it into a real life experience.
So much to like about this book! Oh my where to start!
Whole Lotta Frogs is the story of Lennox and Ellis. It’s the perfect second chance romance with humor and swooniness thrown in!
Lennox and Ellis grew up together. Ellis being a young guy did some pretty crazy things to get Lennox’s attention. But Lennox took it the wrong way and though Ellis hated her. Culminating to Ellis standing up Lennox at prom. To Lennox this is the ultimate betrayal.
Flash forward years later and they run into each other again and boy do the sparks fly! This story is about forgiveness and it is done so well! There is more to the story about why Ellis left Lennox standing there for prom. I was so enamored of Ellis trying to reach out to Lennox for forgiveness and the reasons why Lennox tried to hold on to her grudge. It was fantastic to read how it plays out!
I loved the blog posts interspersed throughout the story, it brought some clarity to Lennox’s way of thinking!
I would have loved to have seen some chapters from Ellis’s POV, but it was still a fantastic story without them.
This is a light hearted, page turner with a HEA that is sweet and romantical. I couldn’t put this story down till the end!
The secondary characters were fantastic and brought even more to the story, would love to see some of them get their own stories too!
Well done Ms. Harris! Can’t wait to see what you surprise us with next!
Cute, funny, and lighthearted Whole Lotta Frogs is a perfect read to escape with. Fantastic banter and humor mixed with an adorable romance in a way that keeps you giggling through the pages while it steals your heart. Lennox and Ellis make enemies to lovers flat out fun with their story! If you like laughter to go with your swoon Whole Lotta Frogs is a Book you’re going to love!
Lennox was hilarious, between dating disasters and the back and forth with Ellis she had me constantly laughing. Smart and sassy she was also seriously stubborn which occasionally had me agreeing right along with her friends and family when they told her to look at what was right in front of her. The grudge she held against Ellis was well earned, but after getting to know him more it’s clear how much he actually loves her.
Ellis earned the battle he had on his hands with Lennox. After years of teasing and heartbreak when they were teenagers he had a lot to prove when it came to winning over Lennox. As these two find their way to love through some hilarious obstacles you can’t help but get swept up in the sweetness of their story.
This book is a second chance romance of sorts. I would give the story a 4 stars and recommend to others. This has the romance, the animosity, the steam, and some comedy in between. So if your look for a good read this one is for you!
Lennox and Ellis have known each other for many years, next door neighbors, childhood crushes and all seemed to be going n the right direction until Ellis broke Lennox’s heart. She hasn’t seen him in years but when he breezes back in her life will she give him the benefit of the doubt and give him a second-chance or will she keep on her journey of kissing frogs to find her prince?
Get to one clicking to see what happens!
“There is no us.”
“There could be. Once you finally admit that you feel something for me too.”
“I don’t feel anything for you but irritation.”
“See you do feel something for me.”
I absolutely loved this story! I saw a part of myself in Lennox and I saw part of myself in Ellis. I’ve been on both sides of love and heartbreak, but I was routing hard for these two!
Lennox Brooks has been on a mission to find love – to find her perfect one. Mission failed. Each one, worse than the last. Flaws, fetishes, Peter Pan syndrome, you name it, she’s dated it. She knows the old saying “you have to kiss a lot of frogs before you find your prince” but geez-a-loo, how many is a lot? Despite the fact that she’s still in the frog pond, she’s content. She has good friends, and a blog called “Whole Lotta Frogs” that is garnering a following. But, now he’s back. The original frog. Frog Zero. He broke her heart into splinters all those years ago – leaving without so much as a goodbye – and she’s hated him ever since. Well, maybe hate is a bit strong, but she’s held her grudge for so long, she doesn’t know who she is without it. He’s doing his best to crumble the wall she’s put around herself when it comes to him. Does she dare lower it? Could Frog Zero turn out to be Prince Forever?
Ellis Walker came back. For her. Only she doesn’t realize it yet. Yes, he hurt her all those years ago, but what she doesn’t know is how much it hurt him too. He had to leave. He saw no choice, and letting her go was the price he paid. He never told her how he felt back then – but now? He’ll make it clear to Lennox that he’s always been hers, and she’s always been his. Can he convince her to take a leap with him? He lost her once. Never again. This frog is here to stay.
I’d call this book a friends-to-lovers story. I’d call this book a second-chance romance. I’d call this book light-hearted, and heartbreaking, and funny, and wonderful, and amazing too! I loved the interjections of Lennox’s blog posts in between chapters! I loved Ellis – he was trying so hard, and was being so patient with her it killed me! And poor Sawyer – poor guy never stood a chance.
I recommend this to anyone who’s spent any time at all in the frog pond -so yeah, everyone.
This is my first time reading Samantha Harris and I really enjoyed this book!! I was entertained by Ellis and Lennox’s story!
Ellis and Lennox have known each other since they were little and Lennox has always had a crush on Ellis. However, once they started growing up, Ellis started picking on Lennox every chance he got. Even though they went their separate ways in High School, they made a pact to go to prom with each other. When things didn’t quite turn out the way they should have, that was the last straw for Lennox and Ellis became her #1 enemy.
Now, Ellis is back and there are all sorts of problems. Especially now that his business partner, Sawyer, has taken an interest in Lennox.
Whole Lotta Frogs is a fun story about work life, home life, friends and dating. I really enjoyed the story and sometimes, I just wanted to shake Lennox for not seeing what was in front of her the entire time. Full of laughs, frustration and a love story that spans decades, Whole Lotta Frogs was a very enjoyable read!
Wow!! This book had me hooked from the very beginning til the very last page. And I didn’t want it to end then. It was the perfect combination of funny and romance with the dash of angst needed for the most amazing love story. Lennox and Ellis are childhood friends that happen to have a lot of history that they see somewhat different and then Lennox doesn’t let go of childhood mistakes as easily as some. And the way that Samatha explains the way she is feeling her hopes, dreams, fears, and everything thing else she possibly think of is the way everyone of us can relate to and it’s absolutely amazing how she conveyed that into words and the same with Ellis. And the way she made him so vulnerable but so strong at the same time just perfect!! The secondary characters in this book just add so much more character to this story. Some of them was just so funny and added their own pizzazz to this story.
I highly highly recommend this book!! – By Tina
