This is the worst book I’ve read in a long time!

I put it down, peeked at the ending, probably a good story, but I was turned off by the “stream of consciousness ” writing style. Too grim for me

I enjoyed this book! It was not intellectually challenging but it was entertaining and kept my attention. I enjoyed the author’s use of changing the viewpoint via chapter breaks, because that enabled me to keep up with who was saying/thinking what. The storyline was very believable and I liked how it was REAL. I could totally see this middle class neighborhood residents’ lives being exactly how they were described. Nothing was overblown and no knights in shining armor rained miracles down from heaven at the last minute. Rather, the author allowed the characters to tell the story, even to each other. And I even enjoyed the slightly whimsical ending (while still maintaining the brutal reality) that I must admit evoked a tear. I would definitely read more from this author!
I really did not enjoy reading this book, but curious enough to finish it. There was not a single likable character. I stared to click “TRAGIC” above, but it really wasn’t
any or all of the characters could have died and I really wouldn’t have cared, although if they had, then it could qualify as tragic. The writing was fine – just not my cup of tea.
