This was a great book! I enjoyed all the twists and turns of the storyline and getting to know the characters (especially Fent…Sigh).
billionaire, stand alone, hot alpha
Billionaire, stand alone, hot alpha
A definite MUST READ
Loved Fenton Abbott! Totally a swoon worthy alpha. Strong and confident Brynne. Chemistry, hot…. Angst, a little…. Really enjoyed this fast paced, hard to put down read. Go get Bent with Fent! Totally worth it!
4.5 stars for this uniquely seductive romance that will capture you from the very start. It expertly weaves together suspense, intrigue, romance, steamy sex and fun banter. Fenton Abbott and Brynne Calloway are both dealing with very stressful situations in their lives when they meet by chance. They are drawn to each other from the very start. Brynne finds Fenton, a successful business man, to be extremely sexy and also kind and compassionate. Fenton is attracted to not only Brynne’s beauty but also her intelligence, strength, wit, and the innocence she hides behind her attitude. Fenton finds her refreshing and inspiring and can’t get enough of her. I loved Fenton and Brynne together, their banter was fun and clever, building to their explosive chemistry. The twists and turns to their relationship and the events surrounding them was interesting and emotional. Ms Locke also creates wonderful and fascinating friends and adversaries that make her stories multifaceted. I think Presley, Brynne’s supportive and funny best friend is one of her best. This is a fun, exhilarating and emotional romance that should not be missed!
Another fabulous story from Adriana. I was hooked from the beginning and could not put it down! I fell in love with Fenton right along with Brynne! She was just what he needed, to bring him back in to the world of living from working all time. They are perfect for each other. Presley was a great side character too! I loved what Adriana did with the first chapter and epilogue. I hope you love it as much as I do!
Fantabulous!!
WOW!! I’m not sure exactly what to say!! This book is just that good. It completely left me speechless.
You find books that have great plots, but the writing doesn’t grab you, but you really want to like the book.. This writing and the flow of this book grabbed me from the beginning. It wasn’t cheesy, or unforgettable.. It was one of the best written books I’ve read in a long time. And the storyline was great.
Brynne was such a caring, lovable, and trustworthy person. Immediately being attracted to the god-like individual in Fenton was something you would imagine her doing. He actually was a wonderful person with wayyyy too many secrets, but not the soul breaking secrets that you may think.
Of course things happen that make it difficult to get past, but faith is the one thing you have to have in order to make a relationship work. It was extremely hard to have that with this duo. Even though Fenton isn’t the I love you kind of guy, he learns quickly what that truly means.
I loved the way these two found one another and how they grew together. It was one of the best things about this book. I’m not sure if there is going to be more about this family, but it’s a definite TBR for me. This book is a must for anyone who loves love, intrigue, suspense and the ability to find your happiness.
Actual Rating: 4.5
Adriana Locke is an amazing writer and I really enjoyed this book. She knows how to write complex characters with lots of obstacles to overcome and that is definitely a factor for these two characters in this book. Wherever It Leads is sexy as hell, but also suspenseful, and emotional. I really enjoyed reading this book.
Fenton…another male book boyfriend. Adriana has such a way with her male characters that you can’t help but fall in love with each new one she introduces you to. Wherever It Leads is a fantastic read!!!
Sometimes, you pick up a book that you REALLY want to read, you don’t expect much from it because it is in a genre that is typically overdone. Rich guy meets conflicted girl, his dick wins her over and they live hea.
That’s not what I got from WIL.
Yes, when you pick up WIL, you’re going to pick up a billionaire romance. However, you get so much more. Misogyny is not a theme with WIL.
At first, I felt like Brynne and Presley were going to be magically fixed by dick. I didn’t expect much more of a storyline beyond broken girl, hot guy – he bangs her and everything is right with the world. While I loved their interactions, I felt that they were lacking intelligence and were just — I don’t know — your typical romance heroine/best friend.
As I read beyond the first sex scene (which Adriana perfected, btw. I’m going to expect that from her more often as her writing develops!), I started to see the depth in these characters – in Brynne and Fenton. I immediately recognized that Fenton is more intelligent than I gave him credit for. The 1st chapter had me rolling my eyes about another womaneating, chauvinist pig — but don’t judge a book by its first chapter rings true here. I promise.
I started to realize how these characters were developing. Brynne had a heart of gold, and a brain to go along with it. She was doing what any person should try to do in the situation she was dealt — I get that, and I love that. I also loved that Presley was a hugely supportive friend. She is one that every woman should have in her life.
Wherever It Leads did trigger a lot of emotions from me. The way the book made me FEEL was something I did not anticipate. I felt so consumed. I wanted nothing but to live with these characters, to breathe their love and their pain.
I didn’t expect an emotional reaction from this book. I just expected it to be another romance novel – easy to lose myself in, but no real/true emotional connection.
I was so wrong.
I know that my reviews can get pretty long. If you’ve made it to this point, you owe it to yourself to read this book. WIL is so much more than a billionaire romance. It’s intelligent, thought provoking, and most of all – hot. I would certainly re-read Wherever It Leads, which I cannot say about a lot of books.
