I so loved it
I won this copy of the book and I am not required to give a favorable review. This was one of those books that shows women in uniform can be great examples for little girls. Sadie is a deputy sheriff in the mom to division. The first time she saw Ryan was at an accident scene in front of the hospital he is a ER doctor at, the next time is when she finds his daughter. He’s a widower, Callie is is life. Callie hero worships Sadie, can they make it work.
This is the first book in a spin-off of the Iron Orchids series. Sadie is realativly new to being a motors deputy, but she has been on the force for years. She has a great group of female friends who are also part of the police department. She first meets Ryan at the scene of an accident. He is a widower and single father, as well as an E.R. doctor. After their first interaction fate brings them together again when Sadie helps his daughter. Will they be able to begin a relationship with the demands of their jobs and other responsibilities or will outside forces end them before they even have a chance to begin? There were a few places where the writing seemed a little choppy and confusing and I felt like I was missing something, but overall a good read.
Ryan and Sadie story, she is a motorcycle cop, he is a doctor. They meet at an accident and sparks fly. Ryan has a past, he lost his wife, and the father of the missing child Sadie got a called for. This story is realistic, the emotions and characters, you will find yourself enjoying this story and want for the characters to pull through.
Absolutely loved Book ‘Em Sadie! Danielle Norman has done it again and has reenforced my love of her books. Another don’t miss series. I love how it continues the style of Iron Orchids and just continues along and includes them. No one is left behind. I can’t praise these books enough. Go buy them otherwise you are missing out on some amazing sexy, funny reads.
What an amazing start to this new series, I loved Sadie and Ryan and Ryan’s beautiful, adorable daughter Callie, getting to know the rest of the gang and catching up with some old favourites from the previous series.
Book ‘Em Sadie is book one in the new Iron Badges Series, and the ladies (and gents) of Orange County Sheriffs Station. Sadie Lazar is a motorcycle deputy, living her dream job day in, day out. Ryan Montgomery is an ER Doctor at Florida Hospital, after becoming a widower 4 years ago, Ryan spends his time either working or looking his daughter, no woman has caught his eye since his wife died, that is until he crosses paths with Sadie.
The story has everything you want and expect from a Danielle Norman Book, kick ass women who can take care of themselves, women you can’t help laughing with, and want to go on a night out with, a hot, single father who will do everything he can for his daughter whilst also perusing Sadie and a storyline that gives and gives. I highly recommend this book to everyone.
This was fantastic! I love it….I kept hearing ‘girls just want to have fun’ song rolling through my head as I read. It was crass, it was bold and strong female role models all the way down to 6 year old Callie. I laughed, I growled and I awed.
I laughed so hard I almost hurt myself. Sadie, Ryan, and little Callie stole my heart. Tragic feels, scary moments, and hilarity don’t normally work well together but here…. it works excellently! Can’t wait for the next in the series.
Nice easy read with some angst, crazy in laws, sweet kids and adventure. Lovely characters, who have quite a journey to their HEA.
A fast, entertaining read
I’d read and enjoyed a couple of the author’s Iron Orchid series so when I saw this first book of a new spin-off series, I was excited to get a chance to read it. While there are some fairly brief mentions of characters from the earlier series (both the Orchids and the Iron Ladies), you don’t need to have read any of the earlier books to enjoy this. I would say having that background would add a little more to your experience here, though.
When the author managed to break my heart for both Sadie and Ryan in the span of the first few pages, I was surprised as I remembered a lot of humor in the previous books I‘d read, but the angst was relatively brief and used to set up the rest of the story. I love when authors give their characters something in common as it adds a lot to the believability factor for me, so that both Sadie and Ryan have suffered a loss as they did not only gives them a way to connect, but also sets the stage for Sadie’s ability to connect with Ryan’s daughter, Callie, in a realistic way.
Don’t worry though, the laughs I expected soon appeared—Wasabi! The visual image of a three pound poodle with a Fu Manchu beard and a Mohawk not only cracked me up, I could completely relate to keeping chairs pushed in under the table to keep a little rat dog off of it, lol. I loved Ryan and Callie as well as Sadie and her friends from the sheriff’s department. I’ve read quite a few stories where the main male character is a first responder, but not many with the female, so Sadie as a motorcycle deputy was a great hook. With Ryan as a doctor, the two had something else in common: sharing the knowledge of what it’s like to cope with a job that isn’t always 9-5, where you see both best and worst of humanity, and where you literally have the lives of other people in your hands.
Besides the dog and Callie, I have already mentioned Sadie’s friends. These are great secondary characters, as I’d expect for the beginning of a new series, and the author already has me looking forward to getting their stories. There were a couple love to hate characters, as well, lol.
There were a few things that kept this from being a full five stars for me, and the theme is missed opportunities for more depth from the characters. I expected Ryan to have issues with Sadie’s job putting her at risk (especially considering his wife’s death), and while there is a scene where it’s briefly touched on, I never got any sense Ryan ever dealt with those extremely reasonable fears. I also expected Ryan to have some qualms about starting things up with Sadie, say, maybe a little guilt at finding someone new or worry about Callie getting attached too quickly, but he didn’t have either. Then near the end, some attitudes changed so completely and so quickly, when I just thought they needed a little more time to get there considering the circumstances.
At the end of the day, if you’re looking for a fast, entertaining read with lots of laugh, a bit of heat, and lots of great characters that will have you looking forward to the next stories in the series, this is your book. 4 stars

This was a great start to a new series. I caught myself laughing out loud more than once, and the steamy parts were extra steamy. I think I fell in love with Callie. The characters are well written and relatable, their banter back and forth is perfectly executed. I cannot wait for the next one!
If you have never read any Danielle Norman books before then be prepared because they are amazing!!!! Book’em Sadie will have you laughing one minute and crying the next. I would love to give you a spoiler so I will leave you with this: if you love strong women and alpha males then this book and Danielle Norman is the writer for you
This was the first book in Iron Badges and it was AMAZING! I absolutely loved everything about it. I loved hearing about the characters from other series and Callie stole my heart from the start!
I enjoyed the story, allot of funny situations in the book. Best of all.. How Danielle wrote the story to make you realize that in the end family is important…. Great read
Danielle Norman did it again! Another great book!! Hot Men, Kick-A$$ tough women and romance what more could you ask for!
Book ’em Sadie is the first in a new series Iron Badges about Motorcycle cops. I absolutely love this Sadie is a strong independent women but falls hard for a widowed doctor and his 6 year old daughter. Another winner by Danielle Norman I highly, recommended this great story
I was given an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.
This is Sadie story and I think that this book is really good and I can not wait for the next one to come out. This book made me laugh, cry, and wanted to grab the grandmother and slap her a few times to make her get her head on straighter
OH did I ever love this book. I mean it has everything. Strong Female characters who are sassy, independant and take no lip, after all they are all connected to the Sheriff’s Department. These are not your typical women as they all ride motorcycles and are bad to the bone. Yet the do have their softer sides and hilarious sides especially on girls night out. Kudo’s to the author for keeping me entertained and glued to the pages with Book’em Sadie.
This is Sadie and Ryan’s story. Sadie is a motorcycle cop and Ryan is a widowed ER Doctor with a precocious young daughter named Callie, who I simply adored. Their story kept me smiling and grinning throughout, well except for a few people who will remain nameless that I just wanted to slap upside the head. The story touched my heart and and had me laughing to the point of tears. 2 Thumbs Up and 5 stars for a heartfelt storyline that is the beginning of what I feel will be an outstanding series. I can’t wait for the next book in the Iron Badges series.
Love Sadie and Ryan’s story. Sadie is this bad ass motorcycle cop and Ryan is a widower, a single dad and an ER Doctor. Sadie lost her mom when she was just a child and now volunteers her time helping other children who have lost a parent. Ryan lost his wife 4 years ago and is raising his daughter on his own. Sadie and Ryan’s story is emotional.
If you loved the Iron Orchids series then you will love this new one. Its a brilliant spin off from the original girls we have grown to love and it was lovely seeing them again with some cameo appearances.
Danielle has yet again delivered us some addicting, sexy, feisty, kickass women that draw you in and make you feel like you have known them all your life.
I loved Sadie, she was sexy, independent and determined, having finally got to where she wants to be, in Motors. She is now a motorcycle cop doing what she loves. In the course of her job she meets the sexy, panty melting Dr Ryan Montogomery. He’s a widower with a heart stealing little 6 year old, Callie.
What I loved most about Ryan is that even though he has not been with anyone since his wife died 4 years previously, soon as he see’s Sadie he doesn’t fight or run the feelings he starts feeling towards her. He Embraces them.
Meeting all the other women of the Iron Badges I am looking forward to reading their tales, especially Harley and Aiden (hopefully)
I fell in love with the Iron Orchids and that love is continuing with the Iron Badges books! I received a review copy of this book to read pre-release and I’m so glad that I didn’t have to wait for it! The whole gang (I know, we’re not a gang!!) is back and Sadie is everything I hoped she would be – tough, honourable, kick-ass and funny. It was great to see her get her HEA!
