“Everyone likes a page-turner, and Follett is the best.” —The Philadelphia Inquirer“A hell of a storyteller” (Entertainment Weekly), #1 New York Times bestselling author Ken Follett reinvents the thriller with each new novel. But nothing matches the intricate knife-edge drama of Whiteout. . . . A missing canister of a deadly virus. A lab technician bleeding from the eyes. Toni Gallo, the … technician bleeding from the eyes. Toni Gallo, the security director of a Scottish medical research firm, knows she has problems, but she has no idea of the nightmare to come.
As a Christmas Eve blizzard whips out of the north, several people, Toni among them, converge on a remote family house. All have something to gain or lose from the drug developed to fight the virus. As the storm worsens, the emotional sparks—jealousies, distrust, sexual attraction, rivalries—crackle; desperate secrets are revealed; hidden traitors and unexpected heroes emerge. Filled with startling twists at every turn, Whiteout rockets Follett into a class by himself.

Lots of good suspense. It has a happy ending which was a bit contrived but satisfying.
The story was not as well written as his other books.
Very good read
Novel twist to a “terrorism threat” story. GREAT lead character.
I love all of Ken Follett’s books and this is one of them!
Follett is in an elite group of authors who produce excellent work in everything I’ve read from him. THis book is no exception. I read it a while back in hardcover, and wanted this one for my Kindle so I can re-read it.
Even though the bar is not set very high, Follett can make characters real and plots race without even trying!
I have read all of follets books, but this book was not one of his best. I struggled to finish it. I found it a little boring.
Not his best but brought up some interesting delima’s. No matter you can’t go wrong with Ken Follet
Xi have always enjoyed books by Ken Follett. This one was much different from what he generally writes. It was a little difficult to get into at the beginning.. But once into it, it became very addictive. I could hardly wait to see what happened next. You will surely enjoy this riveting Follett fare
Some of it was not too believable, otherwise, good entertainment for a plane ride
A fun, fast read!
Anything Follett writes is great. This one, although “old” could have comet out of yesterday’s headlines.
All of humanity is terrified of biological toxins that are fatal and non-fixable, and waiting to be weaponized by some psychotic eugenicist…..so the story was gripping, the heroes fallible, and the suspect self-absorbed and oblivious to the consequences of his actions. Moved well, characters believable and situation perilous. Very satisfying book, another Ken Follett win.
I enjoyed this book, great characters, exciting.
Not befitting of such a big name author, this book reads more like a romance novel not well written. Follette should stay with the historical novels. Whiteout is filled with overdescriptive crap that has nothing to do with the story. Purple prose.
A very good story that holds your interest almost to the point where you can’t put it down… A bit of a page-turner. Definitely worth reading, if only for the entertainment aspect.
Love everything Ken Follet writes!
