For these two broken hearts, the first step toward love will be a huge leap of faith.
Jessica Mason isn’t looking for love when she meets Ridley Chesterfield. Instead she is still reeling from the tragic, unexpected loss of her husband and daughter—and awaiting the arrival of her unborn child. Harboring the secret of her husband’s betrayal, her pain is deeper than anyone knows.
Ridley … anyone knows.
Ridley Chesterfield is hiding out in Hope Springs, Idaho, avoiding a political scandal and the barrage of false media headlines that have tarnished his good name. The last thing Ridley wants is a relationship—but when fate leads Ridley to form a friendship with his reclusive and pregnant neighbor, he wonders if this small-town hideout might be more of a long-term destination.
When Jessica begins to read her great-grandfather’s Bible, she finds a connection with a man she never knew. Somehow the verses he marked and the words he wrote in the margins open her heart to healing. And as Ridley and Jessica help each other forgive the people who have wronged them, they must decide if the past will define them or if they will choose to love again.
Who I Am With You weaves together a modern-day romance with Jessica’s great-grandfather’s story from the 1930s, reminding us that some truths can cross generations and that faith has the power to transform families forever.

Who I am with you
Jessica is recovering from the accidental death of husband and young daughter. Living in a small community. She meets her new neighbor Ridley, (I love his unusual name) and he is staying in his parents cabin temporarily. Ridley adopts a dog that loves to go see Jessica.
I love a book that covers two time periods. Jessica reads her great grandfathers bible that he wrote a lot about his life. I loved reading his story and how he came through all his struggles.
The story will continue in the next book called “I cross my heart”. I look forward to reading more about the town Hope Springs, meeting new characters and more about Jessica and Ridley and the great grandfather.
I received an complementary copy of the book from the author. I was not required to write an positive review. This is my own opinion.
This is book 1 in the Legacy of Faith series. This is Jessica and Ridley’s story but then again it’s also Helen and Andrew’s story. This story was so hard to put down once I started it, it’s just that great! Jessica has suffered a devastating loss of her husband and daughter. Ridley, her new neighbor has moved in next door in the abandoned property. He is there dealing with a painful past as well. Neither are looking for friendship from each other or anything more. When they keep bumping into each other in town and Ridley’s new dog keeps coming to Jessica’s house just maybe friendship or can something more flourish despite heartbreak and sadness plaguing Jessica. I really enjoyed how the book doesn’t have fluff, it’s a very plausible story line. The story is intertwined between past and present through a family bible that gives so much comfort.Very easy to relate to characters, they could be your neighbors. Robin always writes such beautiful books with wonderful lessons in them that you just have to shake your head yes to and agree with them! My favorite quote from the book, ” I offered my bitterness to God, and I felt him take it from me. ” Forgiveness is such a key element in this book. Forgiveness is so healing. I can not wait for the next book in this series!

I was given a complimentary copy of this book by the author. Thank you. All opinions expressed are my own.
This was an entertaining story full of family, faith and generations. The two main characters, Jessica and Ridley, had painful pasts to deal with, lots of baggage. There was also interspersed tidbits of Jessica’s great grandfather as he dealt with the Great Depression and family issues. Jessica’s mother gave Jessica a Bible that belonged to him with his personal notes, underlined scripture and family history.
This brought a special meaning to the whole story with both generations represented. It was refreshing in how the author brought out the spiritual aspects and how each character used that to let God once again work in their lives, both past and present.
New beginnings are always possible when God is allowed to lead.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author through the publisher but was not required to write a review, positive or otherwise.
Awesome book
This is the first book that I’ve read from Robin Lee Hatcher and I truly enjoyed it. If you’re looking for a good story without cursing, give this a read.
Great book , generational story.
This is one of those books that you hate to see end. Excellent characters with a good story and good food for thought as well.
great book!!
I like all of Robin’s books. This was one of the best. Her characters are so real.
I love stories that have characters who are interesting within themselves. Their story builds slowly and sweetly and genuinely. Some things just should not be rushed!
I loved this book. The characters were realistic people that you could relate to and root for.
There were two stories intersecting from a Bible passes down, but they were rather parallel instead of the older story more directly influencing the new story. I would have enjoyed just one story and characters developed more fully.
In the past, I really liked Robin Lee Hatcher’s books, in fact, I have several in my bookcase. But, the last few years her writing didn’t have the same type of enjoyment I was received when reading them.
This book restored my faith in her writing. This book is the reason I will look forward to reading other books in the future by Robin Lee Hatcher.
The story is about Jessica and Ridley. They both have issues and are wanting to hide from the world, but in a slow fashion over time they become friends. They both learn to accept and trust God, while at the same time their appreciation for one another grows.
This book is a story of love, forgiveness and has a second story intertwined within, of Jessica’s great, great grandparents. The weaving of that story in addition to Jessica’s was a true pleasure to read.
The publisher has provided me with a complimentary copy of this book through BookLook Bloggers.
I was expecting this to be a contemporary romance, because all the other Robin Lee Hatcher novels I’ve read have been contemporary romances. So I was surprised when I started reading and found it’s a dual timeline story. Yes, the book description says this, but I guess I saw “Robin Lee Hatcher” and didn’t read the the book description properly. I knew I’d enjoy it.
And I did.
In the present story, Jessica Morgan is an artist who is expecting her dead husband’s baby while still recovering from his death, and the death of their daughter. Jessica has shut herself away from friends and life, but that changes when Ridley Chesterfield moves in next door. Ridley and his adopted stray dog challenge Jessica to come out of her shell.
I enjoyed watching Jessica grow past her grief and open up to live and love. However, if I had a criticism of Who I Am With You, it would be that she recovered from the lost of her daughter more quickly than seemed natural given the way she was portrayed at the beginning of the story. But I loved the way Ridley was able to bring Jessica out of her shell and back to church even while he was dealing with his own personal crisis.
In the past story, Andrew and Helen Henning are starting their perfect married life when Andrew loses his job. In the early weeks of what becomes the Great Depression. I didn’t enjoy the past story as much (hey, I’m a contemporary romance fan and the Great Depression is, well, somewhat depressing).
But the past story was compelling, and it set the scene for this contemporary story, and the next. And while I liked Ridley as a romance hero who faced internal and external challenges, his were minor in comparison to Andrew’s challenges. Overall, Who I Am With you is a great story filled with spiritual truth … and a couple of pointed comments on the current political climate.
Recommended for fans of dual timeline stories with a heart of faith.
Thanks to Thomas Nelson and NetGalley for providing a free ebook for review.
Excellent book that weaves modern day with the history of the main character’s family..a page turner that you will not want to end!
I loved this incredible time-slip romance novel!
The two time periods in this book are contemporary and Depression Era. The main characters in each period are fantastic. Their depth pulled me into both stories and captured my interest and emotions. I was caught up in their difficulties and heartaches. I was rooting for all of them to sort out their problems and move past them as they matured because of them.
They grew in their faith and learned to trust God more. The journey to forgiveness was wonderful. It is something that we all struggle with at some time in our lives. We can learn from seeing how these characters progress on their emotional journeys.
I was captivated by the idea that Jessica was led through her journey partially by reading notes that her great-grandfather had written in his bible. I don’t write many things in the margins of my bible, yet when I received my father’s bible the first thing I did was to look and see if he had.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher. I have chosen to write this review to express my personal opinion.

I really enjoyed this book and am looking forward to the second read in this series.
With a theme of forgiveness resounding through decades, we see how hurt people go through their daily lives, and wonder if they will be able to find the peace that God offers?
A priceless bible from an unknown great grandfather given to her with the knowledge that she will know when to pass it on. Can you imagine holding this book in your hands and reading his remarks and the verses he underlined, what a treasure.
There is a bit of sweet romance here, but there is also some heartbreak, betrayal, and death of loved ones, but there is also Hope offered here, and we are there to witness it first had through the words of the author.
I loved going back and forth between the decades, but at times I didn’t want to leave where I was, but was always happy to go back. I highly recommend this read, one you won’t want to put down.
I received this book through Net Galley and the Publisher Thomas Nelson, and was not required to give a positive review.
Who I Am with You is a beautifully written and emotionally touching story of two hurting people who help each other heal and find joy again. Jessica and Ridley are both realistic and endearing characters who have had their lives shattered and have retreated to Hope Springs, Idaho. Although they’re not looking for a relationship, they are drawn together. Robin Lee Hatcher has crafted a beautiful story of forgiveness and faith that resonated with me and kept me turning pages. The characters were so vividly drawn that I had no problem visualizing them and feeling their emotions.
Along with the contemporary story, Hatcher has woven another story line about Jessica’s great-grandfather and his life during the Great Depression in the 1930s. The two threads are linked by a family Bible handed down through the family, now in Jessica’s possession.
I’ve read some of Hatcher’s books before and always enjoyed them. This one is going on the “keeper shelf.” I’m looking forward to the next book in the series.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy from the publisher. All opinions are my own.
Who I Am With You is a unique, touching story of forgiveness. I loved how Jessica and Ridley realized they had to forgive others before they could build a relationship. Robin Lee Hatcher shared with her readers how Jessica’s great grandfather also had to give forgiveness and build a new relationship with God and with his wife. This book has two separate stories going on – one in the 1930s and one modern day. I recommend Who I Am With You to others. I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley and Barbour Publishing and was under no obligation to post a review.
What an inspirational story! I love the way the author used the tough subject of adultery and weave a beautiful story of forgiveness and hope. I feel this story can be used to minister to so many who are affected by such a betrayal. This book is a dual time line and I enjoyed both stories in each. The characters are lovable and the book was so easy to read. I really do love Hatcher’s writing style. I look forward to the next book in the series.
I give this book 4.5 stars.
*I was given a copy of the book by Thomas Nelson Publishers and was not obligated to give a review. This is my honest opinion.
