As always, Barbara Delinsky takes you into the lives of people and their hopes, dreams and tragedies. You can relate completely with her characters and you become part of the story. She masters the characters and the place they play within the story. One of my favorite authors.
great author
A great study of the emotions in the wake of a tragic incident of the people adjacent to the incident , and the emotions on end of life decisions and organ donation. Well-written and moves right along.
Excellent book. It grabbed me at the first page and didn’t let me go until the last. And then I was sorry it was over.
I found the situation of the tragic accident of a family member and it subsequent family decisions on life or death, an interesting read. I produced family unity somewhat, but more controversy among them. The individual characters were well developed and story twists made for a page turning literary experience.
The story carried so much sadness during the unfolding with a multitude of complexities in the family relationships with various secrets coming to light. Tragedy and difficulties of facing the letting go of a daughter/sister through death revealed secrets difficult to face yet at the same time allowed the various characters to strengthen their bond. For this family the buried secrets revealed were a necessity to face the loss of their loved one and to bring peace within themselves.
This was truly a deeply emotional story with interesting sideline characters. I highly recommend this book and the author, Barbara Delinsky, for future readings.
wonderful!
Once again, a very stressful situation with some characters I really didn’t like. I do like this author very much, and it was a good story, but lots of angst.
A mother and her relationship with her children.. so enlightening.. cried more than I wanted to but enjoyed the story and the outcome.
good book
Thought provoking
Enjoyed this book from first page.
Full of life twist
I like Barbara Delinsky’s books and this was a great read. It’s a touching story as well as inspirational and I highly recommend it.
Ok.
soul searching
This book was all over the place with characters that were difficult to relate to. If you want a villain in the story, then stick to it. Nick’s character was good, then bad, good again, hateful the next minute and a weepy one to end the story. Plot out your characters before incorporating them in a storyline.
Complex characters with complex relationships. A story of how tragedy can bring a family together, or tear it apart. Well worth your time to read this book.
A great story about the difficult decisions that must be made by a family of a brain-dead relative. it also treats very realisticlly the process that parents and loved one must go through before they can allow the patient to die. A great though tragic read.
So great, now I have to read them all!
I love this book, so inspirational and deals with life and death in a Truly authentic read
