As an investigative journalist, Karina Ashworth’s job involves delving into New York’s black market of criminals and mischief where sin is almost too tempting to ignore. When she crosses paths with a man whose smile is a little too cunning—and his power a little too vast—she learns very quickly that dancing with the devil is far more enjoyable than she had ever imagined. But Uilleam Runehart is not … Uilleam Runehart is not at all what he seems, and as a notorious fixer with a thirst for power, he’ll do anything to obtain his title.
Ruthless.
Sinful.
Seductive.
How much would you pay to be a king?

GAAAH…this book was all kinds of AWESOME. I’ve been dying to know more about the Kingmaker (Uilleam Runehart) and Karina (Belladonna) every time they popped up in one of this author’s other books. So to say I had high expectations would be an understatement. However, expectations seem to be getting the better of me lately, with several books falling short in that regard. Let me just say that wasn’t the case here AT ALL. The writing was fantastic. The pace was pretty much perfect. The plot was super engaging and intricate.
This was quite a slow burn, but this couple’s on page chemistry was OFF THE CHARTS. And once we do get to the sex scenes, they were HOT. There is a good cast of secondary characters (Orion being my favorite). I wouldn’t say that this was a particularly angsty book, but if you know the history between these two then you know what is coming and it made my heart hurt to think about that (sniff). Both the main characters were extremely likable, well developed, and intriguing. Last, this one ends on a cliffhanger (with four more books to come). So do be aware of that.
SIDE NOTE: I want to give Miz Miller an extra shoutout because I greatly admire an author that can write a book(s), a FANTASTIC book(s) with little to no other women drama. There was not a SINGLE mention of the heroes past sex life in this book. No over the top crazy other women throwing themselves at him. No other women causing ridiculous drama. And most of the books I have read by this author have been like this. It is refreshing, to say the least. So I’m giving you a standing ovation London Miller (lol).
Reading this book was simply amazing.
Ever since reading Red I wanted to know more about The Kingmaker. And I have to say that never in my life did I expected a story like this.
“If anything, she was the reason he felt alive again.”
Uilleam’s quest for power is his one and only goal.As far as I could tell that is the only thing that he wants. That is until he crosses path with Karina. And then you can see the change in him. First she was just a distraction that he wanted to get rid of and then slowly she became more to him, so much more. And that is the thing that I loved the most about this book. Uilleam does seems cold and detached but he does have a heart. I loved how persistent he was. I loved how manipulative he was. I loved the way his mind works. Always one step ahead and always thinking forward.
“Your mind must be a beautiful place.”
Karina is driven and very strong minded. She is passionate and just brilliant. I loved her character .She was really adamant to find out the truth and to see who Uilleam really is. She just couldn’t resist him and I totally understand her. I loved how she stud up to him. Her character really got me. Somehow after reading Den of Mercenaries I created this image of her as one very cold person and she really surprised me in this book. She is everything but cold. I loved how she chose what her heart wanted and not something else.
The chemistry between these two is of the charts. Uilleam is so arrogant and sure of himself and Karina is determinate to resist him. I loved the games these two played.
The writing is amazing but I already knew that London Miller is amazing writer so that didn’t came as a surprise to me.
The plot is brilliant ,literary just brilliant. I was engaged the whole time and even tho this book is a long one I was really sorry when it ended. I have no idea what will happen next but I’m really eager to see what happened between these two that turned them from lovers to enemies.
I can definitely recommend this book to everyone because I’m sure that you will enjoy it.
There isn’t anything like this book and there never will be. Inventive and engaging. I cannot wait to see how this couples story ends!
White Rabbit is a hit title, because during reading this book you feel like you’ve actually fallen into a rabbit hole. London Miller can create such an amazing background for her stories that you land in a different time-space. Something beautiful!
Welcome to the criminal world in which the game of power is being played. In a world shrouded in mystery and danger. It’s said that love can be found in the strangest places. Uilleam and Karina found their right here.
Uilleam, the notorious Fixer is a figure known among criminals. Legend has it that at the right price he’s able to get rid of all your problems. You just have to pick his interest. However, the man has more ambitions and wants to climb higher on the criminal ladder. Unfortunately, with his next “job” Uilleam finds a small obstacle in the form of a beautiful Karina, who is determined that the person responsible for the crime will suffer the consequences …
Karina is a journalist and apparently leads a normal life. When a new topic is assigned to her, the woman begins to draw her own theories and thus finds the secret of the mysterious Fixer. Only is she ready to dance with the devil?
Captivating. That’s what the story described in this book is. The plot is simply addictive and the characters are fascinating. I adore Uilleam. The man is cold, composed and calculating, as well as set to his goal and persistent in his efforts. Karina, in turn, is a hard and extremely bold woman. Despite the awareness that the situation is very dangerous, it doesn’t cease in her activities. And the chemistry between these two …whoa! Although the feelings developed here slowly, through ¾ of the book I felt surrounded by the heat of these two.
White Rabbit: The Rise is definitely an addictive read. It’s lightly written, the plot is all-consuming and the author’s style makes the pages turn themselves. The whole book is perfectly polished, there are no unnecessary dramas. I hope very much that the author will take pity on me and I will not have to wait long for the continuation of this story. I feel completely unsatisfied! I need more!
White Rabbit: The Rise is one of my best reads of this year. I honestly don’t know how London is doing that kind of magic. Anytime I pick a book by her, I feel like it’s a 3D movie for my vivid imagination and my participation is crucial. Her writing style is flawless, her stories and characters overwhelm me ALL THE TIME.
I haven’t read all London’s books, but her collaboration with Bethany-Kris felt me speechless. The Season of Betrayal is one of my all time favorite mafia trilogy. Then I moved quickly to Acquainted and again it was a piece of perfection. I managed to finish Volkov Bratva and she announced The White Rabbit and I was practically screaming with excitement. As you may assume, I went completely blind with Uilleam’s story. Let’s start with two simple names: Kingmaker and Belladonna. Who in the right mind won’t be intrigued by these two names?! This whole book was brilliant start to the awesome series, I enjoyed both characters way to much, their interactions, dialogues, slow-burning mutual attraction, all these elemens together created the unforgettable experience. London is that kind of author who always keep you on edge but at the same time gives you well developed answers, clearly explains this or that decisions. Although, this particular story left with a vast amount of unanswered questions and theories about what’s coming next. The anticipation level for the next book is already killing me.
My applauses to London. I love that creative mind of yours.
This was a riveting read that I thoroughly enjoyed
I loved this read it was very different and totally unexpected in that it kept me guessing from start to finish and I loved every page. He is a man that cannot be messed with, he has a strong personality and expects to be obeyed no matter the cost.
Alice has never before known anything like this and she finds herself being snapped up and has tumbled into a dark and dangerous world where this man is in full control.
It truly is like a trip down the rabbit hole however she will follow her heart and his command and demand but she knows she that she cannot be without her.
This is a wonderful read and I know that you will be totally engrossed in this book as I myself was.
I voluntarily received and review an Advanced Reader Copy
I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the great writing.
I hate that you are made to read the next book. I prefer real endings.
Really unpredictable it wonderful read
Interesting and exciting story line.
I could not put this book down. Loved the characters, although since the book did not complete the story, I don’t know? I really dislike books that end without finishing the story.
I really enjoy this book. The author is great at character and situational development, as well as building suspense.
not impressed
I didn’t realize there are five books in this series. I finally made my way through all five only to have a semi-conclusion. Yes, it appears that the two main characters know what happened to them. It is disturbing that there are people in the world that operate the way these characters did. FYI–there are so many spelling and grammar errors in all of the books that at times the sentences are difficult to understand.
Interesting story and dilemma but could have been better. Witty dialogue would have made this book outstanding
this is one of those books you can’t start and put down for another day. so plan ahead! i so enjoyed reading this story
I didn’t realize you had to buy 3 more books to get the whole story. This one was good.
This book was all of the above!
I found it hard to put down.
Loved the story line and characters.
Read it and enjoy!
Boo
Would have given 5 stars but it is a Cliffhanger! What a disappointment! Why do authors do this. Anyways, he is in a dangerous mob and she is a reporter with a hidden past. Her mother is somehow dangerous but you don’t find out why in this book. They meet up as she is investigating a young woman’s death bc she doesn’t think it was a suicide. Loved the half book but alas I will not purchase the next one as I really do hate the cliffhanger idea
Don’t care for 2 part books, prefer stand alone
Very enjoyable – I plan to read the series!
