From the author of the Kellington and Emerson sagas of Regency Romance novels, comes the first book in a new series set in the early Victorian era.Arabella Warren has been trying to find employment as a governess for several months. But after having to leave numerous households for unsavory reasons, she has found it next to impossible to attain a position in a decent home. Then she sees an … sees an advertisement in the newspaper for a widower seeking a wife to help care for his two children. She sets out to convince the man that he needs a governess, not a wife, and that she would be the perfect lady for the job.
Jonathan Graves still grieves the loss of his wife, even as he tries to create a happy home for his five-year-old twins. Knowing he will never love again, he believes the best solution is to enter into a marriage of convenience. His children will have a stepmother and he can go on loving the woman who passed away. But he is not prepared to meet the lady who will change all their lives forever.
WHERE HEARTS MEET is a love story about loss, love and starting over. It contains explicit language and graphic sex scenes. It also gives hope to anyone who wonders if it’s possible to love again.

A story of loss and new love found. The first in a series of Jasmine Cottage stories. It is a well written story with enough action to keep you interested. Looking forward to reading the whole series in the future.
This is a sweet romance whereby Arabella is the perfect governess with wonderful instincts—just the right person to sneak inside Jonathan’s grieving heart to open up his heart to love again. I liked the feeling of sisterhood brought on by Emma and Grace, who took her in when Arabella was in need. I also foresaw the development of those two characters and their future love interests and was pleased to see that their stories continue in books two and five. I will definitely read those!
great winter escape reading!
As always Maureen Driscoll never disappoints. i have read all of the Jasmine Cottage books and they are WONDERFUL. Every character is special and unique. Every book blends with the other. Don’t miss out on these books!
Loved this book. Read it too fast.
I’ve read a few books by Maureen Driscoll and this has been my favorite so far. This was an easy read–one of those wholesome stories that just leaves you feeling good. I loved the characters and thought they had great chemistry. I’ll definitely be reading more by this author.

They like Arabella immediately, and Jonathan fights his attraction to her. This is a sweet story.
It was gross and disgusting..I didn’t finish it
Enjoyed this book and looking forward to reading the rest of the series.
Wonderful and entertaining
I always like your books, but what’s better to read on a day sick at home than about a sad widower, a smart and sassy governess and a wicked woman of the ton? Story doesn’t drag on about his first wife and our governess is wonderful! I would have greatly enjoyed time with those kids too!
Nice holiday read
Great book
Good easy to read. Historical romance.
Can’t put down the book
Really enjoyed this book!!!
A second chance at love….if he can just get his act together.
The lot of a governess, even a very good one, is not an easy one. A fact to which Miss Arabella Warren can give firsthand testimony. However, at the moment, all Arabella wants is a new position. If not for her dear friends, she would be homeless. Little does she know that her dreams are about to come true in a most unexpected way.
The lot of a widower with twins under the age of six is not an easy one. For the last three years Mr. Jonathan Graves has grieved the death of his beloved wife. Thankfully his children are his world, but at the moment he desperately needs either a wife of convenience or a very good governess. Little does he know that his dreams are about to come true in a most unexpected way.
Based on the book synopsis, and in spite of a few negative reviews on another site and the unappealing cover, I downloaded Where Hearts Meet. In the past I had read and enjoyed a few of Maureen Driscoll’s books, so why not try the first book in this series. I’m glad I followed my instincts because I actually enjoyed this sweet and tender love story. For starters, I liked the leading lady and her unique friends from the start, and the twins were both precocious hand-fulls. However the leading man was a bit slow on the uptake. He was definitely in need of both counseling and a firm kick in the rump. As mentioned by other reviewers, there were a few scenes that made me cringe, but still overall this book was an easy read with a smile worthy ending and epilogue.
Content alert: Although appropriately placed, this book contains a scene with vulgarities. It also contains behind closed door sexual intimacy, both imagined and on-screen.
It’s no secret that I’m a huge fan of this author and her writing voice. In every story she’s written so far, she has managed to make me laugh and cry and in this one she’s accomplished both.
Jonathan and Arabella were both strong characters. Jonathan at first fought and didn’t know what to do with his feelings for Arabella, because his feelings for his dead wife were still strong, but little by little, he started to make a place in his life and his heart for this wonderful woman that brought smiles to his children. And soon enough, he and his children just couldn’t see themselves living without her.
I liked the way the author handled this romance by showing us the slow and steady growing of affection, that then blossomed into love between the two. Jonathan’s love for his deceased wife was very touching that it brought tears to my eyes.
There are so many things I liked in this story, but what I loved a lot were the children and their antics, and I found the antagonist to our heroine to be so mean and I couldn’t wait to see how she’d be put in her place.
If you’re in a mood for a sweet and sensual love story with some humor in it, I hope you give this story a try.

A great second love story. Very nice, sweet, and romantic. Really enjoyed the book from page one. Characters are wonderful. Very unique storyline for a Historical Romance. And a great ending.
I enjoyed this book. This is the first book I’ve read of hers and I will be reading more.
