Two best friends follow a dangerous and seductive path in the final standalone novel of the bestselling Whiskey and Lies series from NYT Bestselling Author Carrie Ann Ryan.Ainsley Harris has always kept a secret from her best friend. She’s stood by his side, helped him raise his daughter, and tried to keep her distance even though she’s been in love with him for years. She knows he has secrets of … secrets of his own and she’s not willing to chance what they have on a possibility.
Loch Collins has hidden himself and his past from the world for good reason. Darkness always comes back to haunt those who fight against it, and he knows better than most. One night of temper, however, forces him to realize his true feelings for Ainsley—for better or worse.
But Loch’s former allies aren’t on his side anymore, and now not only is his life and the life of his daughter on the line, but Ainsley is in the crosshairs, as well. Together, two best friends must fight for each other and their small town, because Whiskey has never burned brighter. And danger, it seems, is ever lurking.

Whiskey Undone is the exciting conclusion to Carrie Ann Ryan’s Whiskey and Lies series (a Montgomery Ink spinoff). This series definitely went out with a bang and this story is one of Ms. Ryan’s best yet (which is no easy feat!).
Even though this is Book 3 and I think it would probably stand fine on its own, I’d still highly recommend picking up the first 2. That way you can see what everyone else has seen, the tension and heat building between Loch and Ainsley right from the start!
This story was loaded from start to finish with action, adventure, suspense and tons of heat! Great characters and an edge of your seat plot, drew me in from the start and I didn’t want to put it down! One of my all-time favorites!
This book shows a man who wants above all to protect those he loves, even when he does not admit the extent of his love. The tension and horror him and his best friend to through will keep you on the edge of your seat.
Whiskey and Lies #3, YAY!!! Ainsley and Loch finally! This can be read as a standalone as with most of her Contemporary Romance. Loch and Ainsley have been best friends for over ten years, she’s helped take care of Loch’s daughter when Misty’s mother abandoned her and she has always been there content to be his best friend always hoping she could be more. Loch has kept Ainsley in the friend zone because he always feared he never deserved a happy ending, always assuming that sex would ruin everything and she’d not only leave him but Misty too. But Loch can’t stand the thought of her with anyone else and one night changes their entire relationship the night they give in to their desire. Unfortunately sex fries their brains, especially Loch’s, and they became unable to communicate with each other and they start fighting. It wasn’t the only life changing event to happen that night a dead body was discovered behind Loch’s gym and now his past is coming back to get him.
Overall, another outstanding book by Carrie Ann Ryan. I love the Collins and the town of Whiskey. The book had a great epilogue, very nice HEA wrap up for the family. Third person perspective that switches between Ainsley and Loch so you do learn what Loch’s deal is and understand where he’s coming from. This is a very emotional story it does deal mostly with Ainsley and Loch’s relationship and Loch’s emotional issues. The external conflict is a doozie it was really intense there at the end, wow. As sad as I am to see this series end I am anxious for the upcoming series Ryan has planned.
Loch’s mysterious past collides with his future here. While the distance between beasties disappears the intrigue mounts. I enjoyed the intensity in this one. Ainsley shows how strong and resilient she truly is. I don’t want to give anything away so I will leave it here. Enjoy it. I certainly did.
Finally we have Loch and Ainsley’s story with Whiskey Undone. Carrie Ann Ryan has written a friends-to-lovers book that will keep you on the edge of your seat with all of the suspense, break-ins, kidnappings, and secret notes throughout the book. I loved each and every book in this series but have to say that this is my favorite because we have grown to love both of these characters after reading the other two books. I know that Carrie Ann Ryan never truly says goodbye to a series so I hope that we get to see glimpses of everyone from Whiskey in future writings.
OH wow!!! I was dying to read Loch and Ainsley and they blew me away! The temptation between them, its a long slow boil but oh holy h#ll when things finally ignite it burns down the pages! There was a little of everything in this story, heat and passion, mixed perfectly with the tension and suspense, I couldn’t put it down! I can’t wait for more from Carrie Ann Ryan!!!!
Love Ainsley and Lochs amazing emotional beautiful second chance.Love this series and nned more of this family.
This is an amazing Friend to lovers story by Carrie Ann Ryan! This is Loch and Ainsley’s ( such awesome names!!) story. Ainsley has love Loch for forever, but doesn’t want to take the chance of possibly losing him so she had stayed silent. Loch has his own issue that he is dealing with. One night changed everything, will it bring them closer or tear them apart? This was my favorite book in the series so far!
If I could give Whiskey Undone more than 5 stars I would do it! I have been waiting forever, or it seems like it, for Loch and Ainsey’s story! It was well worth the wait. Carrie Ann Ryan is a Master at bringing so much emotion into her stories and I had to have the tissues handy! I loved it. Amazing! I love the whole series but Whiskey Undone is my new favorite!
This is a great ending to the story full of heart and emotion as well as a good mix of suspense. Loved Ainsley, Loch, and Misty.
Finally we get Loch and Ainsley’s story in Whiskey Undone. I have been waiting to see how their story unfolded since we first met them in book 1. This book did not disappoint. It had the perfect amount of steaminess and danger. I love how the author portrayed Ainsley as such a strong woman and her love for Misty had no bounds. The chemistry between Loch and Ainsley was off the charts and even tho if their road was a tough one they battled it together and never gave up on each other. The ending was perfect and the glimpse we got into the future was great..I hope we see more of the Collins family. This was me favorite of the three Whiskey books..highly recommended!
This was the final book in the series and I hate for it to end. BUT it went out with a bang! I really enjoyed this book and did not put it down until the end. I was drawn in and just wanted to keep reading. We have seen Loch and Ainsley in the first two books, this is their story. They finally get their HEA. Oh, what a journey it was though. Loch’s past comes back to haunt not only him but Ainsley as well.
They have one amazing night together which makes things very awkward between them. Well, Loch makes it awkward until Ainsley fights for what she wants and Loch gets the corn cobb out of his tail end. When he does, the sparks really fly between them.
This is another of those read way past bedtime books. Which means do not start reading close to bedtime if you need sleep.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.
I love all things romance. But I absolutely adore romantic suspense. I enjoy a sweet, light hearted love story, but add in a mystery to be solved, suspense, and secrets? I am in heaven. And this author does that better than any other I’ve read. Whiskey Undone rates as one of the top ones she’s written, IMHO. Not only do I get my romantic suspense mystery fix, but a good lovers to friends romance thrown in for good measure! This story was so well written, I was on the edge of my seat throughout most of the book. I was so immersed in the characters lives, that my emotions were bouncing from one extreme to another. This book will appeal to so many readers, regardless of whether they are new to the CAR worlds or if they’ve read everything she’s written.
Ainsley is Loch’s best friend. They have been best friends for so long, their lives are completely intertwined, and there is no separating them. But it’s always stopped there, despite Ainsley’s secret feelings for Loch. Loch, on the other hand is a complete enigma. As much as he loves his family, as close as they are, there are parts of his life that no one talks about, that I’m not sure anyone really knows about. And he holds himself apart from everyone, to a certain extent, because of that. When things start going awry in Whiskey, nothing is as it at first appears.
The story of Loch and Ainsley, despite the many secrets and the abundance of suspense, is an amazing blend of romance and mystery. I love how close the family is, how they don’t hesitate to jump in to help each other, despite the possible danger. I love the writing style of this author, how it seems to flow smoothly, even when there is a lot going on in the story. I might not understand why things happen the way they do when it’s going on, but it always makes sense in the end! This book is a must read!
When I started reading I couldn’t put it down. Carrie Ann Ryan is magnifysent and amazing writer.I cannot wait to read more of there books.Keep up the great work. You should definitely read this book. Can’t wait for the next book.
This series is one of my favorites of this author and I was looking forward Loch and Ainsley’s love story. Loch is an impossible man! He is a single father, has done some security work in the past and is a stuborn, overprotective and loyal person (and above all a family man).
Ainsley is his best friend who has supported him in the most difficult times and has been there taking care of his daughter.
Now, they have to decide what to do with their friendship and if they will take it to the next level. In the meantime, Loch is facing some series problems with his past and is afraid of putting his daughter and Ainsley at risk.
Only Carry Ann Ryan could write this story! This book is great and is a wonderful ending to a good series.
I absolutely could not wait for Loch and Ainsley’s book. It had so much going on that I couldn’t put it down. There is passion, action, and suspense. You can’t miss with this book or the series. Loch and Ainsley waited for their HEA and it was worth the wait. I was sad to see the Whiskey and Lies series end, but I’m sure CAR will just wow us with her next series. This is another must read!
This is the final book in the Whiskey and Lies series, and what a way to end! To start off with best friends who each want more but are too afraid, and then go into a bunch of danger and very bad people doing very bad things, this book keeps you on your toes! And you will absolutely fall in love with Loch and Ainsley. And Misty of course. I’m sad to see it end, but Carrie Ann Ryan ended it with a bang!!!
This is book three and the final book in the Whiskey and Lies series. It features the highly anticipated and longed for story of Loch and Ainsley. This book provides readers with plenty of drama, danger, suspense, murder, action, angst, heartache, passion and romance. Your emotions definitely get put through the wringer as Loch and Ainsley’s actions set in motion a ripple effect that rocks the very foundation of their relationship and those around them. For me, it was very easy to feel the deep and often painful emotional turmoil that these two struggled with as they tried to fight their desires and feelings for each other. This is an excellent read, and a wonderful conclusion to this series.
This was by far the best Whiskey book! Loch is so growly and hot, but goodness if the man didn’t have tunnel vision. He was so focused on being a father and providing for his daughter by running a successful business that he totally lost himself. Ainsley was the opposite. She knew herself and what she wanted only she couldn’t have it. So she had put her life almost completely on hold. The two are perfect for each other, but they’re already besties. And there’s a little girl involved, so needless to say they’re automatically thinking”no way”. However, life had other plans! Circumstances push these two to give in to their feelings, then danger from the past forces them to not bury those feelings. They are both so strong and feel so deep, it was great learning more about them. Carrie Ann Ryan kept you on the edge with sneak peaks of Loch’s past, explosive action and steamy romancing. I loved it!
Break out the tissues. This is no ordinary friends to lovers story. This one will break your heart and rebuild it in glorious agony. A total win for Carrie Ann Ryan.
