#1 New York Times bestselling author Nora Roberts weaves together passion and obsession, humor and heart, in a novel of two people opening themselves up to the truth — and to each other.
For more than three hundred years, Bluff House has sat above Whiskey Beach, guarding its shore — and its secrets. But to Eli Landon, it’s home.
A Boston lawyer, Eli has weathered an intense year of public … has weathered an intense year of public scrutiny and police investigations after being accused of — but never arrested for — the murder of his soon-to-be ex-wife.
He finds sanctuary at Bluff House, even though his beloved grandmother is in Boston recuperating from a nasty fall. Abra Walsh is always there, though. Whiskey Beach’s resident housekeeper, yoga instructor, jewelry maker and massage therapist, Abra is a woman of many talents — including helping Eli take control of his life and clear his name. But as they become entangled in each other, they find themselves caught in a net that stretches back for centuries — one that has ensnared a man intent on reaping the rewards of destroying Eli Landon once and for all.

Typical Nora Roberts. Easy read. No violence.
Great read
Could not put it down.
I love Nora Roberts and this book was a great read! Good mystery and I cared about the characters. Would highly recommend.
This book is a very good Nora Roberts. The best of her books combine a good suspenseful story and a good romance and this book does that. The characters are both likeable and you can understand their motivations. And you feel very happy when the story concludes which is always a plus.
What can one say – it’s Nora Roberts! Just plan on some non-stop reading…
What a great heroine! Whimsical, laid-back in contrast to the angst-ridden hero. And who would have thought that pirates of a bygone age would figure so largely in the plot? The usual great NR production.
Absolutely loved it. One of those books you enjoy reading another time
Nora Roberts never disappoints. It’s not a squeaky-clean read, but it offers the Nora style of well-turned phrases and some marvelous characters unlike any you’ve read or met in real life. The community of Whiskey Beach is so clearly described and the characters who people it so rounded and well-developed that I almost feel I’ve had my own beach vacation, and I’m ready to move in to Bluff House any time, mystery and all.
If you want a page-turner that may keep you up at night, one delivers on excitement and atmosphere while creating a swoon-worthy couple in love, Whiskey Beach fills the bill nicely.
An engaging love story with a mysterious element that adds to the novel in a great entertaining way.
A great read. Solid story from Nora Roberts. Something I could read again because I found the characters appealing. There were parts where the story lagged–fine for when it was written but today, readers expect a faster pace. I enjoy a book that lasts longer than a day and a half, though, and this one was an easy read. I would probably give it 4.5 Stars since I plan on reading it again.
You can’t go wrong with Nora Roberts. This is just one more of her great stories
Well, it’s not surprising that a lot of people here at Bookbub really seem to like this book. And why not?? It’s written by Nora Roberts, an author who happens to be a real whiz at creating spectacular romantic suspense novels! Allow me to add to all of the people who really enjoyed reading the book! Whiskey Beach is an enjoyable, suspenseful, sometimes scary, and truly romantic story about a lawyer who visits the beach town where a relative lives in Bluff House, a quaint, lovely house by the beach. Even though he came because she is in the hospital after a nasty fall, he’s also relieved to escape from his problems for awhile. Who wouldn’t be after discovering that their wife had been murdered right in the middle of a divorce between the two?? Especially when the police consider you their prime suspect?? But he won’t find his stay at Bluff House entirely relaxing after he finds that his grandmother’s accident was actually an attempted murder. In fact, he and Abra Walsh, an attractive, multitalented neighbor will find themselves drawn into an intriguing mystery involving a centuries-old buried treasure that can apparently be found somewhere in the basement, a pirates’ treasure. This will happen even as Abra tries to help the lawyer clear his name of his (almost) ex-wife’s murder. And in the middle of it all, the pair will find themselves falling in love. If anything makes you want to pack your bags and head for a beach vacation, this charming, suspenseful, enchanting page-turner from master storyteller Nora Roberts will! It’s no mystery why so many of us bookworms are fans of her books!
I’ve tried to read this book three times, and I keep getting bored. It feels disjointed.
I’ll try again soon, and if I can finish, I’ll update the review.
