Lisa Gardner books are always a good read… she keeps you attention with twists and turns as well as a good story line. Another thing, I don’t find lots of errors in her books like I do with many others!
I am a huge fan of Miss Gardner‘s. This latest novel was OK. We got to visit and catch up with three of her creations. However, the usual ease seemed missing. Maybe I wanted to spend more time with each of the characters and with all three women having to share this story you couldn’t get that. Even with wanting more, I still love every moment of the story, but felt that it wasn’t as rich as her previous stories. That being said, if you enjoy her books you will love this one. It was definitely a great read to curl up and read on a cold night.
I have always like Lisa Gardner’s book but I think this is the best one yet! I liked the weaving of the storyline and how she tied it together. Looking forward to the next one
As an avid reader of the D. D. Warren series, I eagerly awaited this most recent iteration. And wow — it was a great read. This one combines several of her characters: DD Warren, the courageous victim turned vigilante Flora Dane (and her computer nerd boyfriend Keith Edgar) along with Special Agent Kimberly Quincy. The team follows on the heels of Flora’s former (now deceased) kidnapper Jacob Ness to a small town in Georgia. Bodies begin to pile up as the team struggles to make sense of what they are finding. How is Ness related to these homicides? Gardner introduces another new character, a mute teen that they name Bonita, who courageously helps them solve the crimes. Without getting in to material that involves too many spoilers, rest assured that Gardner fans will love this book. How she is going to top it is beyond me.
It just wasn’t as good as I expected. I was a little disappointed. This is the first book I’ve ever read from. Lisa Gardner that I did not 100% Enjoy.
Wow, what a ride! Well done! Could not stop reading and it had me on the edge of my recliner. Really recommend.
First, i am a BIG fan of Lisa Gardner, read all of her books. 2nd, this book is alittle more sinister then some. Love the twisted in and out plot with the characters lives.,
I love everything she writes!
Enjoyed all the twists and turns, very interesting.
What an amazing book!!!!
Lisa Gardner totally captivated me from the beginning to the conclusion.
When a small town begins to reveal its dark secrets, Detective DD Warren, Flora Dane, and FBI Special Agent Kimberly Quincy are called in to help.
What materializes is beyond even their wildest imaginations.
While they investigate a crime from the past, new victims are being murdered, will one of them be the next victim in this horrific mystery?
When You See Me has catapulted to the top as my favorite book. I’ve read every book this talented author has written and I must say, she pulled out all her tricks on this one.
Bonita will steal your heart, just as she did DD’s.
Phenomenal thriller you can’t put down.
Loved the book but i do like all of Lisa’s books. think i have read just all of them and always find them entertaining and an easy read. don’t want to put them down till finished.
Eerie, Chilling, Deliciously Creepy.
Lisa Gardner is the Queen of Suspense!! My heart was pounding, I was on the edge of my seat, tightly gripping my kindle, as I flew through these pages. I devoured this book! I had to read it all in one sitting. I could not stop.
I was completely immersed, completely captivated, and completely ADDICTED!!
These characters flew off the pages and became real. I felt like I was truly in the hunt. Amazing read!
Lisa Gardner nails it every time!
Sergeant Detective DD Warren …. Flora Dane …. FBI Special Agent Kimberly Quincy …. three of the most well-known characters of this author’s series …. unite when a body is found 15 years after the victim disappeared outside a very small in Georgia.
There is a feeling this was a crime committed by the same man who stalked and abducted Flora Dane and held her captive for over a year. The three women are part of a task force to follow wherever they must to see if this crime was also committed by the now deceased serial killer Jacob Ness.
When they find multiple graves with the bodies of three more women, they are afraid that the past and the present may be connected by more than one killer.
What are the residents hiding? Why does everyone seem to lie … or conveniently don’t remember? What is the town hiding?
Quincy and DD must summon their considerable skills and experience to crack the most disturbing case of their careers—and Flora must face her own past directly in the hope of saving others.
This is another extremely well written killer thriller featuring stand out characters that are truly unforgettable. The mystery is nicely paced, especially with Dane remembering her time in captivity and what she still needs to discover today. The ending is satisfying and unpredictable.
Many thanks to the author / Penguin Group – Dutton / Netgalley for the digital copy of this crime fiction. Read and reviewed voluntarily, opinions expressed here are unbiased and entirely my own.
I received an ARC from the publisher asking if I would please review Lisa Gardner’s new book. This is my voluntary, honest review. All I can say is if you love suspense, thrills, & nail biting situations you need to read this book! I have to say I think this is one of the best D.D. Warren/Flora Dane books to date. This book grabs you from the first page and will not let go so do not pick it up until you can sit down and read the entire book! Enjoy!
In this 11th installment of the DD Warren series Lisa Gardner brings together again Flora Dane , Kimberly Quincy and DD Warren to head a task force in a small town in Georgia where a skeletal body has been found by hikers.Jacob Ness had to have perfected his skills somewhere and they think it might have been here. This book grabs you from the first page and didn’t let go until the end. This small town has a super creepy vibe to it. You can feel there is something evil lurking around every corner. Lisa Gardner doesn’t know how to write a bad book. She definitely isn’t afraid of taboo subjects. There are always lots of twists and you’ll never guess who the villain is. Another 5 star edition from the queen of suspense.
When You See Me by Lisa Gardner is one of the BEST in the DD Warren series! Oh My Goodness! It is not only a non-stop suspense, but the cast of D.D., Kimberly, and Flora is like a wonderful reunion! I could not stop reading once I started. My heart broke for little ‘chiquita’ as she watched the horror of her mamita’s murder.
The body count rises as DD, Kimberly, Flora, and Keith work furiously to find answers to the dark and sinister secrets which are uncovered in the Appalachia area of Dahlonega. The team soon discovers they can not trust friendly or seemingly helpful locals. The evil is layered within not only the Appalachian Trail terrain but within the walls of the Mountain Laurel B&B.
I hope we read more about Bonita in future books!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read and review When You See Me.
Another poignant addition to the Detective D.D. Warren series. This is the eleventh book in the crime series and Lisa Gardner continues to bring fresh material and formidable nuances to the story line. The character arc of the cast, especially that of Flora Dane, is creatively portrayed with a wide range of elemental and individual growth. Gardner’s ability to consistently provide these dark, fast-paced psychological narratives is uncanny and a homage to her literary skill. Great read. 5 stars.
Thank you to #NetGalley for this ARC of #WhenYouSeeMe, which was read and reviewed voluntarily by Tarrah Marie (@wayward_readers). All thoughts and opinions are my own.
