Two best friends follow a dangerous and seductive path in the final standalone novel of the bestselling Whiskey and Lies series from NYT Bestselling Author Carrie Ann Ryan.Ainsley Harris has always kept a secret from her best friend. She’s stood by his side, helped him raise his daughter, and tried to keep her distance even though she’s been in love with him for years. She knows he has secrets of … secrets of his own and she’s not willing to chance what they have on a possibility.
Loch Collins has hidden himself and his past from the world for good reason. Darkness always comes back to haunt those who fight against it, and he knows better than most. One night of temper, however, forces him to realize his true feelings for Ainsley—for better or worse.
But Loch’s former allies aren’t on his side anymore, and now not only is his life and the life of his daughter on the line, but Ainsley is in the crosshairs, as well. Together, two best friends must fight for each other and their small town, because Whiskey has never burned brighter. And danger, it seems, is ever lurking.

Since meeting Ainsley and Loch in the first book of this series I have been very curious about their story. It was so much fun to finally get to read how they become a couple. The fact that they have been friends for years added a new dynamic that the previous books in the series didn’t have. I love Carrie Ann Ryan’s writing and the balance that she has for the couples. Yes they face challenges, yes there are twists and turns in the story but the couple always fights for their future which is beautiful. You have to check out the Whiskey and Lies series. This is an excellent book and I can’t wait for my bookworm friends to read it!
The Final book in the Whiskey and Lies Series is the one that will have you coming undone. Loch and Ainsley have been best friends forever, she has been there by his side every time he needed her. As things get tense and danger lurks in the shadows from Loch’s past, he may just have to push the one person he needs the most away to keep her safe. As jealousy, hurt, fear and frustration come crashing down these two may have to finally face that they don’t just love each other but are in fact in love with each other. Their story is angsty, witty, emotional and seriously steamy. A friends to lovers romance that is nothing short of being like top shelf whiskey. You will fall hopelessly in love with these two and hoping that they offer you a sticker. The epilogue gives us a sense of completion to this family of characters that we have grown to love.
I’ve been waiting for this story since Whiskey book 1! We’ve had small glimpses of Ainsley and Loch’s dynamic through the other 2 books but mostly remained a mystery. I enjoyed this one a lot – especially Ainsley’s side of things. I did feel that Loch’s ‘secret’ was a bit of a cop out but overall a good read. Sad to see this mini series come to an end.
This book hit all the marks for me. Loch is protective and loving and has a past that is catching up with him. A past that is putting the ones that he loves the most in danger.
Ainsley has been in love with him forever, but doesn’t want to chance losing his friendship on a relationship that might fail. Resigned to her role as best friend she supports and loves Loch and his little girl as much as she can without crossing any lines.
This books concludes the series with a bang, it’s an incredible ending to an incredible cast of characters. Sending them off with Loch and Ainsley, watching their love morph from friendship to true love was amazing. Another 5 star read from Carrie Ann.
I want my own Loch, but I guess I will share him with Ainsley!
This is my first book in this series by Carrie Ann, but I enjoyed it so very, very much!
Loch is scared to love because of his past and Ainsley is the best friend who finally gets him to pull his head out of his….well you know! Their love isn’t easy, but it is such a good read to their HEA!
I will definitely be going back to read the other books in the A Whiskey and Lies series! As always there is a layered storytelling to Carrie Ann’s books which I always enjoy! Check this series out – you will regret it if you don’t!
I loved Ainsley and Loch. We have seen them through the other two books in this series and it was great to finally see their story. Loch is always so quiet and Ainsley seems more sociable and outgoing. They are best friends and both don’t want to loose that. Loch feels like his past work would prevent him from having a relationship and his daughter is his focus. He doesn’t want to try again after his relationship with his daughters mother. Ainsley loves both Loch and his daughter. She feels something more but doesn’t want to loose what they have. These two quickly find themselves together but Lochs past seems to be trying to come between them. Don’t want to give much away but I loved this book and it is a great read.
4.5 stars of AWESOMESAUCE!
I literally devoured this book! From the first couple of pages to the end I was completely hooked. I admit, I have had a hit and miss opinion of friends to lovers books, but Carrie Ann Ryan has a way of writing that just ensnares me in the story and keeps my attention because of all that goes on. She adds suspense and passion in equal parts and intermingles danger and emotional pain with ease. And she has done that very thing with WHISKEY UNDONE.
Loch is very mysterious. There was something about him that screamed about a past filled with intrigue, and that is so what I got! And he is totally an alpha male, which means that he makes mistakes even if it is for the right reason. But like any true alpha, he can’t deny himself. And when he lets loose, whoa boy! Now that’s what I am talking about from an alpha male. Sexy personified.
And Ainsley … sweet, nice, and stubborn! She keeps her attraction hidden down far to Loch because she is happy to have him in her life in the only way that she thinks that she can. But that is also when the stubborn comes out to play. But that also leaves her heart open, and that caring heart can be bruised. Ainsley shows her strength through the book, especially the end, so she was my surprise in happiness in this story.
Overall impression … FABULOUS! The characters were enjoyable in their own rights and personalities in the story and the plot itself was intriguing. I really got into this book and not only for what was going on between Loch and Ainsley, but also the secondary issue that comes up. I will definitely recommend this book to anyone that likes some danger and intrigue mixed in with their romance, because this book has it all. Happy reading!!
Loch and Ainsley!! Just wow!! They have been best friends for years and nothing more they help each other through the highs and lows. Example when Misty was born Loch’s daughter and her mother abandoned her Ainsley stepped up and helped, but that’s what best friends do for each other. However something changed along the way friendly feelings shifted and now something else has taken place neither are sure what is happening or if anything should because their friendship and Misty are what matters most. Overall, loved this story it’s a page turner and keeps the reader invested to see what’s coming and what will occur. Definitely a must read!! Highly recommend!
Whiskey Undone was another fabulous story by Carrie Ann Ryan. It’s the third book in the Whiskey and Lies series. It’s a best friends to lovers story and it is just amazing.
Ainsley and Loch were perfect. I loved their chemistry and all of their ups and downs. I don’t want to say too much because I don’t want to give it away but it was so good! I received this book in exchange for an honest review.
Carrie Ann Ryan does a phenomenal job with the Whiskey and Lies series. I read book one and missed book two. So I was uncertain reading Whiskey Undone. I was in for a surprise. Missing book two did not ruin the story. It is completely separate and did not cross lines with the books before. You get the awesome brothers. I was head over hills over Loch. I loved the broody quiet type. Loch crossed every “T” in my book. Ainsley was the perfect heroine. She never backed down especially when Loch was being an A*Hole. Her heart was pure for his daughter.
Whiskey Undone has a lot of hot and steamy scenes. But what captured me was the murder mystery surrounding the town of Whiskey. The drama started to build and so did my anticipation. The ending was perfect and I loved the epilogue. Whiskey Undone has the power to tie you up in knots. I have to read the second book in this series to feel complete with Whiskey and Lies!
I loved Whiskey Undone by Carrie Ann Ryan. This was the third and final book in the series. I’m so glad Loch and Ainsley finally had their story. This book was so hard to put down it had me from the first page. I fell in love with Loch and Ainsley and the Collins family. I recommend this book and any book this author writes.
Carrie Ann Ryan saved the best for last; I think this might be the best Whiskey and Lies book. Since the beginning of this series you have seen these two push their feeling to the side, but just one night will change everything. Loch and Ainsley have to be the most stubborn characters that I have read in a long time. Loch just wanted to protect Ainsley from his past but she wouldn’t let him push her away. And the passion between these two was awesome. Loch‘s daughter is adorable and a scene stealer. I loved that this book had a little more suspense than the last two books. I hate that this is the end for the Collins but I can’t wait to see if they make a cameo in another spin-off series.
Loch and Ainsley have a place in my heart. I was ready for their story, but I didn’t realize how much I needed to know it. Not only have these two best friends been a part of each other lives for so long, they are finally realizing there is so much more to their relationship. What’s hotter than a single dad who relies on his best friend. I absolutely loved this couple and their story. This author creates the best characters, flaws and all. The chemistry is explosive, and the twists and turns will keep your attention throughout.
The third book in this series was a great way to wrap it all up for us. If you’ve read the previous books you have met Loch and Ainsley and have probably been rooting for them all along. As soon as I met them in the first book I wanted them to get together. Carrie Ann totally delivered on their story. As usual the story was steamy and had some unexpected action I loved. You can’t go wrong with this book!
I have to say, it’s a toss up at this point if I love the Montgomerys or the spin off families more. Carrie Ann Ryan has created a very large and complex world.
In the last of the Whiskey and Lies series, we FINALLY get Loch and Ainsley’s story. I’ve been Team Ainsley since Whiskey Secrets. I think she’s a strong female character. The insights we get into her and her past in Whiskey Undone illustrate that fact. While she doesn’t believe she’s enough, she proves time and again she’s more.
I wasn’t sure about Loch. Don’t get me wrong, Ryan does growly loner like nobody’s business, but she was playing Loch close to the vest. That made it hard to get a read on him. I will say, I was ready to throat punch him more than once at the beginning of this book. But because Ryan knows what she’s doing, that just made it even sweeter when we finally got to see what Loch was keeping hidden away.
Ryan does a great job with the suspense in Whiskey Undone. She keeps you on your toes and guessing. There’s more than once I was on the edge of my seat, and I was up past my bedtime because I just had to know what happened next. Trust me, it was totally worth it.
While I’m sad to see the end of the Whiskey and Lies series, Ryan brought yet another amazing family to life. I’m going to miss the Collins and Whiskey, PA.
OMG this was the brother I was waiting for, I wanted to read Loch and Ainsley’s book since the beginning and I was not disappointed. This was a great read form start to finish, I just knew when these two got together that it would be totally explosive and I was not wrong. I’m sorry to say goodbye to these brothers but I cannot wait for who comes next.
Another fantastic book for MUST read author, Carrie Ann Ryan! Whiskey Undone is about Loch Collins and his best friend, Ainsley Harris. Loch is a single father who has done security work in the past and owns a gym in Whiskey. Loch is loyal, overprotective, and family comes before all. Ainsley is a teacher and has had Loch’s back at all times while helping him with his daughter. Ainsley has kept her feelings for Loch secret. Loch is struggling with his feelings for Ainsley when she challenges him to really see her. Ainsley and Loch give into their feelings for each other, but Loch immediately regrets it and pushes Ainsley away. Loch’s past puts everyone he loves in danger, especially Ainsley and his daughter. Can Loch protect Ainsley and his family from the danger his past poses for them? Will Loch realize finally realize he has always loved Ainsley? Can Ainsley forgive Loch for trying to push her away and out of his and his daughter’s lives? The chemistry between Loch and Ainsley is scorching! Whiskey Undone is an amazing story with fantastic characters that will make you laugh out loud. This story is full of suspense, danger, and lots of sexual heat. I would highly recommend Whiskey Undone by Carrie Ann Ryan. I received an ARC of this story, and I am leaving my honest review.
Whiskey Undone is the third and final book in the Whiskey and Lies series and although it can be read as a standalone the first two books are amazing! Whiskey Undone is my favorite of the three, Carrie Ann pushes the romantic suspense aspect and I loved it!
Loch Collins is a single father, owns a gym and a security company. He is quiet and often broody but will go to the ends of the earth to protect the ones he loves.
Ainsley Harris is a high school science teacher and Loch’s best friend. Growing up in Whiskey she has always been close to the Collins family. Ainsley has been in love with Loch for as long as she can remember, she has tried to move on but her heart only wants him.
Loch and Ainsley are tested when there is a murder in Whiskey and it’s close to home. Loch’s fears about his past coming back to haunt him and all those he loves are in danger. These two not only have to fight to stay alive but fight for the love they have been both denying one another.
5 Stars
The anticipation of Loch and Ainsley’s story has been intense and I have to say it was worth every second of the wait! Loch is everything you could expect and more…protective, sweet, dark and sexy as all get out! Ainsley is as she had always been, sweet, supportive and now we see her strong sexy side as well. Carrie Ann Ryan has given us a suspenseful and sexy book that will leave you breathless. I could not put this book down once I started and watching the change of this couple’s relationship from best friends to a couple in every sense of the word was sometimes painful, sometimes sexy, sometimes intense and completely perfect! This is a phenomenal end to a fabulous series!

I love Lock and Ainsley!
Actually, I’ve loved Ainsley since the first Whiskey and Lies book and I KNEW she belonged in that family. For the life of me, I couldn’t figure out why the two of them didn’t just get on with it! What had happened to cause them to friend zone each other? In fact, I was afraid that some new hussy would swoop in and steal him! But then I reassured myself that Carrie Ann Ryan wouldn’t do that to us … would she?
Loch had always been a bit of an enigma. I knew that he had a past; he was more than just a gym owner/physical trainer/security guy. But I didn’t dream that his past was so dangerous that it would cause such a scary situation for Whiskey. A murder and a kidnapping? And who could have imagined our little teacher being such a beast! All those self defense classes really paid off for our Ainsley! She’s my shero!
But the love between those two is the best kind. Full of liking and respect in addition to the physical attraction, that makes a lasting relationship. Real best friends in addition to lovers, once Loch got his head out of his tail. I get that he thought that he was protecting her, but I was reading to strangle him!
For me, the only thing that would have made this story better was if Tabby and her Alex would have come to visit. I’m sad to see this series end, but look forward to the next arc set in the Montgomery World.
