Two best friends follow a dangerous and seductive path in the final standalone novel of the bestselling Whiskey and Lies series from NYT Bestselling Author Carrie Ann Ryan.Ainsley Harris has always kept a secret from her best friend. She’s stood by his side, helped him raise his daughter, and tried to keep her distance even though she’s been in love with him for years. She knows he has secrets of … secrets of his own and she’s not willing to chance what they have on a possibility.
Loch Collins has hidden himself and his past from the world for good reason. Darkness always comes back to haunt those who fight against it, and he knows better than most. One night of temper, however, forces him to realize his true feelings for Ainsley—for better or worse.
But Loch’s former allies aren’t on his side anymore, and now not only is his life and the life of his daughter on the line, but Ainsley is in the crosshairs, as well. Together, two best friends must fight for each other and their small town, because Whiskey has never burned brighter. And danger, it seems, is ever lurking.

Fan-tas-tic Book! I’m going to put myself out there and say this is, hands down, the best of the “extended-world” Montgomery Ink books I have read to date; even beating out my beloved Gallagher Brothers. Huge kudos to Carrie Ann Ryan, you outdid yourself with this one!!!
I have to say that this is my fav book in the series which is hard to say since I’ve loved every one lol. I think it is the whole best friends to lovers story. There is just something so wonderful about two people who have know each other forever and are such close friends whose relationship grows into something unexpected and unplanned. The suspense aspect of the story really drove home who Ainsley and Loch are apart and together. Love me some Carrie Ann Ryan lol. She can write an amazing HEA.
WHISKEY UNDONE is book 3 of the Whiskey and Lies series. All three books revolve around the Collins’ brothers but can be read as standalones.
Loch Collins is the oldest of his siblings. As a single dad, he’s worked hard to provide for his four year old daughter, Misty. But he’s also depended on his family and his best friend, Ainsley, for help. Ainsley has been Loch’s good friend for ten years and she adores Misty but she’s been in love with Loch for a long time. Now, Loch’s questionable past is catching up to him and he’s scrambling to protect Ainsley and Misty. As Loch and Ainsley move towards a new, intimate relationship, will Ainsley stand by her man or will she run like Misty’s mom?
I’ve read this entire series (I’m a fan, can you tell?) but this one…oh my goodness, I FLOVED this book! I waited with baited breath for Ainsley and Loch to get together and Ms. Ryan did not disappoint. Their romance exploded almost from the very beginning. Let me tell you, I flippin’ adored both Ainsley and Loch. They had all of the traits that I love to see in my main characters. Honesty, kindness, charm, loyalty, trustworthiness, strength and a bit of alpha male goodness. Of course, it took some drama for each of them to accept their feelings for the other but once they did? SWOON! Loch and Ainsley were so swexy together (sweet and sexy).
The plot thickens with a murder mystery and enemies from Loch’s past wreaking havoc. I was reading this one while sitting with my husband during his chemotherapy and I literally had to suppress everything from little titters of laughter to gasps of surprise (and maybe crossing my legs once or twice…wink, wink). This book was a wickedly fun rollercoaster ride of emotions! It all came together to create one of my favorite friends-to-lovers story from Carrie Ann Ryan. Told from dual POVs with a sweet, sweet, sweet ever after. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book.
This is the final installment of the Whiskey Lies series. This story is about Loch & Ainsley. They’ve been friends forever and one moment changes that. Add a bit of mystery from Loch’s past and these two figure out how they want to navigate their relationship……stay friends or move to lovers/soul mates. Carrie Ann Ryan knows how and when to add a bit of mystery & intrigue to keep you on your toes and the story moving. This was a great ending to this series!! Carrie Ann, Loch & Ainsley’s story was wonderful….I just loved it!
Loch and Ainsley’s journey was so much more than I imagined. It rates one of my top reads for best friends to lovers genre and it was so easy to fall in love with their story. The chemistry sizzles and their loving was hot which only made for that extra in a relationship I look forward to between two characters. Action, suspense, danger, romance and throw in an adorable daughter are ingredients that made for an entertaining and enjoyable read. Loved this series from an author who does the romance genre well and doesn’t disappoint. I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Readers Copy of this book.
Finally Ainsley and Loch! Not only was this book the conclusion of this part of the Montgomery world, but it finally gave us the HEA for this enduring couple. Getting to see how they became friends and what Loch’s backstory with his daughter and his life were was fantastic. I can’t wait to see where the Montgomery world goes next.
5 WHISKEY UNDONE STARS!! Love this book so much…..it was simply perfect!! Ainsley and Loch’s story was beautiful with all the feels us romance readers look for. This is probably my favorite book in this series so far. I highly suggest this Book, so make sure to 1-Click.
We have watched Loch & Ainsley’s relationship for two books now…& it’s finally here! Ainsley wants Loch to truly see her. When he finally admits he always has, the steam flows off the pages like a good cup of coffee! Loch’s former job has come back to haunt him and the town of Whiskey. So, in true Collins brother fashion, he does something stupid and tries to push her away. Read the conclusion to the Whiskey trio. Since Carrie Ann loves us readers so much, there’s a nice epilogue with a giant bow on it for all the Collins, including our Montgomery Ink crossover, Tabby & Alex!
I absolutely love Carrie Ann Ryan’s books and Whiskey Undone is another great story of the Collins family. Loch Collins with the help of his best friend, Ainsley, has left his old life to take care of his daughter. After one night together when they become more than friends, someone from Loch’s past threatens all he holds dear. Trying to come to terms with the change in relationship status, Loch inheriting a covert business he doesn’t want and danger all around, Ryan has written an engrossing story that is hard to put down.
This I s a voluntary review of an ARC.
Having read the previous ones in this I could hardly sit still to get into this one. In this one the characters Ainsley and Loch take you into their world with their story unraveling before our eyes. Secrets will also do the same with them also becoming larger than the normal putting the path they are on into overdrive. This one will also put us into the same with tense being only one of the many emotions this author will be able to pull from us while we are in this one. You get to see also what to really fight for with the reasons being more precious than gold. This one was the icing and more gobbling up every last bit.
I loved this story!!! Loch and Ainsley are so perfect together and both so insecure in how they are in able to manage a relationship. When danger shows up all Loch can think about is keeping those he loves safe. Ainsley wants to be strong and she is stronger than she realizes when she fights to get back to those she loves and the family she has chosen. The Collins family is amazing and this book is a fabulous conclusion.
Whiskey Undone is the third and final installment in this series and Carrie Ann Ryan does NOT send us off softly. She takes us out with a bang. Anyone who has been reading this story has been following the sparks that have been flying between the last Collins brother and his BFF Ainsley. Finally, we get their story and it’s a doozy. If possible Carrie Ann Ryan gives us MORE with this book.
Ainsley has always had a crush on Loch but it’s been a secret she’s kept to herself. Even though she’s been there through thick and thin with him she doesn’t want to chance losing Loch by expressing her feelings. Loch knows all about darkness and has been steadfast in trying to keep those he loves safe. But after finally realizing what Ainsley is to him he won’t give her up easily. When danger puts his family in its path, will Loch be able to finally get his happily ever after?
I loved this entire series! From romance to drama and suspense, Ms. Ryan has something for everyone. The town os charming, the interactions between the characters spot on. With an amazing job of intertwining everyday problems with the fabulous characters making them all the more real. This book was entertaining, heartfelt and a joy to read. I am sad to come to the end but I am hoping Ms. Ryan will take us back to Whiskey for a visit in the future!
Wow what a emotional and thrilling end to an amazing series loved this small town of Whiskey so much….. the passion and intensity of this exciting journey is packed into every chapter. We finally get Ainsley and Loch’s story and it so does not disappoint. They have been friends forever and have kept that distance for various reasons, but the dam has broken on their undeniable attraction and there is no turning back now… Loved it!!!
This is the 3rd book in the Whiskey and Lies series and I would absolutely read the first 2 books before this one so that you can understand the main characters relationship before this book. This one is the last in this series and it’s about Loch Collins and Ainsley Harris. Loch and Ainsley have been best friends for years. Loch has secrets that he keeps from his family and friends in the hopes of keeping them safe. What he doesn’t understand is that when he gives in to what he considers his own weakness while he is angry, it will change everything in his life. Ainsley has her own secret she keeps. The fact that she has loved Loch for years but she doesn’t want to say anything in case it forces her to lose him for good. But after they both make a choice one night, now they have to decide what is truly best for them and whether to fight for each other as well keep everyone they love safe.
I absolutely loved this one! I had wanted to know why Loch seemed so serious and repressed, and reading about why in this book definitely made me understand. But it also makes you sad for him. To understand just how much he went through and what his hopes for his own future had been at one time. And then learning about Ainsley and what happened in her past? That was heart breaking! Watching them both fight things out and actually learn what will bring them peace and happiness in the long run was beyond great! And then you throw in the suspense part and you will be on the edge of your seat! Another great read in this series! I am sad to see it end but maybe we can have some off shoots from it!
I was floored by Loch and Ainsley’s story. I knew they had the blinders on about who they were to each other. And yet Whiskey Undone really did undo me. To learn their back stories all the while having the current problems going on, simply kept me hooked. Ainsley was certainly no push over either. I loved her fierce determination and strength. This was the best of the Whiskey series. It was a stand alone, however I felt that I knew the others so much better for having read their stories as well. Of all of them, I think Loch’s mom stole the story in the kitchen.
I voluntarily offered to review this book with no obligations and my opinions are honest!
It was a great book!
Ainsley + Loch have been friends for forever.
They are also very attracted to each other, but will they take the risk ?
Ainsley stood by his side thru thick and thin.
Loch always knew that Ainsley will always be there for him.
However, will they give love a chance ?
It has all the ingredients that you need for a great book!
I didn’t think Carrie Ann Ryan could top the two previous Whiskey books, but she did. This one had so much going for it. Loch and Ainsley were BFF’s and both wanted to be more, but had never acted on it. When they finally did act on it, things popped up in Loch’s life that made him push her away.
I will add more later after it is published, but I couldn’t have enjoyed this book more. Kudo’s Carrie
I think writing reviews are so hard. I hate spoilers, I don’t like when reviews reiterate what the blurb already says…. so here goes. This book is outstanding. It can be read as a stand alone, but why? Books in a series are always richer having read the series. Carrie Ann Ryan takes you on a ride that doesn’t leave you hanging. If you have read the first 2 in the series, this book is just as amazing as the other two. If you have not read the first 2 in the series, read this book and then run…don’t walk to get the other 2 books. The characters are flawed yet relatable, funny, and real. You feel like you are part of the story, like it is something that you could have or have experienced.
Carrie Ann Ryan has written another stellar book. Can’t wait till the next one. Cheers!
This is a terrific story that I did not want to put down. Ainsley and Loch have been best friends for a little no time. I enjoyed following along on their journey as they navigated a difficult path towards happiness together. This will pull on your heartstrings, and have you on the edge of your seat in suspense and anticipation. A truly wonderful book.
OH YOU’RE IN FOR ONE AMAZING TREAT
It’s official – I’m in love with Ainsley’s spitfire spirit and her stubborn attitude
I loved Ainsleys character. Her ballsy attitude and even if it takes her a minute, an hour or a day to go away and think about what she wants to say – when she gets back to Loch, she gives him what for with both barrels right between the legs!
Misty stole the show. She’s utterly adorable.
Loch tries to do the right thing – he fails spectacularly – and Ainsley doesn’t let him get away with it….but at least he tried, bless him. And yes at times he’s a bit of a ‘Tommy Tanker’ but his heart is in the right place and he’s going in circles so much that he’s doing doughnuts and making himself dizzy, not to mention making stupid, idiotic, crazy decisions but bless him he meant well.
I’ve cried so much that I’ve used all my tissues and I’m on the kitchen roll now
I adored this book – Carrie Ann manages to extract so much emotions out of this cold, dead husk of a heart. The saying is you can’t get blood out of a stone – Carrie Ann manages to get so many tears out of this old fossil. The characters are amazing and I so want to move to Whiskey.
I voluntarily reviewed this book for an honest review – to be absolutely truthful I turned off my TV, silenced my social media and grabbed this book with my hot and sweaty hands and I devoured this book
