Whiskers and Warrants by Jinty James is the third book in this series. It has everything a cozy mystery should have – and more. Baristas’ Lauren and Zoe run a cafe serving great coffee and pastries. It also has Annie, a Norwegian Forest cat as the hostess who shows customers to their seats in the cafe! When Lauren and her cousin, Zoe, attend an advanced latte class, the find more than how to make a swan on the latte. When the instructor is murdered, Lauren and Zoe try to solve the mystery and may even have put themselves in danger.
I enjoyed this story. It is well developed and many of the characters are continuations from previous books in this series. I received this book as an advanced reader copy and I always review every book that I read. I highly recommend this one if you are a fan of cozy mysteries or cats!
I loved, loved, loved it!
Lauren, Zoe and Annie (the cat) have a new case on their hands. Annie is the undisputed star of this lovely series. A series with lovable characters! I loved, loved, loved it! An enjoyable read all the way through. I don’t know what it is, but it feels like home. Lauren and Zoe feel like friends and Annie, I can almost touch her she’s so real. Just scratch her behind the ear. Brrt!
Quote:
“Brrt,” Annie said approvingly, peering over the table at the cake.
“I don’t think it would be good for you if you had any,” Lauren told her.
“Brrp.” Annie gave a little grumble and settled down in her chair.
So cute!
Welcome to the Cat Café where Annie, the
silver-gray Norwegian Forest Cat awaits to
seat the customers.
The Crenshaw cousins, Lauren and Zoe
came to Gold Leaf Valley to run the café.
Lauren inherited the café and her
grandmother’s house.
An advanced latte class for two students but
but five showed up, a teenage girl, her mother,
a wannabe barista plus Lauren and Zoe, one
coarse insulting instructor, learning to create
swan and peacock lattes, an extra week
added to course, delicious decorative cake,
a dead body stabbed, warrants, the cat
discovers a clue, a change in the grumpy
customer, an online scam, knitting, crocheting,
string art and a unexpected date make this a
fun read!!
Colorful, well defined, interesting characters
involved in creative activities with danger plus
suspense. A fast paced well plotted read with
a touch of humor and romance.
This is book # 3 in the A Norwegian Forest Cat
Café Mystery series. It can be read as a stand
alone as the author mixes the past and present
smoothly with her skilled writing.
A Highly Recommended Read!!
I volunteered to read the ARC of Whiskers and
Warrants. Thanks to the author for the
opportunity. My opinion is voluntary and my
own.
Zoe and Lauren are taking an advanced class in latte art from an internationally known barista. When the class ends and they go back into the building to buy some coffee beans, they find the instructor dead with a knife in him. Back home, Lauren and Detective Mitch are going on their first date. Unfortunately, they can not stay out of getting involved in finding the killer. Come along with Zoe, Lauren and of course Annie and see how things turn in a way no one expected. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
