When his beat meets her spark, Outspoken Chaos Reigns.
All Shae Court wants is a fresh start. When her life is flipped upside-down and her dream job lands in her lap, she jumps at the chance. Being the manager for Outspoken Chaos will give her the ability to take care of not only herself, but her kids.
There are three things that drummer Tyler Shepherd knows: he doesn’t do relationships, he … he doesn’t do relationships, he doesn’t get involved with women fifteen years younger than him, and he most certainly doesn’t develop feelings for his manager.
The two of them meeting is like gasoline on a fire and neither one wants to get burned. Can they survive working together or is history doomed to repeat itself?

This is book number 4 in The Love in Sienna series and it can be read as a standalone. This was by far my favorite in this series. Shae is a single mom to two adorable children and is looking for a fresh start after her marriage fell apart. She gets the opportunity to be the band manager for Outspoken Chaos and she jumps at the chance at this offer. Tyler is a stubborn but a talented drummer and he has his own issues. The chemistry and attraction between these two is so intense that you can’t put the book down when you are reading it. Tyler and Shae are two people that weren’t looking for anything other than a friendship but life has other plans for these two. Can Tyler and Shae learn to trust each other and break down there wall that guard there hearts? This was a great book and it gives you all sorts of emotions when reading it.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
As ALWAYS, this book was FAMAZING! Shae and Tyler’s story was the best! I love age gap so much it’s insane!
Shae and Tyler first hit it off as friends, then something happened to where he became the biggest A-hole I’d the century. Of course there was a reason behind it and it just so happened to be a beautiful blonde that would bring him to his knees.
Tyler was a freaking rock star and could have literally ANY woman he wanted! But the one he so desperately craved he couldn’t have!
Torment and pain but not much suffering is how they were finally brought together! Tyler’s eyes were opened up to the world that was Shae and he only found himself falling more and more!
I loved everything about this book! The insecurities they had because who doesn’t have those but can relate on some level, the A-holiness attitude, the jealousy, the stupidity (between the two of them I could have bopped them upside the head but I love it lol), and finally the love!
This book gave us the HEA we were looking for! Now I have the joys of trying to figure out who will get their story NEXT!!!
Laura thank you so much for writing this book and sharing it with me! I it so much!

Laura John has created an amazing universe with her Love in Sienna series. Each book can be read as a stand-alone but they are even better reading in order. This book is thee fourth book in the series and is titled “Whispered Desires”. It is an age-gap/friends & enemies to lovers/rock star romance that will make you want more.
The characters have fantastic personalities. They feel like real people and you want to be a part of the group. The storyline was good but not as emotional as some of the other books in the series. Very enjoyable read and well worth my lack of sleep because I stayed up until two in the morning to finish it all in one sitting.
If you haven’t read any of Laura John’s books you are missing out!

Whispered Desires is a story about overcoming past baggage in order to find true love. Shae is still healing from a divorce where her ex cheated and had control over her on more than one level. She needs to figure out who she is as an individual, while working to provide for her children as a single mom. Tyler’s issues stem from a previous unrequited love. So he acts like a jerk to keep Shae at arm’s length as a way of protecting himself from getting hurt. Few authors are as effective at presenting raw and real material and emotion as Laura John. She is not afraid to tackle sensitive topics and take the reader on a volatile roller coaster ride of every possible emotion! Yes, you’ll need those tissues for some tears, because I’m not kidding about the raw and real! But, there’s also sizzling chemistry, intriguing plot twists, and so much laughter because the whole Love in Sienna series cast of characters is back to banter their way into your heart again! And Shae’s kids… cuteness overload!! Honestly, I’m just bummed the book is over! I can’t wait to see what happens in the next book!!
As an ARC reader, I’ve been asked to provide my honest opinion and this is the first book I’ve read by Laura John, I will say that it took me a couple of chapters to get accustomed to her writing style but once I did I thoroughly enjoyed Shae and Tyler’s story.
Shae is a young, recently divorced mother of two who is trying to find herself, deal with single-parenthood and take care of her kids. Shae’s youth shows a lot in the way she handles certain situations and I found myself getting frustrated with her (definitely a sign of good writing!).
Tyler is an older man, drummer in a successful band, and lover of women! He’s instantly attracted to Shae but feels that the age difference is just too much so he backs off from his friendship with Shae – on top of that he’s pretty well acquainted with unrequited love so he goes the mean-guy route to make sure he’s not even on Shae’s radar.
Throughout the story we come to learn a lot about the reservations both Tyler and Shae have. We also see them grow as well. I also loved Shae’s kids.. .especially Cage, too cute!
I really enjoyed the story, it definitely moved at a great pace. Even though I’ve never read any of the other books in the series I didn’t feel lost at all (but I’m definitely looking forward to reading the whole series now).
If you’re looking for a friends-to-enemies to friends-with-benefits to full on love story – this is definitely for you. There’s misunderstanding, heartache and an HEA in this one!
Every book in this series draws me even more into Sienna, and this book was no exception. First off, I totally love Tyler. Even though he has a bit of an edge to him, he has this incredibly sweet and sensitive side that I was not expecting. Then there’s Shae, who is the ultimate bounce-back woman. She overcomes so much and becomes this strong, independent woman; her transformation is amazing, especially since she is so young. I knew she had a backbone to her, and to actually be able to see it was awesome. She and Tyler are seriously the perfect match, and I loved everything about this book.
Thank you to Laura for an advanced copy of this book. I loved being able to go back to Sienna and “see” everyone again, and each book in this series just gets better and better!
Shae has become a single mom after her husband cheated on her. Now he doesn’t even seem to care about the kids either. When Shae becomes the manager of a band, she must travel and usually she left the kids with her bff Crystal, but when she goes on a long tour, her ex decides he will take the kids. What he really wants is her back and when she turns him down, he decides to hurt her in the worse way, by filing for full custody of the children. Shae’s daughter is hiding something, but Shae can’t ask her what because it would be coaching. So she must trust her daughter to come to her. Oh and there is this really hot guy who is a total jerk. He used to be nice to her, but he has changed. Why is he being so difficult and making her feel even worse?
What is he doing? He tried to get her fired, but Tia just gave her help. She is fifteen years younger than her and he shouldn’t fall for the manager. But she is hot and kind and wonderful. He is the drummer and should just do his job.
When Shae is home and planning a night out with her friends, her ex calls for her to come get the kids, but it is Saturday. They agreed on Sunday for the swap. He can’t just change the agreement for his convience. Then her daughter calls her. It is 2 a.m. Why is she calling so late? Where is her father?
Laura John’s Whispered Desires has just about everything I love in a book.
Enemies-to-lovers is my absolute favorite trope because of all that tension that just builds and builds. Tyler and Shae have SO much tension and with it comes SO much chemistry.
Shae is recently divorced and just got a job managing a band. At first everything is great. The band is great and things are looking up for Shae. Until it’s time for her and the band to go on the road. The band’s drummer, Tyler, all of a sudden has a corn cob shoved up his @$$.
This book is full of tension, angst, and banter. It’s fun, it’s emotional, and it’s incredibly sexy. Eye rolling will never be the same!
Even though it’s the fourth book in this series, it easily stands on its own. If you are a fan of enemies to lovers and/or rockstar romance, then I highly suggest reading this!
I have to start out with a full on, I do not like rockstar romance books. They just aren’t for me. You’re probably wondering why this book got a 5 star from me when I don’t even like rockstar romances-because it is that good. I love to hate the chick, which is a pretty novel feeling for me haha usually I’m hating on the guys, but this chick drives me nuts in the best possible way with her damage. If you like rockstar romances, romance in general, or just need a good book-you’ll definitely want to pick this one up.
I adore the entire Love in Sienna series, and Shae’s story exceeded my expectations. We met Shae in the previous books, as she is Crystal’s friend. Married with two kids, Shae lived for her children, her husband and her friends, until it all comes crashing down. Shae’s live takes a turn after she discovers her husband’s infidelity, and she works towards building a life for her children.
A young mom, Shae’s friends show her that family is not just whom you are related to as they help her find her footing, and give her an opportunity to manage the tour for the band Outspoken Chaos.
I enjoyed the interplay between the guarded but fiery Shae and the brody Tyler, the band’s drummer. Both of them built walls to protect them from the pain they expect from getting too close to others. The back and forth between the characters, the chemistry, was enthralling. Laura John knows how to write dialogue that makes you laugh, smile, cringe, and cry – and you’ll enjoy every moment.
I loved the story line, though Shae’s ex-husband is the worst! I love how Laura includes so many characters, providing depth, without detracting from the story. I also love seeing my friends from the previous books pop up here and there in the story.
Without spoiling the book, just know that the author manages to make a musical masterpiece while covering some really sad topics. The best books make you laugh, cry, rage and most importantly fall in love with the characters. When the book was done, I wanted more of these characters. They’ve become part of my life, a knowing tell of a great book!
I received an advanced reader copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. If you love HEAs with a bit of drama, this story will not disappoint.
This author has a talent for humanizing rock stars and the people around them, and Tyler and Shae are the epitome of that. Tyler has it bad for Shae, but he’s been burned and isn’t in any rush to feel that pain again, so he channels his inner mean boy to push her away. As for Shae, she’s been through more than enough so far in life, but she’s determined to find herself for the first time in what seems like forever, and Tyler isn’t going to stand in her way. Of course, once she realizes that he’d much rather guide her or stand WITH her, Shae has some serious thinking and growing to do. Since Tyler isn’t going anywhere, he’s willing to let Shae see that his love isn’t fragile. When Shae finally realizes that, they’re in for a truly happy life together. And that life is worth the angst and worries and bumps in the road along the way.
I have really enjoyed this series so far and I don’t see that changing anytime soon. I feel like this author comes up with original ways to bring characters together and force them to grow without feeling forced or fake. It’s talent like this that keeps me coming back for more with every new book she writes.
This my first that I read by Lauren John, and I have to say is WOW. I normally don’t read books about rockstars, but this book changed that whole concept for me. I would recommend this book to anyone too read.
Shae’s story was so heartwarming. I love the fact that through everything she has been through in her young years she has overcome it and found her HEA. I love the series and this author never disappoints. I am anxiously awaiting the next story. Highly recommended.
