From New York Times bestselling author, J. Daniels, book one in the Alabama Summer series.
When Mia Corelli returns to Alabama for a summer of fun with her childhood best friend, Tessa, there’s only one thing keeping her on edge. One person that she’d do anything to avoid.
Benjamin Kelly. World’s biggest dickhead.
Mia hates him with a fury and has no desire to ever see him again. When she … no desire to ever see him again. When she decides to start her summer off with a bang and finally give away her v-card, she unknowingly hands it over to the one guy that excelled at making her life miserable, learning a valuable lesson in the process.
Always get the name of the guy you’re going home with.
Ben can’t get the girl he spent one night with out of his head. When she leaves him the next morning, he thinks he’ll never see her again. Until he sees her lounging by the pool with his sister.
Mia is determined to hate Ben, even though she can’t forget him.
Ben is determined to prove he’s not the same guy he used to be.
What happens when the one person you wish never existed becomes the one person you can’t imagine being without?
**Warning: This book is recommended for readers over the age of 18 due to strong language and explicit sexual content.

I often download books that are free expecting them to be just mah… but this book got me hooked from page 1.
Mia’s character has a similar situation with Ben that I’ve had in the past and it made it much more relatable, I just couldn’t take my eyes of the screen.
I was inspired by Ben’s determination and it made me change my mind about single guys with kids.
A good read.
Best friends older brother story. Mia hated Ben through her adolescence as he was mean and affected her self worth. Nine years later she is heading back to see her best friend, Tessa. On the way there she stops at a bar determined to no longer be a virgin and meets a gorgeous stranger.
A night if passion with no names shared. Imagine their surprise when they meet again and realise their identities. Mia still hates Ben, but he’s determined to prove that he is not still the hateful teenager she remembers him as.
It’s a sweet read with plenty of steam.
Love it.
This is one of my all time favorites!! The love story between Ben & Mia is truly swoon-worthy. Throw in the cutest, dragon-loving, little boy ever and it makes for a wonderful read. Love it!!!!
1st part is all sex, no story –didn’t finish
This was the first J Daniels book that I read and once done I gobbled up all of the other books in the Alabama Summer series. Maybe it was because it was first but this was my favorite one
Loved It
Mia is going to Alabama to spend the summer with her friend Tessa. She hates leaving her mom who has been sick, but she wants her to go. Ben is Texas’s bright and made her life he’ll until Mia & her mom moved. Now they will see how they both have changed.
*5 Stars*
So I know I’m really far behind in getting to this series, but J Daniels is a fairly new author to me, having only read a couple of her books in the past.
Where I Belong was fantastic. I could not put it down, and read it in one sitting. I absolutely adored Ben and Mia, and Nolan was a wonderful surprise as well. Those boys, god, they made the whole book so damned cute!
Of course, enemies to lovers is one of my favourite tropes, and with Ben and Mia’s past, and some of the flashbacks/stories she had from when they were younger, I truly wondered how J Daniels would turn them around into a trustworthy relationship. The past really did get brought up and the issues confronted. I’m not sure if I, myself, would have been able to overcome it as fast as Mia, but I guess everyone is different, and also that’s the beauty of a romance novel.
I truly loved getting to see Ben and Mia develop, and I enjoyed the secondary characters as well, and cannot wait to get to their books too.
I was rooting for these guys the whole time and I devoured this swoon-worthy, sexy and funny book. Highly recommend!
This was a sweet book, but I felt like Mia gives in a little fast. I realize that we need to keep the plot moving, but I was a little surprised.
Overrated 2.5 stars
I am sure younger girls would love this read but it wasn’t for me. Writing is ok, a bit dramatic like teens can be. Nothing too deep or outstanding but lots of passion.
Really good book about how people can change along with steamy parts
Oh Ben you dirty talkin’ hot cop you…I think I love you
I loved this book so much. The writing was fab the sexy times were smokin’ and Ben was so damn swoony I can’t even! Oh and Nolan! Cutest little knight ever. I can’t wait for more of this series.
Enjoyed reading this book
Love this series! Highly recommended!
Story was a little thin and needs more substance in order to get I combed with the characters.
With this book, I fell in love.. with J. Daniels. I would read her grocery list and probably give it 5 Stars. This series is awesome!
Loved Ben and Mia’s story, this story is a must read!
This is a 5++ book. I wish it were in PB because I would snatch it up, but either way, it is a re-read, keeper shelf read! Ben & Mia are adorable and hot and funny and all the things that I love about romantic leads. Their story is about redemption & forgiveness, but in sort of a light way. I laughed out loud so many times with this story, and I also had some emotional teary moments.
Mia goes back to her hometown to hang out w/ her best friend, and prays that she won’t run into said best friend’s older brother. The brother who tormented her childhood to the point that it really sort of traumatized her on more than one occasion. When Ben realizes just how much his stupid actions hurt Mia when they were younger, he does EVERYTHING in his power to make up for it. His heart breaks for the way he hurt her, and watching his journey to earn Mia’s trust… Seriously swoon-worthy! : )
There is a lot going on in this story, but it went fast because I COULDN’T PUT IT DOWN! And while it could be classified as a chase book (H or h pursuing, other party resisting) I think the chase portion was handled really smoothly. There was never a point in the story where I felt like things were going to slowly or not progressing. And even through the pursuit, the H/h are together, there’s no extraneous breakup or misunderstanding or whatnot. The drama that occurs is perfectly placed.
I really loved this story! 😀
A book about second chances and redemption. Romantic and steamy.
