Charming, poignant, and sexy, When You Got a Good Thing pulled me in with its sweet charm and deft storytelling, and didn’t let go until the very last page. It has everything I love in a small-town romance! ~USA Today Best-Selling Author Tawna FenskeA moment. A mistake. That’s all it took for Kennedy Reynolds to lose her first love and her family. A second chance for meant to be lovers makes for a great read!
I read Kait Nolan’s Misfit Inn series all out of order – not something I prefer to do. But it was still an amazing series, and this is the start of the whole thing. This family of caring, fun, but scarred individuals with baggage and history in a small town … just wonderful and so engaging. Everyone deserves a second chance at love; and savvy, resourceful Kennedy and committed, dependable Xander are no exception. Their chemistry was amazing and their reactions were heartfelt, when it was good and when it was painful. Well written for sure.
Great read, looking forward to reading the balance of the series !
Great book!!!!! Couldn’t stop reading. I cried a lot. It felt so real. Loved it Thanks!!
I loved this book!!! Great start to this series and can’t wait to read the next book. The real reason Kennedy left was well just a shock to me and not it’s not the typical reason. Love second chance romance if there was no cheating involved and this one didn’t disappoint. Not only is this a romance but a story about family, misunderstandings, overcoming conflict, forgiveness and so much more. I love this author’s writings and can say this is now one of my favorite books of hers (and I have read a lot of her books). I received an ARC copy and this is my honest review.
Another heartfelt page turner from Kati Nolan! I’m never disappointed when it comes to her writing and this book is proof of that! Loved Kennedy and Xander’s story!
This is the fabulous first book in this new small town series. Meet Kennedy and her sisters and discover the magic of Misfit Inn. Kennedy left home with a huge secret and felt she could never return home to Eden’s ridge. Her mother’s death changed that. Xander has waited ten years and has never forgotten his first love. Can this be their second chance or will the secret keep them apart forever. Once again Kait Nolan has created a wonderful small town series with incredible, complex and diverse characters. Each one has a story that I cannot wait to discover as this series progresses. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and definitely recommend it to all romance fans everywhere.
I received an ARC from the author. I felt it took a bit to get into this story. There were a lot of characters/names thrown at you at once and I had trouble keeping them straight. But hang in there! Once I got into the story, I didn’t want to put it down. The story line follows Kennedy back home to America after being out of the country wandering the world. Her mom has tragically passed away and she comes together with her sisters to deal with this unexpected event. There’s an underlying mystery that was hidden in the storyline that I couldn’t wait to discover. I was sad to see this book end because there are so many storylines that go unresolved. Overall, a GREAT book once you get the characters sorted out at the beginning.
Sometimes it is difficult to return home, but so very worth it!
I love Kait Nolan books.
Well, Kail Nolan has done it again with this new series set in Eden’s Ridge, Tennessee!
In the first book we are introduced to the adopted daughters of Joan Reynolds after she suddenly dies in a car accident.
Kennedy Reynolds left her home, her family, and the love of her life right after high school graduation and this is her first return.
Kennedy has grown and matured as she traveled the world, but coming home is more of a challenge than Kennedy realized. Get ready for a ride as she deals with the anger of her sisters, wades through the quagmire of her mothers finances, figures out how to keep the youngest of Joan’s girls from going back into the system, and deals with the fact that she never stopped loving Xander Kincaid.
You will fall in love with the Ridge and the people as you watch Deputy Xander Kincaid uncover the real reason Kennedy left him all those years ago. Watch them prove that a real love survives everything.
I received an ARC of this book, but my review is my own honest opinion, freely given.
ARC for honest review with no compensation and what a way to start a new series, Kait Nolan! ! !
When You Got a Good Thing is about two young friends/lovers who end up star crossed at age 18 and now 10 years later meet up again at a funeral…
Kennedy Reynolds has been on the “run” for the last 10 years, thru no fault of her own but the rest of her family do not know the “real reason” she left all those years ago. She has traveled all over the world and is living in Ireland doing a blog of her travels. She has always felt she was missing something but could never put her finger on what it was…..until she receives word that her “adopted” mother has passed away and she needs to return home to help her other “adopted sisters” but can she stay in the town permanently, move forward from what happened in the past and make things right with Xander??? (Mom was a foster parent who adopted four girls and was in the process of adopting another girl when she passed).
Xander, who never left the town other than to go to college and return back to town to work in law enforcement is still angry at Kennedy after all these years but now that she has come back for the funeral he is determined to get his answers so he can move on with his life once and for all. When he sees her again the old feelings return but he tries to push them away…..
As Xander and Kennedy try to work through the past and move on she also has to figure out how to make up with her sisters who still think she is a screw up with no formal education and meet the new sister who is having problems coming to grips with the death of her “foster mom” and worrying about what will happen to her now that she was never formally adopted…..
So many sub plots in this story but they flow together to make you understand the working of the foster home known to them as the Misfit Inn that they grew up in, how each sister became who she is as an adult. how they will do anything to make a life for the young sister who was never fully adopted and for Kennedy to finally find out the “real truth” behind what happened 10 years ago and whether she and Xander can put the past behind and have a life together????
Once you start the book it grabs you in and you may need some tissues, but you will not be able to put it down until the very last word…..it is that good! ! !
I give this book a five star. Loved the story of the Misfit Inn .Such a heartwarming story. When You Got A Good Thing was a great story that I would highly recommend. I was given this book for an honest review. I’m looking forward to reading more by this author. I was given a ARC of this book .This about the Reynolds family.
This is a great story with characters that seem so real you think you know them. And while there’s a captivating romance, there’s also threads of strength of character and endurance and forgiveness that are woven into the story as well. Well done!
Great book
There is a lot of depth in this story, there is also a lot of emotion (I needed tissues). Kennedy and Xander have history and Kennedy knew coming home was always going to be painful. The Reynolds sister are great and I look forward to more of this series.
How deep can a love be? For Kennedy and Xander it never left their thoughts. Kait Nolan has written a heart wrenching love story in which Kennedy has abruptly left home and never said a word to Xander in ten years. When she returns for her mother’s funeral, she decides that she must finally come clean with her sisters and the man she can’t forget. I just wish this one was a bit longer.
I received an ARC of this book from Kait Nolan and have chosen to review it. What a great way to start a series the characters just drew me in and didn’t want to let me go. This book was just so easy to read. I finished it within a day and I can’t wait for the next one. I fell absolutely in love with the Reynolds sister and it was great to see one of them find their happily ever after. I can’t wait for the next book in the series to fall even more in love with this family. This book was just a truly wonderful and beautiful story.
I knew I had to find out what and where The Misfit Inn started from once I read about it in in on author Kait Nolan’s newer books. Oh my what a wonderful detailed and touching story that had me in tears. I am quickly learning that this author writes from her heart and make sure you have tissue with you when you read her books. We begin the series and find out where Kennedy has been and we get to know all the sisters who came together to deal with the death in the family. Definitely a a one click author to add to my list for now and the future.
I liked this book and will try to read more by this author.
Cute
After being separated 10 yrs from her fir love, Kennedy is reunited with Xander. After some anger and forgiveness things are as hot as they were before with the two of them.
