“Totally captivating!” – Natasha is a Book JunkieShe was the one thing holding him together. Until she was gone. And then there was whiskey.Fallon Gentry has spent the last decade reliving one dark night in his head. The moment he lost the woman he loved when a single blink cascaded into a series of events that stole both of their lives. Now his nights are spent playing music in southern … their lives. Now his nights are spent playing music in southern honky-tonks and nursing the memory of her the only way he knows how-at the bottom of a whiskey bottle.
A brief stint in Nashville, a hit song, and a brush with Hollywood couldn’t bring him closer to God, but when the ghost of Augusta Belle Branson appears in his corner of another lonely dive bar late after dark, he’s forced to confront everything he thought he knew about that fateful night, and a few things he didn’t.
He’s her contradiction, she’s his salvation.
A firestorm of emotion consumes them when they come together after ten lost years, every moment more revealing, more unpredictable, more intoxicating than the next until the only reckoning left for Fallon is the one he must make with himself. But this time, fate may have left an after-burn too bitter to swallow. This time, he may lose his whiskey girl for good.

4.5 STARS!
Whiskey Girl by Adriane Leigh was my first read by this author and such a beautiful love story it was. A love story brimming with hurtful pasts, regrets, heartbreak, and second chances. A love story that brings Fallon Gentry and Augusta Belle Benson together. They meet one fated, sunny day on a bridge. Fallon saved her from jumping off. But really they saved each other and from that moment on they were glued together. Due to circumstances beyond their control, Fallon and Augusta are separated until they’re reunited 10 years later.
It was such a hard journey for Fallon without his whiskey girl. He carried so much resentment and hurt, never knowing the pain Augusta went through a lot as well. As the story unraveled, lots of truths and secrets come to fruition that shed light on why Augusta had disappeared. Watching these characters grow and seeing their love finally prevail was such an emotional journey.
Whiskey Girl was a timeless love story, filled with music and sunshine. It wasn’t easy; it was messy, raw and real. You’ll be left longing for a love like Fallon and his whiskey girl.
“And the harder the liquor, the more she haunted me. Whiskey Girl. My poisoned lullaby.”
Breath-taking and heart-crushing, this beautifully woven second chancer held me captive and transfixed to the very end. Missed opportunities tore me in two as this story unraveled like a tragic tornado. Fallon and Augusta had that timeless, instantaneous, love of a life-time type of love that speaks to your heart, and just feeling their pain over all of the lost time, and obstacles they had to face both apart and together brought tears to my eyes. A heady tale, it left me breathless, and giddy well after I got to the end, they will stay with me for a long time.
“Augusta Belle Branson was embedded like barbed wire around my soul.”
Powerfully heartfelt, I fell head over heels almost instantly, and knew without a doubt that this book would become one of my favorites. It was emotional magic the way the Author weaves the pain with the passion, the hurt with the hope, and the past with the future. It was simply and spectacularly romantic and what all love stories should aspire to, truly.
“It’d felt like the earth had flipped upside down and inside out, my world never the same again. The night we met like two stars combustin’ together in a perfect, beautiful storm not far from the banks of the Whiskey River.”
Touching, tragic, and in the end, a magical journey with two imperfect people who finally come to know what true love is. This was my first read by this Author and certainly won’t be my last, this book is high on my Top Reads of 2018 list and everyone needs to read this one.
“Whiskey and sunshine, soft angles and rough edges. Nothin’ about us has ever made sense, and that’s exactly the reason we make perfect sense.”

My heart is so happy after reading Whiskey Girl. Their first meeting gripped my heart and their story never loosened. I love how the author goes from past to present and explains their circumstances and decisions. There’s mystery and a little suspense but there’s also heartbreak and tears. Fallon and Augusta Belle are exactly what I needed this summer. I’ll be adding it to my favorites of 2018 list.
When Augusta leaves Fallon without a trace, he drowns himself in his new love. Whiskey.
“My damnation and my salvation.”
Fallon is exactly how I take my book boys. His character was easy to love. Musician, easy on the eyes, smooth.
I was sitting there wondering what Augusta was thinking leaving. Then you learn what happened and wonder how she can be so put together with the hand she was dealt.
Having to deal with it together just make Fallon that much more loveable!
Whiskey is actually the perfect metaphor for this couple. On the rocks, smooth, and neat…they are top shelf. This story tackles it all. I adored the ending and the epilogue made my heart sing.
This was a heartbreaking story. Man, all the emotions. It’s hard to believe that such a plotline could realistically exist in this age, but I fear it could; which makes me both sad and angry. I think this was a sorrowful and joyous read about the breadth of human emotion.
Fallon Gentry is a gritty musician. Augusta Belle Branson is his high school sweetheart. They were dealt some unfair hands. We follow how they deal with the consequences of their high school love affair and life’s twists and turns.
Fallon is a raw and dark singer. He’s attempting to drown his sorrows and demons in whiskey. He’s been to Nashville after high school and did the “Star” thing, but couldn’t hold the position due to his Whiskey Girl problem. Augusta Belle is younger than him, with parents who didn’t approve of Fallon. They each struggle with choices that were made for them, forced upon them, and how to move forward.
Fallon and Augusta Belle don’t struggle at all with their chemistry. They were part of the lucky few that meet their love in high school. And despite their separation over the years, the bond between the two is still strong. Their characters lacked a certain trust and innate connection, and emotional ability to deal with their love and their situations. Their love was never in question though.
This was my first time reading an Adriane Leigh book. I found the beginning of this book choppy and hard to keep straight, and hard to get lost in the story. Once I kept going and got the story line, I was intrigued and stuck with the reading. Chapter One did open with a heck of an opening line. I think I struggled with the back and forth of the timeline and wrapping my head around the way the parents acted.
I wanted so much to love this book from the blurb alone. But I had such trouble getting into the story, and then keeping all the details straight as they were presented, and believing some of the plot points. I’m not sure if I am being naive that some of the situations can’t happen anymore, or I’m out of touch and those situations exist; either way, it made it hard for me to read. By the end, I was able to follow, and enjoy the happily ever after the characters enjoyed. I’m intrigued enough to try another book by the author!

The title caught my interest and I was drawn onto the stunning blurb..
This second chance romance wasnt your normal read… Adriane had fine ways to write the story.. it was a slow burn.. You want it slow to capture the depth of the story.. how they poured out the inner emotions.. Fallon and Augusta fell in love with each other since the beginning..
Their ways to save each other.. crazy emotional love.. Nothing came easy… Everyone need a way out.. Fallon had his whiskey..
Adriane had captured the level of emotions with elegant and yet it was hard to get through.. The feeling of loss and abandoness within the love.. I have cried for the loss and hopeless..
Can they have it again after the mess?? I love everything about Whiskey Girl.. the song.. the emotions behind how it happened.. Love it!
I couldn’t wait to read this book for many reasons. First, it’s been a while since Adriane Leigh has released a book. Secondly, have you seen this cover and that blurb? Lastly, I have never been disappointed by this authors work and Whiskey Girl was no different……A.M.A.Z.I.N.G!
This book had lots of feels. I couldn’t wait to get back to these two. Their story full of hurt, longing, secrets, hope and most of all love. All I could do was go along for the ride. They were so caught up in each other that age was irrelevant and they thought that they were just biding their time till they could finally be together. It’s what they didn’t know that would change the course of their lives.
I am a total sucker for a man hell bent on destroying himself only to forget the one that got away. Fallon was all music, bars and the bottom of whiskey bottle until Augusta reappears in his life. His pain and his need palpable. You could feel the restraint and the love he had for Augusta tearing him apart.
Augusta was a perfect match for Fallon. Her daring perspective, sassy attitude coupled with her regret and her absolute need for Fallon. They were each other’s light in the darkness, the salvation that they needed to survive the life that they had been handed.
The story is well paced giving you enough backstory to take this journey with Fallon and Augusta. There is some foreshadowing thrown in there to give you a glimmer of what may come. A web of deceit that slowly untangles setting you free to embrace the love between Fallon and Augusta and their future.
I truly could go on and on about this book but you need to experience it for yourself. So, go #1click and introduce yourself to Fallon Gentry and Augusta Belle Branson. Something tells me they may leave a lasting impression.
Fallon and his Whiskey Girl Augusta went through hell and back to get their HEA. They were taken from each other and forced to be apart and when years later they were reunited hidden secrets were revealed that made their reunion exciting and interesting. Good read

Fallon is a country singer putting all his heart in his music. His girl disappears on him just a quick as she came into his life. He wonders what happened and why she left. Now years later Augusta reappears and Fallon doesn’t want anything to do with her. However he can’t seem to stay away from her. There’s a lot he wants to know before they move forward. Will she tell him why she disappeared? Can he forgive her for leaving? will they be able to move on?
This is a great story that will have you on the edge of your seat. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

So that emotional tsunami happened! Whiskey Girl is like if Kyland by Mia Sheridan & The Silent Waters by Brittainey C. Cherry came together and had a baby. That baby is Whiskey Girl. If you haven’t read either of those books then that is meaningless, but if you have, that should tell you a whole lot about what goes on between these pages!
Fallon and Augusta have history. I’m not going to detail it because that history you should read blind. To say it’s tragic is an understatement. You know those incidents or news report you hear about where this or that happened so some unsuspecting person and then the aftermath of tragedy that follows etc etc etc and this tiny little thought waaaay in the back of your mind is saying that would never happen to me? That is this story . It’s a giant of a story. There is a lot to digest. So many events (some people would call them twists) that unfolded during this story that I was a bit overwhelmed some of the time. It helped tremendously to have the dual POV.
This really is a great story, but it isn’t one I can tell you much about. Knowing the plot points or events of this journey would render reading this book useless. I hate that there are so many reviews with details about Fallon and Augusta’s life because if you don’t go in blind, you’re missing out on the essence of this journey. It’s a life journey and in life, no one gets to see what happens till it happens so don’t read too many reviews before you grab this book LOL #trust
His #1 hit
—>>> Lovers from opposite sides of Chickasaw Ridge, Fallon and Augusta forge an instant alliance when they meet atop a bridge…right before she jumps off. Something about those gorgeous whiskey eyes makes him follow, and Fallow discovers that she is one fiery daredevil of a girl, something good in his life he just cannot seem to let go of in his heart and mind, even when she mysteriously disappears for a decade. And THEN she has the real nerve to crash right back into his life, just when he was ready to move on, straight down into another bottle. Fallon and Augusta’s second chance at love was something meant to happen, no matter what forces drove them apart all those years ago.
The only thing Augusta Belle’s parents ever agreed on was the urgency to get her away from Fallon, the older boy from the wrong side of town. Augusta and Fallon meet in a rather strange yet almost amusing situation, and quickly become each other’s lifeline. He’s five years older, and never pushes her. Suddenly, on the worst day for his family, she’s gone, and nothing is ever right in their lives again. Until 10 years later, when she finds him and doesn’t leave. This is such a wonderful book, full of heartbreak and happiness, regrets and forgiveness, second chances, secrets, addiction, undying love. I shed tears of both pain and joy while reading about their journey. This is my first read from this author, but most certainly not the last.

I loved this book. Fallon and Augusta Belle came from different sides of town, but both had sad lives at home. They fell for each other and ( without giving the story away) years later, they reconnect. There are flashbacks that fill in what happened to them. There were some secrets revealed that really put things together. The ending was as I hoped, happily ever after!
This story for me was exquisitely beautiful and heartbreakingly breathtaking. It is gritty and cruel yet so amazing that you will find yourself wanting to continue this story even after the last word is read. I found myself pleasantly heartbroken and yet full of something that no words can describe. I have had this reaction to a few books I have read but this one sits in my soul hoping I will go back to it and relive the amazing ride I just got off of. Miss Leigh has written a story of heartbreak and soul searing love that makes me wish I was apart of it all, and yes I was, just reading her words let me escape to the brilliance of this story. I found this book purely by accident and to sure to be read in one sitting. I am a profound reader and find myself escaping into some of my books just to relieve the stress of real life. This book I hold close as I do so many others but this one left me feeling like I had a reason to go on. You know those books that dig deep and leave you wanting more, this is one of those books. I can not express to you what that feels like in words as there are no words to express that feeling. Either you have it or you do not. This book will leave you with a sense of gosh why I want to subject myself to that kind of feeling but you strive every day for the kind of love and life that you want to see portrayed though your own eyes and not look at it from someone else perspective. I want the kind of love that will go on forever and resonate within my soul. Some are fortunate enough to feel that and live it while others just go through the motions. This is one of those books that will seize you and will have you begging for it to be true. I am thoroughly recommending this book to EVERYONE!

Adriane is a new author for me but when I saw this cover and read the synopsis I couldn’t resist it. I am so glad that I did. This is one of the most painfully gut wrenching stories that I have read in a while but I was captivated from the first page and couldn’t put it down.
When we first meet Fallon Gentry he is an almost washed up musician who has left behind the successful Nashville career he always wanted, to find the woman whose sudden disappearance has haunted him for ten year. He is now on the road continually, either running from or seeking his Whiskey Girl. He plays in dive bars and the whiskey that he continually pours down his neck often makes him believe that he sees her, but it is not her, until one night it is.
Augusta Belle walked out of his life with no goodbye and now they have found each other. Fallon’s pain and anger built up over ten years comes back to hit him full force and he has to take refuge in a whiskey bottle but he knows despite his anger he cannot resist her but he needs to know why she left him.
As the story skips between their past growing up and the present day and alternates between each character’s point of view we come to understand why they have such an intense connection. But Augusta has many heart wrenching secrets to reveal and these will change Fallon’s life forever.
Whew this book is difficult to read in parts and be ready with your box of tissues. Adriane shows us that true love never dies and has the power of forgiveness as these two become united in right the wrongs done to them so long ago. This story will stay with you for a while, it is definitely one of the best of the year.
When I started to read this book, I wasn’t sure if I would like it. I think it was how this book started but now I’m thinking it fit so well to the story. But more I read more I liked it. Usually I really don’t like if book goes between now and past but good for this book. You find out what happened to Fallon and Augusta Belle. It was a bit sad but I was happy that they found each other again and could be happy again.
A decision one night by Augusta (FMC) to jump from a bridge in a suicide attempt gets thwarted by Fallon. Starting an unlikely friendship between two people who are not only complete opposites of each other in age differences but in regards to money. Augusta’s family has it and Fallon’s doesnt. Neither of which make much difference to either of them. When one night they take their relationship further it puts them on a collision course that changes their lives for good. Oh god did this book bring on the feels. I literally cried tears of joy and sadness reading it. Two people that found a kinship & love that began in their childhood but even with that brutal hurdles they faced i so wanted them to get their HEA. This book was a joy to read even if it did break my heart a few times. Reading it was so worth it to get that ending. A totally great read
Fantastic story! Characters that will steal your heart. A storyline that keeps you on the edge of your seat and glued to your kindle! For me it was a love- hate deal as the characters face their demons. You will feel their emotions and struggles. A definite must read.

This is a beautiful love story filled with angst, pain, joy, and love. Fallon and Augusta Belle fell in love and became each other’s saviors while Augusta was a minor. Unfortunately, they were ripped apart without closure and suffered being apart for 10 years before they were reunited. Easing into each other’s lives again was challenging as they relived their pain and betrayal. But Fallon and Augusta Belle truly were each other’s savior a second time around. This story took me on an incredible journey. I felt like I was with them every step of the way experiencing their ups and downs …. twists and turns. I loved how wise Fallon was and how much heart they each had. This book made me feel so many emotions. I recommend you see/feel for yourself and read Whiskey Girl! It’s worth it.

Second chance books are some of the best reads and this one was phenomenal. Fallon Gentry is a traveling singer from bar to bar with more than whiskey on his mind. Aurora Belle… the one that got away.
What did I like? The cover is absolutely lickable…yum. Fangirling moment. Seriously though this is the type of second chance romance we can drool over. The only thing separating these two was time and distance. Ten year is a long time but in this case it was just right. Augusta seeks out Fallon and sets out to win what should of been hers always.
Would I recommend or buy? Second chance lovers will definitely give this one a chance. Just a nice HEA and a tad bit of angst. No cheating or other triggers just some misconceptions and missing time. Very enjoyable book.
Thoughts for the author? Congratulations, delightful book. Thanks to Booksprout for allowing me a free copy to read an offer an opinion. I loved it.
