What happens when the very thing ruining your life ends up saving it?
I was never one to believe in spirits — until six years ago, when a bone-chilling accident changed my life… forever.
My name is Charlotte, but most people call me Char… and I have a special gift.
I talk to the dead.
Make no mistake, I can’t summon them. I’m only able to see and speak to the spirits that linger when … the spirits that linger when they’re unable to crossover. They’re somehow weighted to the world with unfinished affairs. And for the last six years, I’ve relentlessly used my gift to help their lost souls.
But it’s come at a price. My life is dark. Feeling despondent, I’ve begun to give up. And in helping the dead, I’ve realized I haven’t allowed myself to live. With no money, no place to go, and most importantly… no hope, I’ve decided there is only one option — to end it all.
But fate is a funny thing. One minute, I’m about to leap to my death, and the next, I’m saved by Ike McDermott. The strong, striking soldier stopped me from putting an end to my despair. He’s the kind of man that smiles and brightens an entire room.
Sweet and gentle.
He is my savior.
And he’s dead.
We’ve made an agreement. He’ll help me find a place to stay and a new job if I’ll help him with his unfinished business so that he may crossover.
Ike’s unfinished matter involves his twin brother, George. George has been falling apart since Ike’s death and Ike has not been able to compel himself to crossover in peace until he knows George will be okay.
When I agreed to help, little did I know that I’d fall in love with the charming folks of Bath County, and… Ike and George McDermott.
Now, as both brothers own equal parts of my heart, I am faced with a cruel and unfair predicament. In saving George, I must let go of Ike.
But how does one let go of half of their heart?

Beautiful and Riveting
This was a beautiful and riveting story. My friend Jacob recommend this book and I have to say this is one of the BEST Paranormal Romance novels that I have EVER read. Charlotte can speak to the dead, and is trying to help him move on be helping his brother. this book made me cry multiple times, so make sure you have plenty of Kleenex on hand or at least a long sleeve shirt. Please read this book, it’s amazing.
Gut-wrenching, angsty, emotional story. I didn’t know ghosts could be sexy! But seriously, don’t read if you don’t want to cry.
I was just going though my FB feed and chanced upon a FB group that asked for recommendations about Paranormal reads. I got curious so I read each comment, and this book was mention several times. I’ve just finished reading an ARC and I wanted to read something that’s out of my usual cup of tea, so I thought, why not? and why am I just reading this now?? *sigh*
Let me tell you this book hooked me from beginning to end. I couldn’t put it down. I’ve read practically the whole and put being an adult aside for a couple of hours. It was riveting and emotional… I was surprise on how much it tugged on my heartstrings. This was so unexpected… it’s such a memorable read and this was one of the most emotional books I’ve read being so draining. I cried a lot. I lost someone I loved and I kept thinking, I’d give up anything just to talk to my Dad once more… just how Charlotte would. This book is amazing and it’s one of those books that will stay with you for a very long time. I tried to keep it together and not get emotional because it’s only a book, but man, it was so hard to keep the tears at bay. I definitely recommend it! It’s one of those books where you’d want to buy a paperback copy apart from an ebook one. It’s a beautiful, angsty and emotional and swoony read….
I read this book a few times and was thrilled to add it to my Audible library. The narrators didn’t disappoint. Have your Kleenex ready as Char helps Ike find closure with his family, especially his twin brother George. It’s hard to share what a wonderful story this is without spoiling anything.
I really enjoyed this book. I usually stick to traditional contemporary romances, but I was in the mood for something different and it was recommended to me. At its core, this book is a love triangle between Char (Charlotte) – a woman that can speak to ghosts and help them cross-over; Ike – a soldier that was killed during active duty, and his brother, George who had gone into a downward spiral since losing his brother. B.N. Toler creates wonderful characters and the story kept me reading. I’ll admit, at first I had a little trouble connecting with George, but eventually he grew on me. If you like paranormal or just a sweet love story, I think you’ll enjoy this.
this book is so damn good. cried my eyes out and finish it in one whole day. i’m usually a fast reader and i got bile of books to read so i read one book per day th latest will be 2 days, since finishing this book i cant even pick up another i’m so consumed with this beautiful book and im trying to absorb all my feeling for this book so i can move on with my bile of unread books. Plus i totally recommend this book with infinity stars ..
5 Emotional, Weepy, Heart Singing Stars!
I haven’t wanted to review too many books lately. I haven’t found a whole lot to sing my praises from the rooftops about…but I’ve found one! And just by accident!! Oh, how I love fate.
BN Toler is a new to me author and I’m so ecstatic to have found a new favorite, I just know it.
The blurb for Where One Goes stuck out to me because I used to have an obsession with that tv show ‘Ghost Whisperer’. So I knew going in that I would love the backdrop. Little did I realize…these characters would be so fantastically real and find their way into my heart so completely.
All the feels. I wish there was a better way to put it…but there it is. Set in a very small town (that actually exists!) in VA, BN has created a world that gives me the same emotion I always experienced when reading Robyn Carr’s Virgin River series. And the cast of characters that make up this little town…priceless.
I was also shocked to find out that the story continues, because I felt so satisfied by the end of this book. BN has written all the details I needed to wipe away those tears and mend that broken heart.
So excuse me while I get back to Book 2…but take my word, give Where One Goes a chance if you live for heart warming, small town, true love with a side of raw faith and healing souls.
Where One Goes by BN Toler is like no Book I’ve read before. Toler tackles so many issues with such depth that you feel them to your core.
This review is hard for me to write, because I’m torn on some parts of this book. Overall, this is a beautiful storyline. However, I had some major issues with how Toler handled issues and statements related to suicide.
Suicide is a tough subject for many people to talk about, and to face. It needs to be a subject that can be discussed openly, so that those who are contemplating self harm do not feel guilty for seeking help.
This being sad, I was impressed with all the other aspects of this storyline. And the characters were phenomenal.
“Broken doesn’t mean we’re valued any less, it just means we’ve loved someone so much and so fiercely that losing them feels we’ve lost part of themselves.”
4 Stars
Beautiful yet heartbreaking…
My first book by the author and God it surprised the hell outta me! In a good way of course… Where One Goes was the epitome of what a well-written beautiful yet heartbreaking story should be like. “Loved it” can’t even begin to explain my feelings. Needless to say I didn’t want it to end.
What an amazing 5 star story this was. It had everything to make it perfect. It’s a love story with intrigue and supernatural elements. I normally don’t read anything like that but when I started reading it, I just couldn’t seem to be able to put it down for very long. Bottomline is this is a must read.
I am having a hard time gathering my thoughts about this story from BN Toler. I have actually owned this book for over a year and it was sitting on my kindle. I heard that there was going to be another book in the series so I decide to pull this one out and see what all the fuss was about. I can not believe it took me so long to read these words. My heart is still on fire for these characters. The premise is so original and gut wrenching. A love triangle that includes a spirit/ghost. Ike was killed but in the line of duty but his soul is still searching for closure. George, his twin brother, is alive but living only half a life without his brother and best friend. Hannah has also suffered great loss and is now the bearer of an overwhelming and powerful gift, the ability to speak to those who are unable to leave this earth due to unfinished business. What do you do when you love two brothers? This novel is a true treasure that I will hold dear to my heart.

I am so happy this book was recommended to me. I loved it so much. I don’t easily give books 5 stars, because I compare them to my favorites. I can honestly say that this book has stolen a spot in my top reads.
I was hooked from the start. This book had it all! Some parts were heartbreaking. My friend warned me that it would be an emotional read and she was right. I cried a lot!!! Tears were running down my cheeks, especially the last part of the book. The characters were great. I loved Ike so much, he is definitely one of my favorite characters. I also really liked Sniper a lot, I really loved his outgoing/funny/player attitude. I would love for him to get his own story with a certain lady who was also a side character in this book. George lost track of life, and does whatever he can to forget. It was difficult to see him like that. Thankfully Ike was there to guide Char to help George. I loved every moment betweel Ike and Char. It was just so perfect and heartbreaking at the same time.
One thing I didn’t like was the epilogue. It really didn’t add anything to the story and it could’ve been left out.
I could not put this book down! This is the second BN Toler book I’ve read and I’ve loved both. There are parts of this book that are so damn funny, you can’t help but laugh out loud. The author has a way of making her books so relatable and emotional, I cried and laughed and fell in love with the characters.
I wasn’t sure I would like this book, i mean it got a lot of great reviews but the content…. was let’s face it a little out there…. a woman who can see and speak to dead people…
The problem is that you will LOVE this book, I fell head over heels for Ike, I mean he’s like the most perfect man ever! And I thought Charlotte was written perfectly, just the right amount of sass and strength mixed with enough anguish and need to make her relatable.
The story was fantastic, although I kept hoping by some miracle Ike would somehow get the girl in the end. Even so I still loved George and was happy with where the story ended up.
If your on the fence about reading this one, DON’T BE!! READ THIS BOOK!!! It absolutely, hands down one you shouldn’t miss, 5 stars all the way!
was crying days…… after reading this
