Sweet romance, but predictable
This book shows the importance of open communications. A good and lasting life means you have to talk to each other.
Although I am a fan of most of Debbie Macomber’s books, this is not one of them. These was written very early in her writing career, and unfortunately, it shows.
I usually like Debbie Macomber, but this one is not up to her usual standards. This book is so trite, it would not even make a poor Hallmark Channel movie. Couple marries in great haste, then has one misunderstanding after another. One or two, maybe, but it just goes on and on. Couldn’t finish it.
A truly wonderful read.
Interesting story – early McComber. Did not seem to have he depth that she developed in later books, but a good summer afternoon read.
Didn’t realize it was an older book until the last. Trite IMO. Newer reads are more to my liking.
Soporific
How could a reader go wrong with Debbie Macomber? As usual, she delivers a story that pulls the reader right in. It’s always amazing how fast the book is finished when you become so immersed in the characters in the book. Great, fast read!
Disappointing
Reading this book was very frustrating and irritating! The two main characters were always in conflict because they DID NOT TALK to each other!! They were always thinking the same thing and having the same feelings about everything but would not share their feelings! So…more fighting beteen them! I guess that if they would have just TALKED there would not have been a book, which in this case would have been a good thing!
I have read one other Macomber book and enjoyed it Sure did not like this one!
