Just when you get out… husband, Phineas Troutt, Jack reluctantly straps on her gun and goes hunting. Hunting for the worst of the worst.
This leads to a trek across the Great Plains, searching for a modern slavery ring, on a collision course with three of the most horrible villains Jack has ever faced.
But Jack, and her irritating buddy Harry McGlade, will face them, and much more. Because they’re prepared to go to hell and back to rescue an old friend.
The trick will be getting back in one piece. And—spoiler alert—they don’t.

In my search for all things Russian-related, I stumbled upon this. I’d never read anything from the series before, so obviously I had to check it out.
The genre is a bit hard to categorize, but highly entertaining. There’s plenty of humor, plenty of action, and plenty of really gross torture. The last started to get to me as I read it, so readers beware: there’s some horrifying violence here. But there are also lots of laugh-out-loud funny moments, and a riveting plot full of twists and turns that will keep you reading–and guessing–till the end. There’s also a tough female ex-cop who is actually tough rather than just annoying, which is always a plus. Overall, recommended for action/thriller/humor fans with strong stomachs.
Definitely quirky police action packed, but not for the easily offended by #$@* language and situations. Loved all of books in this series.
A good book to spend enjoyable evening reading
This series is always a good read. This one doesn’t disappoint.
I read it all in one exciting, scary, hilarious go.
Really good book.
Good plots but again, read in order. Stories connect.
I liked it. It kept ma interested throughout.
A very different book to what I am used to reading. I enjoyed turning the pages to get to the next adventure
The rest of the story.
Very interesting book about the slave trade and drugs. Scary to think it goes on
Excellent read, get the book
Loved the plot
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. A terrific police procedural read
Love Jack Daniels
Even though multiple books in this series were published, White Russian is the first Jack Daniels book I’ve read. The premise is pretty straightforward: Herb and Tequila, friends and former colleagues, are being held as slaves. Jack and Harry take the Crimebago and head to the great plains to rescue them. Jack leaves behind her husband Phin and daughter Sam. Along as videographers are twins called Heckle and Jeckle who are streaming Harry live on the darknet. Harry and Jack both make terrible puns and crack offensive jokes, which makes the horrors of the book more bearable. And funny. This is a good read even if you’ve never read a Jack Daniels book before. It’s full of surprises and plot twists and interesting characters.
Love this series.
Love all Jack Daniel books. She’s a great character. Would recommend.
Every other chapter seems to jump back in time. The protagonist is illogical and emotional.
Could not get interested in it
