Another amazing book by J.A. Owenby. This book has it all, romance, steamy lust, hot chemistry, a little bit of drama and a very happy ending. You can’t ask for me. This book is a definite must read.
Is an emotional roller coaster. Author J.A. Owenby has a way of making you feel like you are the characters in the book. Hadlee a college student determined to graduate early. But then her life is turned upside down. She meets Kaisen who seems to be the perfect boyfriend . She has a strained relationship with her mother. Then there is Syd and Kara, the two best friends a girl could ask for. Hadlee finds a secret about her past, about her father that she buried at age 8, that can change everything. Kaisen may hold more than just Hadlee’s heart……….
This book has plenty of romance, but it also shows real life family dynamics. Hadlee’s family life takes some unexpected turns, and even the other characters have interesting family interactions. Even if your family is “normal” you can relate to the characters. This book makes you think about what people are truly going through even when you can’t see their full history.
Where I’ll Find You is a standalone novel about a young woman called Hadlee. Her life is full, with university studies, a job, living in shared accommodation, and a (very) un-supportive mother. The last thing she wants is a man in her life. However, Kaisen has other ideas, and keeps popping up when Hadlee doesn’t expect it.
Although the characters are mostly good, the one I didn’t get on with was (unfortunately) the main female, Hadlee. She is most definitely high-maintenance, both as a friend and a love interest. I understand life hasn’t been easy for her, but she is definitely a drama-llama. She is supposed to be studying psychology, but her friends know more about it than she does, and she refuses to acknowledge anything that might trigger her, instead blaming others.
This is quite a hard review to write because I am a big fan of J.A. Owenby’s, but this book just failed to hit the mark with me. Don’t get me wrong, I still very much enjoyed it, but it wasn’t a 5-star read like her others have been for me. The premise is a good one, and it is told with style and aplomb. It is intriguing and intricate, leaving plenty of questions in the reader’s mind until the author is ready for them to be answered. There are no editing or grammatical errors that disrupted my reading flow. I have no hesitation in recommending this book, even though Hadlee and I didn’t see eye to eye.

Archaeolibrarian – I Dig Good Books!
Wow! This story left me confused even after I finished the book. The plot was not well-defined. I thought this book was going to be a sweet romance between Hadlee and Kaisen. Instead it turned into a mystery story.
The writing is great but I felt like the characters were not three dimensional. Hadlee was so wishy washy about her feelings regarding Kaisen while he was quickly falling in love with her. The story felt rushed at important moments in the story while other scenes were too long
I really wanted to like this book but I felt so disconnected from the characters and could not get a handle on the direction the story was taking.
I received an ARC of this book for my honest review.
