The second half of B. Celeste’s Little Birds duet does not disappoint. Continuing in the same fashion, glimpses of the past from Kinley’s POV as well as the present from both Kinley and Corbin. This book will have you cheering, angry, crying, and going through the whole spectrum of emotions. I love Corbin’s dedication to Kinley, even when she tries to shut him out. I loved hating Lena with a passion. There was even a time when Gavin blew my mind and I was cheering him as well. So many times I literally slid away from my kindle and put my hands to my head after reading a scene. Such an amazing book.
Kind of spoilerish!!!
If I questioned my love for Corbin in Where The Little Birds Go, this book cemented that love. Where The little Birds Are is the perfect conclusion to Kinley and Corbin’s story.
With flashbacks sprinkled throughout, readers are given glimpses into Kinley’s life…going from small town farm girl to published author as well as her struggles in accepting that Corbin has moved on while she’s still holding on. But was it really that easy for him to walk away from his Little Bird? Things are not always as they appear.
Their actions in WTLBG do not go unnoticed and the repercussions and results of those actions reach far and wide. But even as Lena and the tabloids rain down on Kinley, Corbin remains at her side. He wasn’t letting anything get between him and Kinley!
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Barbara has blown me away with the books she’s putting out. Her writing speaks to me and her stories always tug on my heartstrings. You can’t help but fall in love with and root for her characters. Thank you for another amazing story!
(On a side note, just going to throw it out there that I disliked Kinley’s mother more than Lena.)
It’s official, I will read ANYTHING B. Celeste writes. The way she tells the story of these characters I feel every emotion. When they cry I break down, when their angry I want to punch someone. I was dying to read Where the Little Birds Are after devouring Where the Little Birds Go and all of my anticipation was worth it.
Corbin and Kinley’s story tugged at my heart from book 1 and I couldn’t wait to find out what happens next. These two grow together and I love reading how they transformed together. This book is real and Kinley and Corbin proved that nothing nor anyone was going to get in their way again. I laughed, cried, mad as hell and swooned till the end. I will definitely be reading this duet again and again.
This book was amazing. I absolutely love the small-town romance story of Kinley and Corbin. What a thrill it was to finally finish it. It was one of those books that you just couldn’t put down and you wanted to savor each and every moment. I’m already wanting to reread the duet. Let’s just say the author knows how to write an amazing story and I can’t wait for more.
Where the Little Birds Are will tug tightly on your heartstrings as B. Celeste takes her readers on an emotional journey with this stunning conclusion in her highly anticipated Little Bird Duet. This author just loves to drive us crazy with her heartbreaking twists and my goodness did this story do a number on my soul. Their epic love story is beyond complicated and my heart was racing in overdrive. There were some moments I found myself struggling to catch my breath because of an intense ache that took control over my entire body.
If you didn’t like Corbin in Where the Little Birds Go then be prepared to wholeheartedly fall in love with him. After that surprising cliffhanger ending, I knew that this part of Corbin and Kinley’s journey was going to depend on the decisions they made and the risks they were both willing to take. Their story was a Hollywood Scandal waiting to happen and I absolutely loved every JUICY second of it. The angst and drama surrounding their romance was EVERYTHING I was craving and I knew that B. Celeste storytelling ability would deliver a beautifully chaotic love story unlike anything I have ever read.
The Little Bird Duet is NOT for everyone, but if you are willing to think outside the box and realize that true love is messy, complicated, and beautiful all at the same time, then this one is for YOU. People make mistakes and hurt the ones they love, but it’s how they grow that defines the kind of person they are. Corbin and Kinley are the perfect definition of this and I couldn’t imagine two people more right for one another.
Where the Little Birds are by B. Celeste is the sequel to the duet and begins right where book one ends. We learn more about Kinley’s rise to be an author and how she acquired an agent. As she returns home the press and gossip are getting to her, as the paparazzi are spinning the story between her and Corbin. She doesn’t know what to believe, as she hasn’t heard from Corbin.
Corbin is trying to protect her, but obstacles are getting in the way; especially his wife, Lena. Lena is sabotaging the agreement she made with Corbin.
The story alternates between past and present, as book one did and we get a clearer picture of Corbin and Kinley’s history.
I enjoyed the story, but I did feel that it was rushed at the end and the epilogue came too quickly. I have read all of Ms. Celeste’s books and have enjoyed all of them and they have left me speechless at the end, with a book hangover for days. I enjoyed this duet as well, but the books did not seem to be as original as her other stories, which I could not put down. I look forward to Ms. Celeste’s next release.
“But I realize now that you must really love someone when you can’t even hate them for breaking your heart.”
My heart. My freaking heart. Barbara is a true deliverer of angst and heartbreak. EVEN THOUGH she fixes my broken heart, I still feel the after effects for days.
Every single one of Barb’s books are relatable in some way. Whether it’s the heartbreak a character felt, or the drive and passion that they work for, or the circumstances that the characters are being dealt.. something always pulls me in and makes me FEEL.
Corbin and Kinley are imperfectly perfect for each other. They have battled for each other, survived heartbreak and pain, and have done unspeakable things. Their lives aren’t perfect but their love will always shine through.
Where the Little Birds Are is book two in the Little Birds Duet. Book one, Where the Little Birds Go, HAS to be read first before diving in to book two. You will only get half the story if you start with this book.
Overall, the book was raw and the characters fought for what they wanted, tooth and nail. The ONLY negative thing I have to say is I felt it was a tad rushed or quick towards the end.
