AstoriaHe was the man of my dreams, or so I thought. I wasn’t sure how I’d react when I saw him again. I planned on avoiding him, but our small hometown made that impossible. The years apart melted away when I saw him. Time hadn’t changed my feelings, after all. Jealousy flared anew. My heart, which I thought had healed, was back to being in a million pieces. Now I’m right where I don’t want to … right where I don’t want to be—in front of him with tears in my eyes.
Parker
Everything isn’t always as it seems. One moment could cause a ripple effect with unexpected consequences that last for years. Not a day had gone by that I didn’t think of her. When our paths crossed again, I knew I had to tell her the truth. Arguing was inevitable, but I’d rather fight for her than face another day without her. My heart always belonged to her.
Where I am is standing in front of her—asking for another chance.

Audio Review from 2018
This story starts off quite slow. It picks up a little bit by he middle of the story but for me it doesn’t really capture my interest fully utilized the last two hours of the audio.
There are some things that don’t flow right and by this point I can’t really tell you what they are.
This book is a so/so for me and I personally wouldn’t repeat it.
The narrators were great though. They made the story come to life quite nicely and were really the only reasons I pushed through to the end.
I loved that we are getting a story for Parker! He was very instrumental in the last book. So of course I grew to love him. Unbeknownst to me he has his own tragic past which caused him to lose his lady love. We get to see another side of Parker in here as he battles his and B’s demons. I also enjoyed how involved Cy and Eve are in this book. I love seeing them on their continued journey. Then there is Finn who I really had to feel for in this one. We met him in the last book and it’s funny how the author pulled him into this one too.
I did listen to this on audio. Tor Thom and Charley Ongel do amazing as always.
Just like the first book in this series, this book is an entertaining, believable read with relatable characters and a great storyline.
One wrong impression breaks up the romance between Parker and Astoria/ Tori. When Tori returns home from college her feelings for Parker reignite. Fate brings them back together. This is a gripping story, very intense, filled witb mystery, danger, regret that surround them. A rollercoaster of emotions throughout this story.Charley Ongel and Tor Thom brought all the emotions to this story.

Astoria (Tora) thought she & Parker had the perfect relationship. When she surprises Parker at his home & catches him about to step in the shower with his naked best female friend Blair, she is devastated & runs. Four years later Tora has graduated college & is back in Arrow Falls, living with her parents until she finds a job. The first night she is back she sees Parker & Blair on the street, & all the hurt & pain comes rushing back.
Parker can’t forget the day he let Tora slip through his fingers. When she left he tried texting & calling to explain but never heard from her or saw her again. Until he sees her driving by while he is out with Blair.
When they finally talk about what happened that day, Tora realizes it was a huge misunderstanding. But too much time has gone by & they are now both different people. And Tora still had to deal with her heartbreak. Will they be able to forgive & let the past stay in the past?
I’m glad we got Parker’s story, but I felt like this book focused a lot on Blair. She was an important person in Parker’s life & had a horrible past, but everything, including their reconciliation, revolved around Blair. I love seeing more of Cy & Eve, and poor Finn once again got cast aside. Overall a good book, and maybe there will be a future book with Finn getting his happy ending.
While this was good, it didn’t grab me the way the first book did. Not that’s it a bad story, but there were some parts I had trouble reconciling; Tora and Parker are supposed to be very early 20s, yet their behavior and manner of speech indicated they were a bit older than perceived. Not bad, but it didn’t lend that air of believability. The whole situation with Blair was kind of glossed over; I know she wasn’t the main character, but something of that magnitude should have been given more depth.
Audiobook version:
This book was an amazing journey through some very emotional times. Michelle has given us some amazing character that you connect with immediately. You feel their love and their pain through her amazing story telling. She provided us this heart shattering story and Tor and Charley brought it to life. Their narration truly adds something special to this touching love story. Great Listen!
Michelle Dare is a master at pulling the reader into the story from the first page. In Where I Am she rips out the heart of the heroine, as well as the hero, in the first chapter and then masterfully pieces their shattered lives back together again.
Essentially this story is one of undying love, miscommunication, and the meaning of true friendship. Parker may not be the perfect boyfriend but he proves himself, on more than one occasion, to be the truest of friends. He showed that side in Cy and Evie’s story, Where I End, and again in his own book. Astoria (Tora to Parker) fell head over heels for Parker and he for her. A cruel twist of fate and a misread situation tears the couple apart before she leaves for college. Forward four years later and Tora has returned to her hometown, hoping not to run into Parker, but deep down longing to see him.
Secrets are revealed, and hearts are slowly pieced back together, only to be put in the ultimate danger. A situation so dangerous that all of the major players face possibly lethal consequences.
Ms. Dare pulls out all the emotions in this story. I absolutely loved Tora and Parkers story.
Not what I expected. As in the first Blair was what got me off in this story. She is not my kind of woman. There are some nice scenes and most of the characters are likeable. But it did not catch me as I had hoped from reading the blurb.
An amazing second chance story that is full of hope, abuse, pain, laughs, suspense, secrets, family drama, grief and heartbreak. I was on the edge of my seat till the last page was turned. Parker and Astoria having a bad splitting are reunited years later when she comes back to town and the connection burns just as hot and steamy but also goes beyond to an emotional bond. In really enjoyed the rollercoaster of emotions in this incredible story.

Parker and Astoria were a couple in the past. After a terrible misunderstanding, Astoria leaves for four years of college. They meet again and the old flames are still there. Will the couple be able to get things right this time? A good second chance romance.

Poor Parker. I felt bad for him that Astoria wouldn’t let him explain. I understand the initial response but at least give the guy a chance to explain things but maybe she needed the 4 years to grow up. I do feel bad for Finn. He’s seems to be an upstanding guy but not too lucky with love. He needs his own book.
Every bit as good as the first book! Suspenseful, romantic, edge of your seat read! I could not put it down. Can be read standalone but better if you read the first book.

The story was well written, the plot flowed effortlessly throughout the entire book and the characters were well developed! I was so engaged with this story that it felt like Parker & Astoria jumped from each page and pulled me right into their story as it unfolded!
This was so heartbreaking and wonderful at the same time. Tora and Parker have the love the everyone dreams of and almost lost it because of a misunderstanding. The characters are so wonderful and the pain they all experience is something most people would not understand. In the end they all ended up in a better place than they started.

Astoria and Parker’s story is very beutiful. They are the couple that hit it right of.
I loved how the book had that tension and it gripped me so I was reading late into the night. I couldn’t put it down.
Parker is very brave and strong charachter. I loved how he didn’t let his friends down and stood by them. He didn’t want to move away even for Astoria and that is saying something. I loved that he loved romace HEA books.
Astoria was judging by apearances and got herself burned.
My heart was breaking for Blaire. I can’t even imagine what she went through, but it wasn’t easy. I hope we get to have a book about her. I can imagine who her other half will be.
