Secrets. Lies. And a second chance at love…Torn from the only man she’d ever loved by a tragic secret, Mara Miller has traveled a long and difficult road. From poverty and the workhouses, she’s finally made a life for herself as the owner of a small haberdashery in London. With her companion, Big B, an African slave she’d helped escape from a Brazilian slaver, she’s made a fresh start. But when … fresh start. This was a great story featuring action, intrigue, and sizzling romance! Given a second chance with the woman he thought was dead, Roarke is at first furious and then smitten all over again as he tries to find out the truth behind Mara’s disappearance. While Mara regrets deceiving Roarke for all these years, the reasons for her leaving are still valid today. Is it fair to cause his family scandal, just so they can be together? With a greedy and bloodthirsty criminal out for revenge, Mara and Roarke may have to work together just to stay alive.
While it may have been too ambitious to have characters traveling throughout the English countryside and to the Continent, the plot was action-packed and eventually all the threads of the story came together in a happy ending. Except, of course, for the teaser ending leading into the next book. I’m looking forward to reading what happens to some of the characters we have come to know so far in the series.
This is a story of two people lost to each other but then reunited again. Not a happy reunion to be sure since one thought the other dead. Mara Miller was a working girl, who had accomplished more in her life than she ever thought by owning a haberdashery in London. Having fled from a horrible time, she tried to put the past behind. But as the past has a way or rearing it’s head, Roake Garrott, Viscount Eversleigh, walks into Mara’s shop one day. Roarke had thought Mara dead and had finally tried to move on with his life. The shock for them both turned their world upside down and thus began their journey. This is a story of heartbreak, lost love, secrets held and a search for the truth before the past comes crashing down. You will be caught up in this story, hoping that the two can find each other again and holding your breath until the end. This is a great second book in the Ways of Love Series can but be read as a standalone. Tabetha Waite will be a name to watch for in the future!
Seamless transition from book one about the Earl, to book two, the Viscount. Could easily be read as a standalone; the right amount of backstory riddled throughout as needed. We find out the mysterious woman who was helping Athena is none other than Mara, who was supposed to be dead. The Viscount’s and Mara’s hearts and bodies wanted to be together once again, but the past and present troubles were forcing their hands to lie and manipulate.
The twists and turns shocked me and I am usually able to figure out mysteries quickly. While there was not as much anger as the first, there was a lot more deceit. Roarke must come to terms with not only himself, but Mara and his family. Two lovers torn apart to find each other several years later with the same spark and sizzling romance.
The secondary characters throughout the story are written just as well and truly make this a well-rounded read. Beautifully written historical romance that sets the stage perfectly for the third in the series. Very thrilled to have received this novel as part of a book tour for the third in the series.

What a great read! My girl Tabetha Waite blew me away with this book. All of the three things that I was looking for from a book, Romance, steamy love scenes and action, Tabetha brought. Where The Viscount Met His Match was a pleasure to read. The romance between Roark and Mara was well written and very steamy might I say.
Tabetha focused the book mostly on the love that grows between the two of them. Not to over shadow that story line. Tabetha also put in not one, but three different mystery plots that left me dying to know what was going to happen next. I have a secret to tell. I was so wrapped up in the book that I read it in 4 hours.
The action scenes were great. I was able follow along to what was happening to who. There were a number of characters that are introduced in the book, but I didn’t lose track of who was who. My fellow readers read this book at your first opportunity.
One of those books you can’t put down. You feel like you know the characters on a first name basis. When you finish the book you want to get the next one.
Torn from the only man she’d ever loved by a tragic secret, Mara Miller’s life hasn’t been easy from poverty and the workhouses, she’s finally made a life for herself as the owner of a small haberdashery in London. A beautifully written story of second chances whilst the road to Roarke & Mara’s HEA isn’t easy as it’s faced with intrigue & someone out for revenge. The book flows effortlessly & drew me in the from first page & held me engrossed until the end & I now want to read the next book in the series. This is the second book in the series, it could easily be read on its own but we did meet Roarke in the first book & Orion & Athena do make appearances in this book, for me this enriches the book. The characters are very well portrayed, I loved Roarke, who truly loved Mara. Mara’s a strong woman who only left to protect Roarke, really admirable. I love a romance that has action & intrigue & this book delivers.
My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read
Where the Viscount Found His Love is book two in The Ways of Love Series by Tabetha Waite. Roarke Garrott, Viscount Eversleigh made his debut in Why the Earl is After the Girl as the Earl of Rockford’s best friend. I’m so glad he has his own story. Waite does a fantastic job pulling the reader immediately in with raw emotion. There is just enough complexity to the story to keep the reader guessing and wanting more. I couldn’t put it down. I enjoyed the first book in this series, but this one was even better.
“When he moved into the light, Mara felt her heart begin to pound in her chest. His gaze was intense enough to sear her, those breathtaking, hazel eyes that haunted her dreams and nightmares alike staring right at her. She was captured by that hypnotic stare, and a desperate longing filled her until she was consumed by it.”I was gifted a copy of this book.
I can’t wait to read more. Bravo Ms Waite!
Good story that kept me interested. Several secrets, and lots of intrigue. Loved the characters.
