#1 New York Times bestselling author Nora Roberts weaves together passion and obsession, humor and heart, in a novel of two people opening themselves up to the truth — and to each other.
For more than three hundred years, Bluff House has sat above Whiskey Beach, guarding its shore — and its secrets. But to Eli Landon, it’s home.
A Boston lawyer, Eli has weathered an intense year of public … has weathered an intense year of public scrutiny and police investigations after being accused of — but never arrested for — the murder of his soon-to-be ex-wife.
He finds sanctuary at Bluff House, even though his beloved grandmother is in Boston recuperating from a nasty fall. Abra Walsh is always there, though. Whiskey Beach’s resident housekeeper, yoga instructor, jewelry maker and massage therapist, Abra is a woman of many talents — including helping Eli take control of his life and clear his name. But as they become entangled in each other, they find themselves caught in a net that stretches back for centuries — one that has ensnared a man intent on reaping the rewards of destroying Eli Landon once and for all.

This story takes place in an old house that is a character of it’s own. I do wish she hadn’t gone so deep into the treasure hunting history but I understand the house had to have a backstory too. There were the usual suspension of disbelief moments that compare to an Angela Landsberry whodunnit, but nothing so great that you feel cheap. Plus… I loved the title. I don’t know where this beach is but if they serve whiskey… I’m in. The romance was warm and smart and I loved the secret passages… they present great opportunity to be in close quarters.
I enjoyed this book; there is good mystery and beautiful romance.
I very much enjoyed this book.
Nora Roberts’ stories always keep the reader spellbound!
A good read mystery Romance good and a good flow to the storyline.
I have had trouble reading Nora Roberts books in the past. Something about the structure, the characters not quite fitting… I could never finish a book. This one, I did. I enjoyed the structure even if I realized who the killer was five chapters before the last one. The characters were real and easy to relate to. There were still a few no-nos as to what a specific type of person might do or not do but on the whole, the book was a page-turner. I stayed with it until the very end. I recommend this book.
Is one of my favorite books that she has written. Just a fabulous entertaining read!
Easy beach read with mystery, romance and interesting characters.
Great read. Just a fun summer read. Entertaining — with a mystery!
Outstanding as usual. Always love anything by Nora Roberts.
Not my favorite. Was boring in places.
I just finished this book. It caught my attention from the beginning but the twists and bit of information kept you guessing until the last chapter. Who did kill the lawyer’s wife? Was it the lover? If not, who?
Was pretty good but I have read better books from this author.
Loved it!
Informative and very easy to read
Couldn’t put this one down
