From best-selling author Melanie Summers comes an irresistibly romantic, delightfully funny tale of love, passion, books, and food… Bay, she’s shuffled off to the resort’s new private island getaway, where she’ll be stuck catering to the rich and shameless. Her first assignment is to serve Pierce Davenport, an infuriatingly arrogant writer with a palate that’s about as adventurous as a plain boiled potato.
Pierce Davenport is living every author’s dream—his critically-acclaimed Clash of Crowns books have been turned into one of the world’s most-watched television series. The only problem is, he has no idea how to end the epic fantasy tale. After two long years, his fans are turning on him, his publisher is panicking, and the network executives have announced they’re hiring a team of scriptwriters to finish (a.k.a. ruin) his legacy for him.
In dire need of solitude, he escapes to the Island of Eden for two distraction-free months so he can pull off the impossible—write an entire novel from start to finish. All he wants is peace and quiet, but when disaster strikes, he’s forced to rely on irritating-but-beautiful Emma to deliver more than just three meals a day.
Putting Pierce and Emma together is like combining orange juice and toothpaste. Will their differences be their ruin or will they be the secret ingredient to each other’s success?

The second in the Crown Jewels spin-off of Paradise Bay. In The Honeymooner, we got to meet Harrison Banks, owner/operator of Paradise Bay resort. During the course of that, we also get to meet his sister, Emma, who is the MC of this book. Emma has completed culinary school and is returning to the Benevente Islands to take her place as head chef of one of the resort’s illustrious restaurants. Emma receives a head chef position all right, but it turns out not to be all it’s cracked up to be.
Pierce Davenport has created one of the best loved book series in recent memory. Now a lot of people are clamoring for the final installment, including Pierce’s editor and the powers that be at the cable network that has been airing a miniseries of Pierce’s story. Unfortunately, Pierce has been unable to complete the story. He decides he need to be free of distractions to finally finish his story the way he wants. He decides to book into the private retreat in the Benevente Islands to concentrate. What will happen when Pierce and Emma need to interact with each other? Pick up Whisked Away today and find out!
I very much enjoyed this book. I found the quality and quantity of the humor at least on par with (if not excelling) Ms. Summers’ other works. I especially liked Emma’s best friend, Priya. I hope she gets a book of her own down the line. I always have a good time when I read a Melanie Summers book and this was no exception. I can’t wait for my next trip back to Paradise Bay.
This is Paradise Bay #2 and I LOVED it so much! The hero is a hot writer (my personal catnip) going to a tropical island as a writing retreat and the heroine is his grumpy, unimpressed, doesn’t-want-to-be-there, personal chef. I loved these two together and I loved the tropical setting and the humor. It’s the perfect escape right now. Try it out.
She has just finished college and she expects to take her place as head chef but she is sent to the island resort instead. She has to pamper to the rich and she is not happy about it. He has written a popular series and now he needs to write the ending but he just cannot come up with it. They will clash. Can they help each other? Will it all end in disaster? See how it goes

Gosh, I loved this book! Book 2 in the Paradise Bay Romantic is funny, heart-warming, fun, and witty, and the chemistry between the two main characters is fabulous. I totally recommend this book.
Melanie Summers is one of my fave authors! I love how each book just gets even better!
A famous author named Pierce Davenport comes to stay at Paradise Bay’s Island of Eden, where Emma Banks (recently graduated from the Culinary Institute of America) is newly employed to cater to the rich (and she isn’t happy about it!). Pierce is taking a couple months to finish a new book that will tie up a popular series he writes and that is a TV show (with a Game of Thrones type level of popularity), but then he meets Emma (hello, romance!) and then things don’t go as he originally planned, which makes this read all the more fun!

I don’t know when exactly it happened, but ever since I started reading the Crown Jewels series – I’ve become this crazy super fan of Ms. Summers. I just love her books, her writing style and the way she sucks me into her books. I find myself only wanting to read and sadly ignoring all my adulting obligations (good thing my kids are teenagers and can sort of feed themselves). These stories are fun to read – it’s like reading a Rom-Com movie. They are funny, witty, full of sexy characters that have you laughing and crying and cheering when they get their HEA. Thank you for writing such great books and for keeping me so thoroughly entertained.
This is a MUST have author to include in your book collection. BUY these books!!!!
Happy reading…enjoy!
Absolutely loved Wisked Away. Wonderful characters and laugh out loud funny. A definite 5+ star book
I loved this one even more than the first in the series (and I absolutely loved that one). Seriously – if you haven’t read these yet… DO IT!
An idillic secluded island, an excentric damaged writer, a witty chef, ferocious iguanas, naughty little dogs and many of other details make the most hilarious, and at times heart-breaking, story. Emma and Pierce make such a uniqie pair. I laughed outloud at their antics, cry my eyes out in their lowest moments and smile with teary eyes at their happiest ones. And by the end, I ended believing in humanity and the healing power of love. My favourite book in the series so far.

An enjoyable summer time or snowed in for winter read. The author does such a great job writing the story and developing the characters, you’ll want to jump in the story and spend time with them. You will definitely not be disappointed grabbing your copy of this book and start reading.

Romance in Paradise
This is a wonderfully satisfying romantic comedy. It is almost clean with a PG-13 rating. This book is the second in a very fine series that can be read alone but are great read in order. The book has all of the ‘feels’ with wealth, romance, family, satisfying careers, and incredible talent to enhance the falling in love. The story lays out well with none of the annoying ‘that would never happen’ moments. There are lots of smiles and a few laughing out loud moments, too. I am excited to read the next book. I received this ARC book for free from Booksprouts and this is my honest review.
A charming, entertaining novel. Each episode in this series is an independent, novel, therefore can be read in any order. I should have started with this book rather than the other brother’s story first since I knew how this one would end. Never mind, it was still a very enjoyable read, bringing a new twist to the story even though most of the scenes and locations were shared between the books. Both of the main characters, Emma and Pierce, as well as the supporting characters, were described and developed very well, the dialogues and soliloquies expressed with great vocabulary in a style, which is easy to follow and hard to put down. Both books I read were edited to a very high standard, which increases the enjoyment of reading a book. The attention to detail is often missing from other books. but not when this author is in charge. The book is a lovely, clean romance story, yet there is a lot of anticipated heat between our lovers. There is quite a bit of emotional analysis of what should constitute a selfless love towards one’s object of desire. The author handled the transition from one scene to another seamlessly and without losing any of the thread of the storyline. All in all. this book is a lovely, at times light-hearted insight into the role families play in one’s emotional and personality development and what it takes to influence it enough to break a vicious cycle. We are witnesses to a lovely HEA and the adage ”all we need is love” is proven true yet again.

This is book two in the Paradise Bay Romantic Comedy series. Meet Emima and Pierce. Emma is got her sights on being the head chef at one of her family’s resort restaurants but she is bumped to being a private chef for one of the executive guests. Pierce is a writer under the gun to write a book that will complete a series. He is struggling and is feeling the pressure to get this done. I loved the analogy of these two characters being like orange juice and toothpaste, it describes Emma and Pierce perfectly. Sometimes opposites can attract and this is one of those fun, light hearted stories. Enjoy!

Emma is disappointed in her first assignment as a new chef at the family resort – catering to boring rich people. First up is Pierce, and brilliant author with writer’s block, trying to complete his current book series. He also has a totally unrefined palate, unable to appreciate Emma’s culinary talents. These two are so complete opposite, yet so complete perfect for each other. There’s really terrific banter between them, and the book just flew along. This is my first read from this author, but not the last (starting The Suite Life tonight).

Emma, recently graduated from culinary school in NYC, is excited to try out her fusion cuisine at her family’s Caribbean resort, envisioning her new life as head chef. Instead, she is placed on Eden, their new private island, to try her skills on a writer struggling with writer’s block and having no interest in her culinary talents. The famous fantasy writer, Pierce Davenport, is there for solitude so that he can write the final book in his Clash of Crowns series. His publisher and fans are tired of waiting and, if he doesn’t get this finished within 2 months, the network will insist on hiring screenwriters to complete the project! There is no way they could ever do it justice!
Emma has no idea who this fussy man is, but when a hand injury stops any progress on Pierce’s novel, she becomes his transcriber in return for positive comments about the resort. Will he complete his book on time? Will working closing with each other open the doors for something more?
This was a good book with a clever story line and great characters. Emma was just what Pierce needed and she let him see the world through her eyes instead of closing everyone out. Grab your copy and see if dreams really do come true!
Brilliant. Wonderful. I loved it. It hooked me just as easily, maybe even more so, as the first book did. Just a few pages in and I knew I’d want to read the book from beginning to end in one sitting…and I did. The characters and setting a plot were amazing! I don’t know how she does. So engaging. The humor. The roller coaster ride. Truly amazing.

Pierce Davenport is in a bind. He’s got everyone from his publisher, to the head of the studio that makes the tv show based on his fantasy series, to his rabid fans breathing down his neck to finish the final book and get it to the script writers so they can get it started. But he’s got the worst case of writer’s block ever, one that’s lasted two years now, and he doesn’t know how to end the series. Deciding to get away from it all, he heads to Paradise Bay’s secluded island, aptly titled Eden. As the first and only guest, he won’t have to deal with anyone, save the butler, maid, and chef assigned to him.
Emma Banks has finally graduated from the Culinary Institute of America and is back home. Helping her brother run Paradise Bay as the head chef of one of the hotel’s restaurants has been her dream for as far back as she can remember. Except, she’s not handed one of the restaurants. No, she has to live on a houseboat and cook in the worst kitchen ever for the only resident of their new private island resort. To top it all off, the super-rich Pierce Davenport is an a**. At least he is whenever they have an encounter.
Emma’s been relegated to leaving his meals outside for him to grab. After a freak accident, Emma reluctantly agrees to help him type his book out while he dictates. The only problem, when they’re together, sparks fly. Not always the best situation when one is seeking solitude. Now they’re staying in his house together since he works long hours and they’re forced to spend all their time together while they get all the words down.
This is the second book in the Paradise Bay series and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed them so far. The writing, the characters, and the story arc all draw you in and don’t let you go. I personally love all the scene descriptions. They’re so well done that I can actually picture the island paradise, even though I’ve personally never been to one. I can’t wait to read what’s next from Ms. Summers, she’s fast becoming one of my favorite romantic comedy authors.
*I received an arc of this story and this is my honest and voluntary review
I loved the “family” scenes. I think everybody can relate to introducing their partner to crazy relatives.
This is the second book in this series. I really enjoyed reading it. The characters were such a joy to read about. It was filled with humor and romance. I snickered throughout the book at Emma and Pierce. The way they acted toward each other was such a love conenection.
