I loved a boy.Gavin Lodge. He was sweet, gentle, kind and he made me feel alive. Letting him go was the hardest thing I ever had to do in my life. A hundred times I wished I had done things differently.A thousand times I wished I had gone with him. A million times I wished he had chosen me.I didn’t. Neither did he. Now he’s back. No longer a boy, but a man. I can’t love him. It almost destroyed …
No longer a boy, but a man.
I can’t love him.
It almost destroyed me once and I won’t let that happen again.
That should be the end of it.
And maybe it would have been…
If someone wasn’t trying to kill me.

WOW!!! Now there were some twists and turns I didn’t see coming!!!
Some thirteen years after Gavin gives up the love of his life, he’s sent back to where it all happened. And while he doesn’t want to go, he knows he really doesn’t have a choice. But once he gets there, things really start to get interesting.
This book was so worth the wait! There were so many feels in this book. Tears, anger, fear… just so much. Gavin has never stopped loving Luna, but Luna is trying to move on with her life. At least, she is until a few things she thought she knew are shown to be much different. But, now I’m starting to give too much away. So, I just want to say, WELL DONE, Jordan Marie!!! What a fantastic conclusion to Gavin and Luna’s story!!!
If you want a light weight easy read this is not for you.
If you want a total feel good romance this is not for you.
If you want a simple uncomplicated story this is not for you.
But if you want a complicated who done it, an I didn’t see it coming, Holy cheeseballs batman that blew me away, rab kind of story than this is just what you ordered.
Find a quiet corner and devour this fantastic drama. The author created a web of suspicions. Whenever I thought I figured it out I flipped to the next page and hit a brick wall. I was wrong. Things changed. Things go more complicated. I was hooked. Each page was a new drug taking me higher in the world of suspense, secrets, and who done it.
Life is a small town is never easy. With a serial killer on the loose it is even harder. When the F.B.I. agent in charge is returning to the small town after 13 years complicated doesn’t cover it. Gavin Lodge is trying to solve the murders as his life is crumbling. As Gavin dugs deeper he finds more to question. When secrets were revealed he wants to explode. But he can’t. He has loved ones protect. He has people that need to believe in him so he can believe in himself.
Firstly, this book is not standalone. To understand & enjoy this book, you must have read Letting You Know as this is the conclusion to that book. Reviewing this book by itself, this provides wonderful characters in a storyline where I really didn’t know who you could trust or what twist was still to come. In reviewing the 2 books together, they provided a wonderful read that really pulled me in with the emotions. I’m still not really sure whether I liked dividing the story into a book each for past & present, but I will concede that it works for this story. A very satisfying read, & I would happily read any more in this series.
The ending to this duet has me in my feelings. It’s an emotional roller coaster complete with twist and turns. The only criticism I have is i wished it was longer. Jordan Marie always packs a punch with her writing style. She knows how to break your heart and soul, and piece it together again. This book is sexy, hot, sensually seductive yet emotionally satisfying. Gavin and Luna will have you rooting for them. It’s told in different points of view, no cheating, no cliffhangers, and a hea. I highly recommend this book.
Jordan Marie sure does know how to rip my heart out and slowly piece it back together.
I don’t think I have cried so much ever reading a book. I’m still emotionally scarred.
Gavin’s life hadn’t always been way then date brought him Luna. If you read book one, another gut wrenching book, then you know how they lost each other. I cried in that one to. In this one you see what happened and how it played out but wasn’t what either thought. Que the over flowing tears. I wanted to put my Kindle down and just not read because how could Jordan do that to me. So many lies separate them that this story takes you through so many twist just to find the truth. I almost questioned if they would ever ever become at least friends. (You have to read it to understand and know if they did).
I will say that I love Jordan and all her books but this series should be a lifetime movie. I know who I want to play young Gavin and Luna and older Gavin and Luna.
What can I say about Gavin and Luna? Well first off we me the illusive Mr. Lodge in another book which I won’t mention, let’s face it that’ll be me spoiling it for anyone who’d want to read the book. When I met Gavin I just knew he needed his own story, he had a sadness cloaked around him that’ll make you cry. Lo and behold he got his own story in *Letting You Go*, and it was EVERYTHING, it broke my heart to see them torn apart that way, but it has to be done for them to grow and be independent. Now I’m rambling sorry about that, anyway where was i? Oh yeah, now we’re in *When You Were Mine* and Mr. Lodge has to come back to his hometown and guess what? He decided he wants her back,I was like “you Can’t Do That You left her!” But…….I’m a sucker for love and I was already rooting for them. Y’all let me tell you, I was crying like a baby, the things you will find out in this book will have you mad and ready to avenged Gavin and Luna’s love. Luna on the other hand had me from the start, she made certain sacrifices for the man she loves even though it broke her to pieces but she did what she had to do. I believe deep down she knew he would come back to her. Their story will cripple you emotionally, it’s heartbreaking, but they overcome and stand strong for their love. Jordan Marie I don’t know what to say about you lady but you’re GOOD! YOU’RE REALLY GOOD! You got me crying a lot in their story and you’ve spun a story I couldn’t put down, well done Jordan Marie you’ve got a fan for Life! This book is emotional, gritty, have lots plots that’ll have you wondering what’s going to happen next, and THAT everyone is what Jordan Marie gave us, it’s so worth the wait! Thank You!

When You Were Mine is book 2 in the Stone Lake series and the conclusion to Gavin and Luna’s story, and what and epic finale it was!! Completely floored, the book was oh so good, I couldn’t put it down, was hooked until the end.
Jordan Marie I applaud you. The author did not disappoint with this thrilling conclusion. I was so invested in how Gavin and Luna’s future would work out, especially with the way book one finished and left me totally stunned.
13 years later. We pick up with Gavin and Luna after 13 years apart. How their lives have changed. So many people tried so hard to keep them apart and it worked. There was no contact for 13 very long, lonely years. A killer is on the loose and has made his way to Stone Lake. Gavin Lodge, FBI Agent, is on the killers trail and it leads him back to the one placed he vowed never to return, not matter who or what he left behind.
Luna Marshall has spent the last 13 years trying to give herself a better life. In the aftermath of Gavin leaving, and the influence of her father that she never seemed to shake, Luna has managed to give herself a very good and fulfilled life. There is only one thing missing and she refuses to look deeper into why that is the case.
Thrust back into each other’s lives under these harrowing circumstances, Gavin and Luna must navigate the midfield that their previous relationship has created. Luna is not ready to confront Gavin, and Gavin is only to ready to push. However when Luna drops a truth bomb in Gavin’s lap it shakes his very existence to the core and has him questioning everything and everyone from the past 13 years.
Their’s is a love story to aspire to. For the embers of their love to still be burning after everything that they have been through and have put each other through over the years is awe-inspiring and just warms your heart.
This is a love story, wrapped in a mystery, wrapped in a thriller. The plot twists that this story takes will keep your head spinning and completely engrossed in the story. You won’t want to miss a word from this book. A fantastic conclusion to a highly anticipated duet. A great summer read!
Gavin Lodge left Stone Lake almost 13 years ago and since then has become an FBI agent but has never forgotten about his first love, Luna Marshall. Now it looks like a serial killer he has been tracking has come to Stone Lake and Gavin must finally return.
Luna Marshall is a single mom to Joshua and is the Mayor of Stone Lake. She has finally put the past behind her and has begun dating Sheriff Ben Kingston and hopes he can help her forget the ghosts of her past.
When Gavin and Luna see each other they realize the past has not been completely resolved and that secrets were kept and now must be dealt with. Can Luna and Gavin overcome the past or is she ready to move on with Ben? Can Gavin stop the serial killer before he kills everyone close to him?
I was really looking forward to this book after the way the first one ended. This book did not disappoint at all and I can’t wait for the next one in the series!!
I loved Gavin through this book and I was cheering for him so much as I felt like he had been tricked and taken advantage of way too many times. From the things that Luna’s dad and his brother Atticus did in the first book that seemed to carry on into the second book even though they were both dead. He was shocked by all of the news that was given to him and he had no idea how he could have been manipulated like that.
Luna made me so frustrated at times during this book as I was completely Team Gavin!! I understood why she was guarded but I couldn’t understand how she could think that Gavin would never want anything to do with Josh. Then there was Luna’s relationship with Ben and I felt like Luna was trying so much harder just to prove a point to herself that she was done with Gavin and over him.
I was so happy when Luna finally really listened to the truth behind everything and who all played a part in manipulating both herself and Gavin. I was crossing my fingers that Josh would also understand that this was not Gavin’s fault and he was betrayed by those he trusted most.
At 13 % I made a couple of guesses on who I thought the serial killer was and I was shocked that I was right!!! That being said I kind of doubted my guess as it seemed far-fetched but I did a big celebration dance when I discovered I was right. Yet there were so many victims and there were still a few surprises that happened through this!
Towards the end of the book I was happy that both Gavin and Luna were able to figure out the past and decide to focus on the present and it made me so happy!!!
The very end was awesome and I loved that the next book will be on Juniper and Ben!
The continuation of The Stone Lake Series was so worth the wait. Jordan Marie expands her writing skills in this beautifully written romance novel. I am ecstatic about the all grown up,sexy alpha male, now FBI agent Gavin Lodge. He latest assignment takes him back to his hometown of Stone Lake track down a serial killer. He also knows he not only has his own demons of the past with his dad but also face the angel and his first true love, the beautiful Luna Marshall. Luna is now the mayor of Stone Lakes and she’s trying everything in her power to avoid Gavin. She has a good guy she’s currently dating, Ben, who is the town sheriff. But besides having her heart fluttering and the sexual attraction she still has for Gavin, there is the son he never knew about. In the mist of try to solve the case, lies are are revealed and hearts are healing in the process! A definite must read book! You will love it!!!
In the end of the first book my heart was shattered for Luna and Gavin. I couldn’t wait for book two. Jordan definitely took me on a rollercoaster of emotions with this book. It has it all and gives you all the feels. Love Gavin and Luna. I definitely recommend When You Were Mine and can’t wait for the the book.
I received a advanced readers copy and I’m leaving a honest review.
When You were Mine is a book that I couldn’t put down. Gavin returns to Stone Lake to apprehend a serial killer. But he has to work with the town mayor who is Luna, the woman he fell in love and left 13 years ago. Jordan Marie’s writing brings me to the height of my emotions through Gavin and Luna’s journey back to each other. There are so many twists and turns and the ending I never saw coming. Ms Marie knows how to write true romance.
