Oh wow, f*ck the things happening in this book is beyond imagination. Buckle up if you start reading this book. Intrigues, power plays, punishments it is all there and that is only half of it. This is the best dark book I have read so far. Sometimes I had to put the book down to catch my breath and sometimes I could not put it down. Highly recommend this super dark book.
Whoa. White Out is the darkest and one of the most gruesome books I’ve read this year. The plot twists and story line is incredibly intense and I was unable to predict what would happen next which is awesome. I love the ending, it’s exactly what I wanted. Loved it.
Please heed the warnings attached to this book. There is explicit violence, blood and gore. It is gruesome and at times down right disgusting. If you don’t have a strong stomach, don’t read this. If you’re a horror fan, pick this up immediately but please read 24690 first.
This story is the perfection of a true life horror story. A. A. Dark held absolutely nothing back while creating this masterpiece.
Everleigh is the strong heroine of the story. She has to fight for herself and also with herself. Her past torments her and at times has trouble focusing on the realality of life. Torn between being Slave/Mistress she is determined to do what is best for her no matter who she destroys in the process, as long as she gets what she craves the most, her freedom.
The power struggle between Main Masters and High Leaders become a force to be reckoned with, with only the strongest and the wisest to survive the hell that is known as Whitlock. The torture cast upon West is the most sinister of all, with what happens in the White Room and the Red Lights. They way in which A. A. Dark describes the scenes with what is happening to him is pure perfection. I’m sure the research taken to write such descriptive chapters must have been draining.
It is fantastic to,read a story where the strong men fail and a weaker woman flourished. Throughout the journey of White Out we see the birth of a strong and fearsome woman, Everleigh.
This book kept me glued to my kindle. The storyline flowed and the characters were both loved and hated by me, but mostly hated. It was like I was on a swinging pendulum going back and forth with the love and hate for Bram, West and even Everleigh.
Thanks A.A. Dark for writing what a lot of other Authors shy away from. Some of the most taboo subjects out there.xxx
This one is as cruel as the first book
I liked 24690 better, this one was just one big bloodbath and the ending really pissed me off!
One thing I’ve found out by reading this series is that I need some kind of HEA, no matter how fucked up it may be!
2.5 Stars – This became too crazy and unconvincing
The brutality in this book outshone the things that happened in the first book and there were some very vicious things that reached my limit regarding dark reads (which I never thought would ever happen). Though this book was generally not as dark as the first book or how I thought it would be, but it had some very disturbing, gruesome and pitch black scenes that almost made me sick.
If you thought the first book was bloody, wait until you read this one, you’ll have another think coming.
Although there were some scenes that almost upset my stomach, I didn’t mind reading such atrocious things. That’s also why I struggled with my rating for this book because I can’t deny the author’s talent but I just couldn’t deal with the for me inconclusive and unconvincing too crazy of a change from the main character, and that she could play all these rich and powerful men who had played this game for far longer than her.
It was all just too messed up for me and a mix between 2 and 3 stars because while I didn’t necessarily struggle with it, I just disliked too much of the ridiculous things that were going on.
At first I was really confused and didn’t know right from wrong. Everleigh changed so much; I didn’t even recognize her anymore. She definitely was no slave but a scheming bitch. Honestly, I just wanted her to be killed and have it finally over with.
The story was turning in a circle and nothing made sense anymore. She was suddenly the strongest and every one of the Masters obeyed her. It was not conclusive and it all became so ridiculous considering how powerful those men were and what this place really was. How was it possible for them to survive for so long and stay hidden when it took only one slave to turn it all around and break it down? Those men always strived for more power and it was no wonder there were conspiracies going on, but she took it to another level with her manipulation and how well of an actress she was. If you could overlook where she came from and imagined her to be older with more experience and a fresh mind from the outside, I’d have better believed in what was going on but I just did not buy into one thing regarding her character.
And what’s the actual point of the White Room?! I thought it was supposed to be for punishments, but they all got weapons to kill each other. WTF?! Why should they give the slaves the opportunity to do so when it was supposed to be degrading, a teaching of obedience and an all-out loss of power for them?! Now they got the power to kill everyone? It did not make sense at all. Not to mention where did all of those slaves suddenly come from?! It seemed like a never ending supply at the White Rooms. There wouldn’t be any left after two or three red lights, yet there were plenty. How was this never raising any suspicions on the outside when so many people disappeared?!
The thing with Bram was a mystery to me too. First, I was really confused but liked the twist of not knowing what was real and what wasn’t. It kept me hanging on to the very misleading story to find out for sure what the truth was and hoped he was alive.
I thought of a lot of paths this story could have gone down on but was very disappointed with the one it chose. There were so many possibilities but it took the worst, which is why I didn’t like the ending and a lot that was leading down to it. It all seemed too unbelievable, no matter the fictional world.
The damage was done and Everleigh was beyond gone. I don’t think she’s able to come back from all this because she was too schizophrenic to ever be normal again. She was delusional at times and beyond crazy. Her brain surely got damaged from all the beatings she had gotten over the years and she was just as psychopathic as her husband West and all the perverts at this place.
Despite everything, I’ll probably still read the next book in the hopes that it will take a huge turn around and go back to its roots because I want the true Masters to take over again and stop this unbelievable behavior of a mad woman. Also, I don’t want her to be the only one. Please bring back the other slaves and make the story great again.
Everleigh has traveled through the evils and degradation of Whitlock and Main Master West and is broken. Her mental health has been pushed over that razor edge she was balancing on. She has taken on Madter West, Main Master Whitlock and Whitlock it’s self and survived maybe not completely sand and whole but she survived. Everleigh has done some horrible things and these have made her who she is. She has a slight come back and has made it outside the walls of Whitlock will she survive is the question. This book had me at the edge with the darkness but I was cheering Everleigh on. I can`t wait to read more of her story.
Unforgettable. Word of caution, not for the faint of heart or some one easily triggered.
This series is has become my favorite read my #1 for 2016. A. A Dark has left me god damn speechless again! I’ve been left in fucking book hangover hell again and I want to shout from the rooftops and yell and share with every stranger that crosses my path about my fangirl feels with them. I feel like I’m bursting because this story from start to finish was just so fucking amazing I need to tell no I NEED to SHOVE it in everyone face and say here read this NOW! I guess I should start with YOU NEED TO READ 24690 FIRST!!!
“I was the forgotten. The discarded. The pawn in a game bigger than myself.”- 24690 Everleigh
The build up from 24690 to White Out has not slowed down one bit it’s only gotten crazier and bloodier. The story picks up right where it left off believe me it won’t stop for one second after that. A. A. Dark has weaved a twisted tale of conspiracies, turmoil, torture, revenge, and deceit keeping you trapped in the spider’s web that you won’t get out of until she’s sunk her fangs completely in.
“Sadistic thoughts pushed through- murderous little murderous little lullabies that whispered of slaughter and butchery. – 24690 Everleigh
I love a good revenge story and no story has been better than this one. Everleigh has grown from meek mouse to Mistress Death herself. I couldn’t help the smile though most of this book. It’s so hard to say everything you want to say without giving anything away I will say one thing Whitlock is one twisted fucked up place and I can’t get enough.
“Make a wish, Everleigh”- Bram
