In WHISPERS AT SEASIDE…
Having a mad crush on her boss’s son, Matt Lacroux—an intriguing mix of proper gentleman and flirtatious bad boy—is probably not the smartest idea for single mother Mira Savage. Especially when the company, and her job, is already on shaky ground. But as a Princeton professor, Matt’s life is hours away from Mira’s home on Cape Cod, keeping him safely in the fantasy-only zone. And as a single mother to six-year-old Hagen, with a floundering company to save, fantasies are all she has time for.
With hopes of becoming dean off the table, and too many months of longing for a woman who lived too far away to pursue, Matt’s publishing contract couldn’t have come at a better time. He heads home to Cape Cod on a brief sabbatical, intent on starting his book, and finally getting his arms around sweet, beautiful Mira.
A surprise encounter leads to midnight confessions. The more time Matt and Mira spend together, the deeper their relationship grows, and the love and attention Matt showers on Hagen is more than she has ever dreamed of. But Matt’s sabbatical is only temporary, and Mira’s not saving his father’s company so she can leave it behind. Will their whispers of love be enough for one of them to change their life forever?

This was the perfect book to close out the Seaside stories. There was a glimpse of some of the Bayside characters that we’ll be getting to know soon.
I love these Sweet Heat stories. Steamy scenes are great, but sometimes its fun to just imagine what happens next once the heat starts kicking up. I love that Matt treats Hagen as not just Mira’s kid, but someone he can love too. Single moms that give their all like Mira does deserve love too, and they’re a package deal. Matt gives that to both of them, and even realizes a few things himself about family.
Matt + Mira + Hagen = Perfect family!! Matt & Mira have been flirting with dating for years. Matt is a professor at Princeton & is only there for short visits. Mira is afraid to fully commit since she doesn’t want a long distance romance. Mira’s son, Hagen, loves Matt & they do a lot together. Matt has come home for a three month sabbatical to write a book. What’s going to happen when they are close for more than a few days at a time?
Loved Whispers at Seaside!! Matt’s relationship with Hagen was an integral part of the story & in my opinion, made it something special. The writing was special & descriptive enough that the sparks between Mira & Matt seemed to jump off the page. Mira’s concern for Hagen & his emotions wasapparent & I loved how easily Matt shifted so that was one of his concerns too. This is a wonderful addition to the series & can easily be read on its own.
Jeepers – where is my Matt? For real!! Matt is total swoon-worthy (well, all of the Lacroux brothers have been) but falling for a single mother and wanting to be an active father figure for her child – YES, please!! I had my fingers crossed for Mira that Matt would make the right choice for the future. As I have said before, this series has been such fun and truly enjoyable to read. Loving every book in this series!
“You deserve romance, and I want to be the man who gives it to you.”
Matt Lacroux is a Princeton professor, a writer and a protector. He lives a quiet life teaching and doing research papers and aims to be the next dean. He doesn’t date much and he won’t get intimate with anyone without having deep feelings for them.
Mira is a single mom to a lovely smart little boy and she works as an accountant for Neil Lacroux waiting to pass her CPA exam. She loves being a mom, has a quiet life and great friends. She hasn’t been on the dating scene since she had her little boy and she is now yearning for a man but she wants to protect her son’s feelings at all cost.
When the two meet they are instantly taken by each other but they remain only friends for the past year. With each visit, their attraction grows and becomes more intense. When Matt decides to take a sabbatical and move back to the Cape; he is smitten by Mira and her little boy and it makes him realise all he has been missing on; a quieter life, less stress, being close to his brothers, sister, father and niece. And most of all the beautiful Mira that makes him want more out of life.
Matt Lacroux was a nice surprise to me because he is so different from his alpha male brothers and I loved it. He is quieter with a little superhero side and when you find a man that loves your kid as much as Matt does, you can’t help but love him even more. Mira is a strong single mom and she reflects what kind of challenge it can be to raise a child on your own. I literally fell in love with that sweet couple and Hagen’s innocence brings a soft, entertaining side to this beautiful story.
Matt is a college professor at Princeton University. While he loves his job, he’s been feeling restless, and thinking he might want a change. He decides to take a three month sabbatical and go back to the Cape where his family is after receiving an offer to write a book, which he’s always wanted to do. He misses seeing his dad and his brothers, but more than that, he misses Mira, who works for his dad. Matt met Mira over a year ago at his brothers engagement party and they’ve been friends ever since. Not only does Matt love being around Mira, but her six-year old son, Hagen, reminds him so much of himself at that age. Hagen is a self proclaimed “nerd”. He’s incredibly smart and everyone adores him. After arriving at the Cape, Matt has a run in with a shower head and runs to his fathers hardware store in town to grab a new one. When he gets there, Mira is still working on the books in the office. And this is where it really gets good!
The chemistry between Matt and Mira is off the charts, but they’re both so cautious about starting anything between them because Matt doesn’t know where he’ll be after the three months ends. The more time they spend together though, the harder it is to keep their hands off each other! Mira is so protective of Hagen and worries about him getting too attached to Matt. Meanwhile, Matt is realizing how strong his feelings for Mira and Hagen are and is starting to reevaluate his own life.
I really enjoyed watching the relationship between not only Matt and Mira, but also Matt and Hagen grow. Hagen is such a sweet, intelligent little boy that you can’t help but smile when you read some of the funny things he says. And Mira is such a wonderful, loving mother that you can’t help but be happy to see her get a chance at real love! I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. I would highly recommend this book!
