One whiskey-saturated night turns into something far more in the second standalone installment of the bestselling Whiskey and Lies series from NYT Bestselling Author Carrie Ann Ryan.Fox Collins likes his life just the way it is. His siblings are falling in love all around him, but he’d much rather focus on his next story than on a serious relationship. However, when his latest one-night stand … latest one-night stand returns to Whiskey—this time for good—he’ll need to learn to trust his instincts to figure out if he can live without her in his life.
Former dancer Melody Waters is finally ready to settle down in her grandmother’s small Pennsylvania hometown. Bad decisions and fateful nights have changed her path more than once, but now she’s focused on one thing: opening her new own dance studio. But fate is a funny thing, and once again, she’ll be forced to learn that actions have consequences and some repercussions can not only change your life forever, they can also come back to haunt you…one broken promise at a time.

I absolutely loved this book. Another great installment to the series!! The story line just draws you in. You want to be part of their story!! The emotions feel real! Another home run!!
am loving this series by Carrie Ann Ryan. In Whiskey Reveals we get to see Fox and Melody as they develop their relationship that was first revealed in Whiskey Secrets. And we get to see more of the Collins family throughout the book. Fox and Melody are two people that are attracted to each other but fight the feeling until they give in, and when they do they realize they have something special. Carrie Ann Ryan knows how to do a family series well where we get to see each member along with the main figures of the story from beginning to end.
Melody may have thought she had a one night stand, but when she moves to Whiskey to start a new life she knows she will have to face the man she can’t forget. Plus, secrets she doesn’t want to share are coming back to haunt her. Youngest Collins brother Fox proves that he is just as alpha and protective as his older brothers even for a woman who insists on only being his friend. While having a “baddie” this story is truly character driven, exploring how guilt can influence life choices and how careers can take over our lives.
I really enjoyed Fox and Melody’s story. An emotional second chance romance that is sweet, steamy, poignant and cute. What starts as a one night stand leads to surprise complications and a desire that is unquenchable. With some drama and suspense for added flavor, this well written read was a pure pleasure to read.
Having read the first one in this series I had to grab this one. This one turns out to be tantalizing and sensuous the way it wraps around you with the characters-Fox and Melody. What you want and what you get are also two different things as will be done in here I do believe also. I love a second chance done right especially with the style this author can do. Whiskey is becoming a interesting and passionate place indeed.
If you want to read a story that quickly pull you in, keep you turning the pages, and have you wanting more, then this is the book for you. A story filled with complex, intriguing, believable characters that will enjoy getting to know. The author will bring you along the characters journey. A great book.
How Ms. Ryan can continue to crank out hit after hit just amazes me! This book was no exception. Another great story by Carrie Ann Ryan and Book 2 of the Whiskey Reveals series. This book stands perfectly fine on its own.
Sparks fly instantly between Melody and Fox and you could feel the heat radiating off the pages. Loved the interactions with Ms. Pearl. She is a hoot and I’d love to see her appear in more stories.
As for the big secret Melody was hiding, it surprised me to learn that not only Melody blamed herself but others did as well. I would have thought therapy and just rational thinking would be deflected the blame from her but apparently not!
Overall, this was an excellent story and I cannot wait to see what’s in store for us next.
Carrie Ann Ryan has created another complex world in her Whiskey and Lies series. Whiskey Reveals takes us deeper into the Collins’ family.
Fox has always felt like he didn’t quite measure up to the rest of the family. He’s not as big as his brothers, even though he’s at the gym 4 days a week. He owns his own business, yet he looks at Dare and Loch running multiple businesses in the little town of Whiskey. Heck, his baby sister is pregnant and running multiple businesses in Denver. His feelings of not quite measuring up drive him to work harder, even if HE doesn’t think he’ll ever measure up. He looks at the struggles his brothers have had with their families, and he wants to do it differently. Again, not having a serious relationship and starting a family of his own is another way he’s sure he’s a disappointment to his family.
Melody is trying to start over. She’s been running from her “mistakes” for years. Now she’s ready to try to start over, by taking care of her grandmother and starting a dance studio in Whiskey. She didn’t get to live her dream, but dancing is a part of her soul and she wants to share that by teaching. The guilt she carries around would be enough to crush Atlas, but she doesn’t know how to forgive herself. This is her chance to move on, and she’s not going to ruin it!
I really loved both of these characters in their own ways. Ryan did an amazing job of building the tension, then breaking it with humor. There a ton of twists and turns on Fox and Melody’s path, including lots of feels. Their journey isn’t anything either one of them expected, or even planned for. It’s like they didn’t know what they needed until it happened.
I don’t want to give away anything, but if you love complex and beautifully flawed characters, nosy friends and a family that’s always there, even when you’re not sure you want them that close, you’re going to LOVE what Whiskey Reveals!
Melody is a ballet dancer looking for a new start. An accident ended her initial life goals and brings her to Whiskey. Whiskey drinking leads to an encounter with Fox. This is a steamy read with references to “the incident” which kept me curious as to what that referred to. Happily you do find out the answer. Eventually.
Whiskey Reveals is the 2nd book in the Whiskey & Lies series (Spin-off from Montgomery Ink). Fox is the youngest brother in the Collins family and he’s closest in age to their little sister Tabby (Ink Exposed). Fox is also the least athletic of the bunch and more inclined to be reading or writing. Thankfully he’s never been criticized from him family for being more creative than the rest. Fox himself admits that even for being a writer he doesn’t quite fit in to that typeset either, but he’s just gruff enough to fit right in with his brothers. He’s not quite as ruff as Loch, and I don’t think the town of Whiskey would be able to handle it if he was (one is enough lol).
Melody is trying to find her way, and is trying to find new start in Whiskey. It doesn’t start off quite as smoothly as she hoped, her first night in her new town she meets Fox at his brother’s bar and ends up with an awkward one night stand. As they bump into each other in the small tourist town often she realizes that its best to become friends if she wants the awkward to go away, but it quickly turns into more than friends.
I loved these characters. They are so great together, her nervous rambling is so cute, and he just jumps on the train and joins her in his own little rants. I love that hes different from his brothers but embraces it, other times when you see that in a character it leads to that character being very uncomfortable in their own skin, but Fox just doesn’t really let it get to him. Yes he feel a bit self conscious as the reader knows because its brought up once or twice but he doesn’t let it become a chip on his shoulder . He does what he can to keep up with the rest of the family but doesn’t try to over compensate. As far as Melody you can see where she gets her grit and spitfire personality from. Her grandmother has such a strong personality it would have been easy to drown in that, instead she shines just as bright.
Love, Love, Love, can’t wait for Book 3.
This is the second book in the whiskey and lies series but can be read as a standalone. This is Fox and Melody’s story. They have a one night stand and Melody is gone and Fox can’t stop thinking about her! Three months later she is back to take care of her grandmother and there is still amazing chemistry between Melody and Fox! She has no interest in commitment, will they be able to make it work? Carrie Ann Ryan has written another amazing book, I can’t wait to r as her next book!!
When I started reading I couldn’t put it down.Carrie Ann Ryan is magnifysent writer.I cannot wait to read more of there books.Keep up the great work. You should definitely read this books.
Love Fox and Mels amazing beautiful forbidden love story.Love this series. each book is addicting.Cant atop at one.Very enticing.Cant waitfor Lochs book
This is a good book. I liked Fox and Melody. I was really rooting for them. Melody has a lot in her past that could keep them apart but I liked that she didn’t try to keep it a secret longer than necessary.
I enjoyed this book, though not as much as I’d hoped or as much as I enjoyed Whiskey Secrets. Where Whiskey Secrets was a massive home run for me this one was a solid triple, still pretty great if you ask me. This book follows the life of Fox, the more bookish of the Collins clan and owner of the local newspaper, in his quest for the one night stand that got away…or should I say slunk away in the middle of the night. Melody has just moved to Whiskey for a fresh start with her elderly grandmother and a new dance studio. The two have a good chemistry and sweet story with plenty of steam.
Book 2 in the Whiskey and Lies series is about the youngest brother, Fox, and a woman he met after having one too many whiskey shots one night in his brother’s bar.
Fox is a journalist, and owner of the local news paper. He seems, at times, to be self assured, confident in who he is, and at other times, it seems like he feels inferior to his brothers. Typical of a youngest brother, he looks up to them, and only sees how great they are, missing out on how much he has accomplished. But with Melody, he knows right away that he wants her. Their one night leads to unexpected feelings, that they aren’t sure what, if anything, they are going to do about.
Melody is a dancer down to her bones. When her actions in college lead to major changes in her life, she does a lot of thinking about who she is, where she is going with her life, and the consequences of choices she has made. All of these things lead her to her grandmother, and the small town she lives in. Moving to live with her grandmother also brings her back to the town that Fox lives in, and they are forced to admit that the sparks are still there.
This story is full of surprises! I loved how Fox and Melody are drawn together, and how well they seem to fit each other. I loved how I never knew what was coming next, and how exciting all of those surprises were. I couldn’t put this story down, and am looking forward to Loch’s story next!
Carrie Ann Ryan just killed it with Whiskey Reveals! I am truly loving hard on the Whiskey and Lies series. Fox is my hot and sexy book nerd! I adore HIM! He kind of creeped in sneakily and stole my heart. There I have let it all out and ready to continue 😉
Melody has a past that we all know that she is running from. She decides to start over in the small town in Whiskey with her amazing grandma, Ms. Pearl. So let’s stop again and let me say that Ms. Pearl is the most amazing character I have read about. She has spunk and will not let her age define her. She has become my hero!
Back to Melody and Fox he he…. I truly was on edge not sure if they were be just friends or can they be more? With the the drama surrounding Melody’s past and present, I was just not sure. There is so much happening in this book, but at the same time everything blends in perfectly! I wish I could give this rating more than 5 star! I can not wait to see what is next when we read Loch’s story. These brothers have been through the ringer. Will he finally accept the inevitable?
Whiskey and consequences go hand and hand in this small town just ask Ms Pearl . Fox can’t forget and Melody would give anything to forget their one night of hawt sex but fate has its on agenda. You can’t hide forever especially in a small town.
