I love this series. I know that you probably don’t have very many people who are as into the series as individual books. I love being able to follow individuals through multiple books name. I dislike the feeling that you get when a book leaves you hanging on the more.
This has to be the best yet of the series!!!! I love how Rock and Hope are together. the way they compliment eachother and their quirks. Hope’s strength and loyalty was put to the test….and she showed how strong of a person she really is. and her devotion to Rock…..well not really just to Rock….but to the MC family….made me love her even more!!! I enjoyed the banter between the guys and how strong they all were and just how they interact with one another. They are a true family. I cannot wait for more books in this series!!! I hope Autumn keeps them coming….not alot of series keep me interested past the 2nd book….but here we are at book 5….and I need more!!!!
will recommend to all my friends!!! because I don’t believe you have to love MC books to enjoy the sseries…..the storyline is so good…..you could just get into these books and fall inlove!!!!
When I first read Autumn Jones Lake’s work last summer, I said I was ridiculously impressed with the story of the Lost Kings MC and its colorful band of characters and six books later I am STILL ridiculously impressed.
Autumn Jones is thorough. I commend her in her ability to be very detail oriented in her story telling yet not boring the begeesus out of the reader. I won’t lie and say every second of her story is riveting and nail-biting, but it’s all important and needs to be said. Because she doesn’t just write about the MC members themselves, she also writes about the club. The story of the club is an outer arc she follows thru all her books, so they need to be thorough and detailed.
She’s also very good with the sexy sensual part of her story. She knows when to make it gritty and dirty but also loving and sensual when need be. The woman can draw you a picture with her words and make you feel like you’re in the room! #TRUST
I’ve always been on #TeamHope and this book solidified the confidence I already had in her. She was definitely tested in this book. Her love not only for Rock, but also for the MC family. When you first meet Hope, she gives the impression that she might be meek and shy but you would be wrong. When the Lost Kings needed her to step up, she stepped up. Like I always knew she would. I am so ridiculously happy that Autumn chose to write Hope the way she did from the beginning to now. Her growth has been exponential, but her loyalty and trust has never wavered and never needed to grow. It was always there.
The story-line in White Heat is shared between Hope & Rock and Trinity & Wrath, but the focus of the story is Hope & Rock and their wedding. There’s one thing that Autumn does very well and that is the continuation of the sub-plot and integration of all secondary characters. Because altho some will say White Heat is the story of the road to the wedding, it’s really not. It’s the story of everyone. Every single member has a reason. And again, that’s because Autumn makes sure the club also grows in her stories.
White Heat is going to make you laugh, scream, cry and even sigh a few times. It’s a story of strength. Strength in one’s self and strength in one’s world around us. It’s a story of loyalty and love and honor, but above ALL, it’s a story of faith and hope.
It’s ridiculously good and shouldn’t be missed by anyone who loves the MC world.
I loved that the author kept the story going because I wasn’t finished with Rock and Hope and thankfully neither was she!
MUST READ Story of the year!!!! multiple person POVs makes this story loads better and a lot more to the story that unfolds. Makes some of the other stories in the series make more sense, I do however recommend reading the first story Slow Burn so your not lost come this amazing and wonderfully written story. Wow holy amazing, hats off to this amazing and very talented author. I had to take my time reading this story, only because I didn’t want it over before I knew it. lol of course that didn’t happen I did stop a lot so I could really enjoy this story. Autumn has done an amazing job with the characters, the story line and the story itself.
***I received this story for free in exchange for an honest review, see more of my review @ http://jmhoward2007.blogspot.com/2016… ***
If I could give more than 5 stars I definitely would!! I absolutely loved this book and I know you will too!!! Starting White Heat was like checking in with old friends I REALLY missed!! I had the problem of wanting to read as fast as possible to find out what happens but I wanted to take as long as possible so it wouldn’t end too quickly, it was torture to see the progress and see how much closer I was getting towards the end. The backdrop of White Heat is Rock and Hope’s upcoming wedding, but the story has much more in it and I was put through many emotions, from laughing out loud to my eyes welling up in sadness. I was also quite angry at one point and I promise you that you will know exactly when it happens!! I don’t talk specifics because I want you to experience this fantastic story for yourself and I didn’t even mention the scorching sex that will leave you all hot and bothered!! I feel like a junkie and LOKI is my drug of choice!!! I REALLY wish the next book was done now, but I will bide my time until then, because Autumn assures the reader that there will be more, thankfully!! So make sure you read the whole book with Autumn’s comments afterwards, it gave my spirits a little boost after the sadness of finishing another awesome LOKI book. Go, read it, NOW!!!
Another stunning MC Romance. Quite possibly my favorite of the series. I love how Rock and Hope’s and Wrath and Trinity’s stories were blended together in this beautiful book. It’s so much more than a “wedding” book. It’s a beautiful story. Hope is a true Queen of the Lost Kings MC!
Love thes men they all appear on the outside big and bad but you see into their hearts and realize they have a sensitive side that we all love.
Rock has the girl, Hope is now one of the family, all that is left is to make it legal
and marry Hope.
A threat turns up as the wedding gets close. Will it go on as planned or will hope be left standing alone.
I LOVE LOVE L-O-V-E!!!!! ALL of the LOKI books. Autumn has a way of really making you feel like you know these characters. (And her since apparently I’m on a first name basis) I love that these guys are tough but have such big hearts. A great series to escape to!
I will never get enough of Rock and Hope! Things test Hope but she’s the First Lady we know she is. Love, love, loved it. I like the way the guys take care of her. Love these guys!
I didn’t think it was possible to love characters even more than I already do but it is. Holy hell did Autumn Jones Lake exceed my expectations. When I reached the final page I just wished I hadn’t read it, just so I could start all over again. White Heat did all the right things. The characters showed strength and vulnerability. GROWTH! There was some beautiful surprises along this amazing journey. But to get there I was put through the wringer. All worth it of course.
But my main reason why I love this series and especially this book, is this truly is an ensemble where everyone is important. Yes, there’s main characters like Rock, Hope, Wrath and Trinity but all the secondary characters matters as well. What they all experience matter and there’s a story to them. I very much feel connected to all of them and that’s not every time that happens to me.
Hope Kendall! What to say about her except she truly is a queen. What a heroine! I loved what Autumn Jones Lake made her go through. The growth and strength she showed was awe inspiring. It’s not often I love a heroine but Hope was it for me. Damn, that lady is fierce and kick ass when needed. Her love and strength for Rock but also the MC family cemented that for me. Respect!!
Rochlan North! What a man! What a president! I’ve always had a soft spot for him since the first book, Slow Burn. In White Heat he showed all the qualities I knew he possessed and fell even more in love with him. I loved his strength and the choices he had to make was typical Rock. What he had to go through proves that. His love for his queen was consuming, seductive and addictive as hell. These two truly are each other’s anchor.
Then there’s Wyatt(Wrath) and Trinity. Also they surprised me. I could go on and on, because as I mentioned earlier this truly is an ensemble piece where everyone matters. This book has to be experienced but I would definitely recommend, that one start from the beginning. With Slow Burn to get the full experience of this amazing MC, The Lost Kings. They truly are one unit. One family and I’m glad to be a part of it.
***SLIGHTLY SPOILER-ISH***
It felt so good to get back to Rock & Hope! They are by far my favorite characters, so I was very excited that they got another book!
Once again, Rock & Hope had to work hard for their happy but it was well worth it. It was full of surprises, b****es, buttheads & the best sex scenes Rock & Hope have ever had!
Really liked how Hope went with Rock’s dress suggestion, the way she handled herself while Rock was gone, the tattoo she got Rock for a wedding gift & the fun times her & Rock shared when he came home. The King & Queen definitely showed why they are the #1 couple of the series in this one! 🙂
And I’ve gotta say something about these characters-
Murphy… WTF?! Inviting Serena to the wedding? Correct me if I’m wrong but you care about Heidi, right? Yeah, she has a boyfriend but STOP rubbing your exploits in her face. Period.
Sophie… Ugh. #MegaB**** Her excuse for her behavior was pathetic. Glad she wasn’t at the wedding & hope she doesn’t reappear in the series again.
Mariella… Not too keen on her. She’s looking like a been-there-done-that plot line & it doesn’t interest me. Fingers crossed that she doesn’t hook up with Teller.
Trinity… I’m kinda over the Trinity love-fest that’s going on in the series. I like her & all but it’s not necessary for EVERY character to constantly praise her for EVERY little thing she does in EVERY book. I get it. She’s awesome. Let’s move on. All the guys don’t need to trip over their feet for her. *insert eye-roll here*
Looking forward to (but a little scared for) the next book in the series, More Than Miles. This love triangle between Murphy, Heidi & Axel has heartache written all over it. #Eeek
P.S. for Trinity… Really?! You thought that Hope might want to be “comforted” by another brother while Rock was away? Good gods. *smh*
Favorite Quotes:
I’m sure she expected some scary bikers today. Instead all she’s finding are a bunch of whipped men whose women lead them around by their dicks. Oh well.
Rock, if we get any busier, my business will be raw.
Close your mouth, you look like you got kicked in the head by a mule.
My Review:
I am chirping like a happy bird as Autumn Jones Lake has completed yet another stellar installment of her unique brand of MC romance. I adore her honest, true, and faithful alpha men who adore and worship their feisty women. Written from the point of view of four different characters, the story is smooth, engrossing, and erotically steamy, and alternates between emotive and humorous. The characters are fresh and original, and while they remain flawed and on the outskirts of society – they are surprisingly honorable. However, they are still MC outlaws and remain edgy enough to be more than a bit scary. I have greatly enjoyed each book in this series and will eagerly await the next one. More, please.
Freaking loved this book!!! I had so much faith in Hope throughout this book! She is definitely a loyal ol’ lady and steps up when she needs to and defends her man with everything she has. I’m such a huge fan of Rock and Hope and I’m so glad this book was written! I also love it had Trinity and Wrath’s POV too and we got more from them! I’m so happy for those 2! They’ve been through so much and everything is finally coming together for them! I’m so excited to read more about them and all the other LOKI characters!!
This series just gets better and better. With each book I am pulled deeper into the story. I love the growth that each of the characters have and find myself wishing for more. In this book we find out how strong Hope really is, how level headed Wrath can be, and how organized Trinity can be. When I started this book I thought I was going to have more sweet romance and looked forward to more of the wedding plans. Who knew the LOKI family was going to have the floor pulled out from under their feet. I struggled with parts of this storyline and kept waiting for the other shoe to drop. This is another fun, sexy, stressful, complex read. I can’t wait to read the next book, More Than Miles.
I am obsessed with the Lost Kings. This book has four POV’s: Rock, Hope, Wrath, and Trinity. So awesome! Rock and Hope’s wedding plans are threatened but their love is too great to be denied. Their bond is stronger than ever. I loved it!
Another Glorious Lost Kings MC Installment… Six books in and I still cannot get enough of Autumn Jones Lake’s Lost Kings MC series. Over 3000 review words written, and still there is so much more for me to say, as Lake here again, has birthed another glorious Lost Kings (LOKI) book. I’ve said this before, and it warrants saying again, Lake’s LOKI world is unlike any other MC series I’ve read to date. It’s honest, relatable, suspenseful and dark, yet heartfelt, and overall (and most importantly) unapologetically brave. And “White Heat”, the fifth full length addition to LOKI is all of the above and another beautiful example of why I love this series, and this author, so flipping much!
“White Heat” is a continuation of Rochlan and Hope’s journey. It is a pure, love filled and ferocious conclusion to this chapter in Rock and Hope’s lives and defiantly sets a broader stage for bigger things to come. You will come to love Hope, Wrath, Z, and Murphy even more as they fight for their chosen family in this suspense filled rollercoaster of a book. You will happily endure the emotional whiplash as you are thrown from predicament to predicament through each chapter. And you will quickly bolt up and shout “W.T.F!?!” as the reality of what is going on fully sinks into you. And unlike the other installments you won’t immediately know what is coming where, as this book shifts from the microcosm of just Hope and Rock, or Wrath and Trinity, to the larger LOKI universe, seamlessly incorporating almost every character introduced thus far. It is a unification of every story, every interaction, and every seemingly innocent coincidence. Bringing a kaleidoscope of circumstances colliding together and exploding in such a way that puts every Lost King on equal footing as they pull together to exonerate their Prez and protect their Queen.
And I couldn’t get enough!
Once again, Lake is brilliantly methodical with her prose, her attention to detail unmatched. With each chapter shining a bit more light on the interactions, intentions, problems, people, places, and everyday things from the books before it. Each paragraph moving you slowly forward like a specter stalking you in the night, reaching out bit by bit, slowly sinking its teeth into you, ripping your senses from your soul, forcing you deeper into its dark underbelly, all while you politely ask for more. And make no mistake, you will ask for more.
After this installment, you will beg Lake to never stop writing these books, something I do not say lightly!
I have a confession to make; I often lament series books as they frequently focus on one or two main characters and neglect others regardless of their overall importance within the plot. It is something I have often talked about in my reviews, how this book or that would be worth four or five stars if only they had followed through with secondary characters more. If only they had not forgotten key aspects of the story that were seemingly important in early chapters only to be forgotten later on. It is in all honestly, my biggest pet peeve aside from typos and sloppy editing. Lake however could teach a master class on how series writing should be done as her LOKI universe is a true ensemble affair. And “White Heat” epitomizes her masterful story writing! She recognizes the importance of all her characters, she understands their worth, and she bravely puts them, and all their flaws, fears, insecurities, and traumas onto the page. Her love and devotion for every character fiercely infused into every chapter. And it is glorious.
This was a touching story of Rock and Hope’s continued love with updates on Wrath/Trinity and the rest of the crew. I found myself getting a little bored with the interactions and love fest going on and skipped pages quite a few times. While I love Rock and Hope’s love story (book 1 was and still remains a 5+ stars) I’m a little tired of focusing completely on them. I still recommend this book if you’re following the story and as the author states in her notes at the end of the book, there are a lot of readers who can’t get enough of Rock and Hope. (
I love how this book had so many POV’s, drama and twist. This series just keeps getting better and better.
