The Hidden Legacy series by #1 New York Times bestselling author Ilona Andrews continues as Nevada and Rogan navigate a world where magic is the norm…and their relationship burns hotNevada Baylor has a unique and secret skill—she knows when people are lying—and she’s used that magic (along with plain, hard work) to keep her colorful and close-knit family’s detective agency afloat. But her new … colorful and close-knit family’s detective agency afloat. But her new case pits her against the shadowy forces that almost destroyed the city of Houston once before, bringing Nevada back into contact with Connor “Mad” Rogan.
Rogan is a billionaire Prime—the highest rank of magic user—and as unreadable as ever, despite Nevada’s “talent.” But there’s no hiding the sparks between them. Now that the stakes are even higher, both professionally and personally, and their foes are unimaginably powerful, Rogan and Nevada will find that nothing burns like ice …

Love love love this series! Unique character abilities for fantasy. Lots of action.
I totally enjoyed White Hot. I hadn’t read the first book in the Hidden Legacy series, but I had absolutely no trouble jumping in by reading this first. Except, it was so good that I immediate had to go back and read Burn for Me. Additive and fast-paced, I highly recommend this novel and series to anyone who loves action combined with fantasy and romance.
While we go thru the changeover from, Nevada point of view to Catalina’s. We also transition from our beloved narrator Ms. Raudman to the welcomed new voice of Ms. Rankin. This story was a refreshing way to tie up the old story line and move forward with a new leading charater and a new narrator. While Catalina’s powers and back story will bring me back for the next book. I can only hope Ms. Rogan is there to help Catalina along the way. I already love Rogan’s mother, and the bedazzler!
I love anything by this author. This book is outstanding – keeps you interested all the way. The characters are different and interesting, love how they interact and the plot is great!
A new writer team I discovered this year to my absolute delight. Fast paced, witty and full of great characters
The magical action, the witty banter-and good gravy!-the steamy chemistry..
Holy smokes! Two years of waiting for another dose of Connor Rogan and Nevada Baylor was definitely worth it!
Great sequel to Burn for me. Characters and story pick up shortly after first book
and just get better. Read it.
I avidly read everything Ilona Andrews writes as soon as I can get it. If you do not read this author, you have my pity.
Glad I started this series, really enjoying the characters.
This is a great, fun, action packed read.
Great beginning, like other Andrews series the story has an ending but it also has a back story that will continue on in the next books of the series. Enjoyed it a lot!
Love this book, love this series. These authors are exceptional. I have read this trilogy more than once. The audio version is also great. I love Nevada and Rogan. All of the characters are great. Nevada’s family and their interactions are so memorable. Nevada’s internal dialog is so funny. Highly recommend but you may want to start with the first book “Burn for me”. Each book has a complete plot with an overall story arc covering the trilogy.
The three books on the series were very good, best read on order.
Be still my beating heart… These authors never disappoint.
I love all the books from this couple!
My favorite of Andrews’ series — and Ilona Andrews is on my top 5 buy-the-book-new-the-week-it-comes-out list. If you like urban fantasy, strong female leads, strong male leads that like strong females, and can handle some gory monster violence (I sometimes just skip that), then this (and the entire series) is for you. Can’t say enough good . . .
I was immersed in the Magical Houston world the author built. She was informative without going overboard. The characters were wonderful and you rooted for each and every one of them. The cliff hanger at the end had me searching for the next book immediately. Overall a fun read. I did read this book out of order as at least one previous book was mentioned throughout this book. Even out of order a fantastical read!
I love recommending books to my friends… hell, I even like recommending them to my enemies.
This book I would recommend to the devil himself, and to God—if she’s in the Paranormal Romance/Urban Fantasy mood.
White Hot is the perfect title for this, the second book in the Hidden Legacy series by Ilona Andrews (my hands down favorite author). (Burn for Me was the first of the series)
All of Ilona’s best traits are on full display here: great characters, a heroine to root for, an alpha hero to hate/love/wannahavehisbaby, and seat-of-your-pants pacing. And somehow she sneaks in the very best romance one minute, hysterical comedy the next, and then Wham! AWESOME VIOLENCE!
She uses the word velvet… well, she uses it a lot. But I cannot wait for Wild Fire, book 3 to come out in July.
*Spoiler Alert!*
Funny side note: I stopped reading Fifty Shades of Gray a few years back because of the first date helicopter scene. I mean, what kind of guy needs a helicopter on a first date! (I’ve seen the movie, and now see it as both sexy and romantic… but still kinda silly). When Rogan shows up with a helicopter at the end of this book… well, it’s not silly at all. It’s like his way of taking her with him on a very Rogan Happily Ever After (HEA).
To say I was thrilled when I opened the pages of White Hot is an understatement. My paperback is much loved and one of the few that have spine bends. Ilona Andrew’s is one of my go-to authors of all time!!
In this installment, we meet Nevada Baylor again, and she is determined to use her new and burgeoning talents for good. She may save the day, but the consequences are astronomical.
She also teams up again with the billionaire hottie Mad Rogan to find the killer of her new client’s wife and his men. This time her resolve is weakening, and she allows herself to feel. Just a little.
White Hot is just that! So so so so hot that it burns white. There are so few words that can express just how much I love this series. I love it as much as I love the Night Huntress series by Jeaniene Frost. Exceptional world building. Fantastic character development and just the right amount of magic.
5 Stars, a tip of my Nerd Girl hat and a hand clap!!! Yippeeee! Can’t wait until the next book in the trilogy.
