USA TODAY BESTSELLER • A classic novel from fan favorite Debbie Macomber, this is an emotional story about fighting for happiness and holding on for true love. Marrying Glenn Lambert was either the smartest thing Maggie Kingsbury has ever done or the craziest mistake of her life. Best friends as children, they went their separate ways until a chance encounter at a wedding inspires this … wedding inspires this spontaneous leap of faith. How could she resist the sweet spell of a moonlit night and whispers of devotion guaranteed to melt her heart? But past disappointments and unhealed emotions soon start to wreak havoc with their vows.
Glenn knew his heart was bruised when he asked Maggie to marry him. But he meant every word; he’s sure they belong together. In so many ways, they’re still strangers, but the love he has inside tells him that no matter what happens, it’s Maggie he wants forever. Whatever it takes, he’ll prove she’s the only woman for him.

not her best
No No No. Tiring! Had to make myself finish after the umpteenth childish ‘misunderstanding’.
Love all of Debbie Macomber’s books. Easy read and makes you feel good
I love Debbie Macomber books but this one I just couldn’t get into. I would read a little and go start another book. Finally about a third of the way through I gave up.
Good book with interesting twists. Good book with which to wind down in the evening.
Anything Debbie writes is such a treat.
Loved it
Usually love her books. This was not one I would recommend.
Enjoyed it!!
I did not like the characters in this book and found their relationship unhealthy.
I used to think Debbie MacComber never disappoints. Now I think she usually does not. White Lace and Promises is the story of two members of a wedding, inspired by the ceremony, and remembering their past youthful friendship, also getting hitched.
The story suffers from too few supporting characters, too little or too much conflict, and is repetitive in places. Everything Debbie MacComber is not! I recommend reading “Montana” or one of her other excellent books.
Such realistic characters
As always, Debbie McComber tells a good story.
I don’t believe people are that stupid to keep not trusting and doubting each other over small issues.
Great author and great characters.
This book by Debbie Macomber is the first of her works I have read and that disappointed me. I chose not to finish it, and was not surprised that other readers agreed with my assessment. It was not up to her standards, and frankly was a bit on the “sappy” side.
Love her books.
As with all of her books it was very enjoyable.
Not her best book.
Good story. Many twist and turns.
