***SPOILERS***
This books was cute, an insta-love story between two sweet, shy, awkward and overall very likable characters, with a mystery/suspense twist. It seemed a bit like a modern fairy tale in parts, and just when you thought you knew how it would end, something happens to change everything. Julie a seamstress agrees to go on a blind date her best friend organised with Harry Jackson. Harry can’t believe he was talked into using this dating app and now is “obligated” to go on a date with Julie. The date goes really well surprisingly and they arrange to meet up again before Harry has to go to London. Harry had inadvertently invited Julie without her knowing when his mother called badgering him about am upcoming event, where his EX would be.Harry convinces Julie to go with him, then he gets the first death threat thinking they where safe in London they get another death threat Julie thinks it is his ex Ebony. Harry gets attacked and Julie helps fend of the attackers, but leaves London thinking if she left him he would be safe and the threats would stop. Harry goes back to get Julie because he loves her, but then she is kidnapped. One of Harry’s security team discovers where Julie is being held and they go to rescue her. They mange to over throw the kidnappers except in the turn of events some of Harry’s security are the ones involved with the threatening messages and it is his mum who is behind it all; as she wants Harry to get back with his ex Ebony. Harry gets injured and the whole time Julie stays by his side as he recovers finally admitting she loves him as munch as he does her. This book easily held my interest from beginning to end. And the next book in the series looks like it will be just as good!
I received this book as an ARC and am leaving my honest opinion.
Harry is smart and sweet and nothing like an alpha male. That is until circumstances force him to use strength he didn’t know he had. This is a sweet, quick read with delightful characters; just enough suspense to keep things interesting; and a cute happily ever after.
This is a great stand alone story that is well written. It has a little mystery and suspense, with a lot of sweet romance. The characters are captivating and will have you falling in love with them. The storyline is intriguing and keeps you turning pages. I really enjoyed reading this book and look forward to reading more in this series.
Who wouldn’t want to love this billionaire!
This was a cute story about Julie a seamstress and Harry a movie producer, billionaire. They were set up on a blind date by Julie’s best friend and match maker by trade. The attraction was immediate. As the book quickly moved along, there were twists and turns that kept my attention and made for a interesting story. One thing that drove me crazy was Julie’s name (Julie Andrews). I kept waiting for the sound of music to start playing. Overall it was a very enjoyable book!
This was an enjoyable read, a sweet clean romance with a bit of suspense. It kept me interested and drew me into the characters. I look forward to reading the next book.
This is a clean romance that has some mystery to it. I enjoyed the sweetness of Julie when others a very unkind to her. Harry is a nice gentleman. I didn’t expect there to be a mystery but I like that there is. Of course, there are several very unkind, not nice people. I received the audible book free from the author. This is my voluntary review.
Who Wants to Love a Billionaire? Is a sweet, contemporary romantic story with a suspense element. Harry is lovely, geeky, kind and rather naive and Julie is a bit out of her depth. This is a good story but a little unrealistic in places for me. If you like a clean romance with a bit of drama then this is the book for you. I received an advanced copy of this book and this is my honest and voluntary review.
Great Story & Audible Listen A SweetRomance with a Suspenseful Twist!
Who Wants to Love a Billionaire?
Billionaires in New York, Book 1
By: Laura Burton
Narrated by: Connie Shabshab
This is a sweet romance with a twist of suspense and mystery. I enjoyed Laura Burton’s writing style and the storylines she created, they were interesting and captivated me from start to end. The characters are likable and nicely developed. Julie is a dressmaker working hard for famous designer, she has hopes her own designs will be recognized one day. Her matchmaking friend Emily needs a date for one of her clients and asks Julie to go, she agrees and they meet at a restaurant. Harry Jackson is a nice guy, some say too nice because he is often taken advantage of. He is a busy Hollywood producer and a bit on the shy side so he turns to a matchmaker for a date. He meets Julie for dinner and the two hit it off and he asks her for another date. Then he receives a threatening note that he needs to not see her anymore. His feelings for her were too strong to end it and more threats come and they escalate further. This fast paced story is well plotted, there is never a dull moment with plenty of drama, action, some mystery, thrilling suspense, twists and turns you never see coming, some heartfelt moments and sweet romance. Laura Burton, thank you for this great story and emotional rollercoaster ride.
I listened to the Audible edition, Connie Shabshab is a terrific narrator and voice artist. She brings the characters to life giving each their own voice and personality. She does a great job performing the different accents and projecting the character’s emotions into her performance. She is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for this great listen
I started this book and could not stop reading until the end. I loved the characters and the suspense/mystery involved. Billionaire Howard (Harry) Jackson decides to get a matchmaker. He meets Julie and it’s love. But can he find out who is making threats against him and Julie? Someone doesn’t want them together and things are escalating. You will enjoy this book.
I voluntarily received this book for an honest review from StoryOrigin.
*SPOILER*
I really liked this story it was really good. It held me on my seat until the very end.
Harry is a billionare who hire’s Emily to match him with a wife cuz she owns a matchmaking company. Julie is Emily’s best friend and thinks their perfect for each other even though Julie is only a seamstress.
Throughout this story Harry (Harold) needs to find his inner strength tho stand up to people and not be a pushover and Julie is that to him.
Saddest part might be that his mother was very rude and tried to get Harry back with his ex-fiance and kind of almost gets him killed.
Who Wants to Date a Billionaire?
Who Wants to…a Billionaire?, Book 2
By: Laura Burton
Narrated by: Connie Shabshab
What happens when you want to expand your business and the only way to secure the funds is to get married? You find a pretend husband! Emily owns a matchmaking business and would like to open a new office. With the terms of her funding set, she knows she needs to find a husband fast! David comes to her and needs to find a wife in 30 days, having this opportunity fall into her lap! Emily is a strong willed, competent woman and does not need a man to complete her, so she thinks. David is a little shy, trips over himself when trying to impress(which I adore) and is very protective of his family. Love these two very different personalities. Its a joy to see how they meld. Laura Burton takes us on a fun filled adventure as these two navigate their new relationship. It’s got humor, a lot of secrets and a twist that not only made me smile but was a complete surprise! This is my first book by the author, and I love her style, her low angst and the sweet romance she wove between these two!
Connie Shabshab is a new to me narrator, and I enjoyed her performance. She has a great pace, a huge variety of voices and really brings the story to life. She made it a wonderful listen!
