Emma is a young lady in her 20’s who develops breast cancer. The author does a good job of describing her feelings of how she would feel and react to get such news. She does have family history. Griffin is a Dom at a club she frequents as a sub and Emma has had the hots for him for a long time. What she doesn’t know is that he is just as into her as she is into him! Her room mate’s boyfriend sets them up in the club and the sparks fly!
Griffin is such a good guy! I want a book boyfriend like him! He is there for her for everything! Chemotherapy, biopsy surgery, after hospital care, you name it, he is the real deal! And I loved his family! Her family, not so much. This book is such a fun, quick read. You can read it in a couple hours sitting. There were a few typos, but no major editing errors. Cudos to a fun, quick read that will bring a smile to your heart.

This emotionally-charged romance is light on the kink but heavy on the angst. Emma is facing a possible cancer diagnosis, and finds support in the arms of the one man she’s crushed on for years but thought was way out of her league.
Griffin has had his eye on Emma for the entire time she’s been a member at Club Equinox, a kink club that is practically his second home. When a mutual friend puts them together, he realizes she’s ready for the kind of relationship he craves, and the timing puts him with her just when she needs him most.
This story pays tribute to those affected by breast cancer, without being maudlin or cloying. It beautifully walks the tightrope between issue-driven and romance-driven, making for a steamy love story that cuts right to the heart of what a relationship should be. My only complaint is that I wanted it to be longer, with more time spent developing these wonderful characters. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
This one looks like a really good read!
A beautiful story of a young woman given devastating news just as her life begins to flourish. The characters were interesting with him as a Dom and her as a submissive. The BDSM aspect was present in the entire book and was woven wonderfully with the story of her fight to survive. Emotional and well written, I enjoyed this book.
What a ride…. Wow. I mean seriously, wow.
That was one hell of a read. I am not sure that I even know where to begin writing a review for this because it is truly an awesome experience.
It was like these were real people and this situation could be real. I really thought this book was an awesome addition to the genre. Great character development, steamy sex scenes and twists and turns to be able to sink into the book.
This book is Amazing so get to it!

Emma is diagnosed with breast cancer and she feels her life is over. Her best friend and roommate Kate talks her into going out to Club Equinox a bdsm club they belong to. Griffin a Dom has been waiting for a chance with the beautiful curvy Emma, but is afraid he will be too strict of a Dom for her. That night his friend Seth talks him into helping Emma relax. When he finds out about her cancer he promises to be right by her side. Only she’s worried it will be too much for him and that he will walk away. Can he prove to her that he loves her and will always be there for her? This is a beautiful story that has light bdsm, but will also have you reaching for the tissues!

Wow, what a powerful, beautiful, sentimental, feel good story! This author has a wonderful way with words that allows you to feel empathy with the characters. Emma faces a diagnosis of Breast cancer and this story tells of the support she receives from friends and strangers. You will need tissues for this one as it is a tear jerker in places. I loved following Emma and Griffin’s story. Emma’s fears are extremely realistic and Griffin’s support is wonderful to see. This story makes you believe in hope.
AN EXAMPLE OF STEADFAST LOVE AND SUPPORT
A very in your face book about breast cancer that shows how people react and how being strong and positive can help you through some of the worst times in your life. It also helps when you have someone by your side who stays with you no matter what. Having hope and Griffin in her life, Emma made it through surgery and life with the unwavering support from Griffin’s family and some from her own. An eye-opener on the fact that you can get breast cancer at an early age.
This is a book rich with complex and difficult topics. Insecurity about being overweight, BDSM, family estrangements, and cancer. These are hard subjects to be made readable for many but Author Nyx has managed them gently and tactfully. She has a way of describing characters and scenes in real detail to fully engage you. So if any of these topics intrigue you, you will enjoy this novella and delight in its happy ending.
* I received an ARC but am leaving an honest and voluntary review *
What a powerful read, it starts with a bang for sure! No mucking around here- straight to the heart of the story.
It touches on a very sensitive topic but was written with respect and compassion. A credit to the author.
My favourite quote came from Emma, the female lead character:
“I realized something the last few days. I have two choices here. I can let the terror control me, let it rule my life, or I can choose to let faith and hope rule my life.”
Hope is a reoccurring word in this story. If you decide to give it a read (and I strongly suggest you do) you will understand why.
It is a little sweet, a little steamy, a little romantic. It is part dramatic, part heartwarming and part unsettling (in a good way).
Although it was a quick read, I have never read a book like this before and it really hit home how life can change in a instant.
Great read, highly recommend it
Thank you for sharing your story with me, Angel Nyx.
