“Sisters are for sharing laughter and wiping tears.” ~ Author Unknown. When Perry shows up on Grace’s doorstep, pregnant and penniless, Grace is shocked. In the past, she has always been there to bail Perry out of trouble. But this time is different. Grace is on the fast track to become a partner in her high-powered NYC law firm. The last thing she needs is her screw-up sister and a fatherless … infant to take care of. And when Perry disappears, leaving her six-week-old baby behind, Grace realizes what an impossible position Perry has placed her in. The only solution appears to be putting little Emily up for adoption. Or is it? Once again, Patricia Kay delivers the kind of wrenching, emotional, family oriented story she is known for. You will fall in love with the Campisi sisters and find yourself rooting for both Grace and Perry. And if you don’t have a sister of your own, you’ll wish you did.

Awesome reading. Great example if “when one door closes, another opens”. Truly enlightening book. I love the depiction of strong women.
Great story. Did not go where I thought it was going. Realistic and emotion packed. I really enjoy this author.
Family dynamics play a big part as sisters who are so different deal with this surprise. Love proves stronger than problems and the twist at the end is well done.
This book started out reminding me of the movie Baby Boom. But it evolved into a more complex novel. I did enjoy reading it and it was not quite as predictable as I thought it would be. A coming of age for the over 35 set. Good read start to finish.
This book takes the sister relationship and makes it real. It gives an insight to dysfunctional relationships and hope for healing. It turns out for the best but at first the reader feels they might not approve.
Book was ok….for an evening inside
Thought provoking book about family and relationships.
Entirely predictable.
This was a book that I could not put down. It was romantic and the characters believable. Would recommend this book.
Good book, with a twist to the main character’s original life-plan.
Very entertaining book with realistic characters that were willing to do what they needed to do to save family and ended up make their lives more fulfilling in the end
Fantastic book . Really hard to put down. Very well written
Lightweight reading. Needs to be edited more closely. Several times passages were repeated on the page n
intriguing without being enjoyable!
Too much of the same old, same old. Not enough description into the charters.
This book was so good. It dealt with real life issues and you could easily relate to the characters. Looking forward to reading more of this author’s work. Good read!!
If you enjoy Lifetime movies, you’ll enjoy this book. Th first half of the book was exciting, the second half predictable.
It’s ok..pretty predictable but an easy read none the less.. not the best book I’ve read but, certainly not the worst. The main characters have good chemistry
I really wanted to love this book, the cover is so cute, in the end though, (and parts throughout the book) I was left heartbroken. In the end the author tried to write a “but it’s okay, because THIS wonderful thing happened”. It didn’t cut it for me. Some people loved it, everybody likes different books. One other thing that still has me shaking my head, after finishing the book over a week ago…one of the characters says something like, “This will never happen because…” and he seems to sincerely be unmovable and angry with this character. Next thing you know, this person he mentioned is doing what he says will “never happen”, with no explanation whatsoever. How did we jump from Point A to Point Z and expect the readers to accept it? I’m completely dumbfounded. If you haven’t read the book, you may think I’m picking on something completely pointless, but if you’ve read it, you may understand. Throughout the book you get quotes about the bonding of sisters. But if my sister was this selfish and clueless, I’d throttle her. I gave it two stars, only for effort.
Good story about an unexpected event that changes a NYC career woman’s life forever for the best.
