The only way to get what she wants is to let go of everything she thinks she knows.I never planned to live my life in a trailer in a tiny mountain town. Funny how divorce changes your plans for you.And I never planned to fall in love again. After Jack, I figured I was better off alone. But Connor Charles, with his dark red hair and glowering good looks, was as compelling as he was frightening, and and glowering good looks, was as compelling as he was frightening, and I knew I should stay away from him. Especially if the rumors were true.
The police were interested in Connor … but the more I got to know him, the more I realized …
So was I.
A full-length small-town romance with a suspenseful atmosphere, a dose of humor and a satisfying happy ever after. Once you get a taste of Kings Grove, you’re going to want more!

This is the first book that I’ve read by this author – after reading this book I would definitely read more of her books and look for to the next book in this series. I thought Delancey did a great job with the main character, Maddie. Maddie is trying to rebuild her life and adjust to a drastic change in lifestyle after her husband cheats on her. I admired her spirit and determination, as well as her morals. The author also did a great job with Connor – I couldn’t decide if he really was what all the townspeople were accusing him of or if he was just their scapegoat. This book definitely showed that things aren’t always as they appear. I was given in ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I’ve read a LOT of Delancey Stewart books, and When We Let Go was both the awesomeness I was expecting from her, and also a suspenseful novel I was not expecting!
Maddie is struggling in her life – personal, work, her future – she’s not sure about anything. Then, along comes Connor – a gorgeous ginger, with a questionable past (and present) – to confuse her even more.
There were twists and turns and emotions throughout the story. I was surprised many times. This is a real page-turner that will leave you with all the feels!
As usual, the world-building is excellent. I have a vivid image in my mine of where everyone lives, what the small town looks like, and the gorgeous scenery.
I felt close to all the characters, and felt their emotions. They were relatable, even if they didn’t react the way I would have.
This romance with elements of suspense is absolutely lovely. I highly recommend it.
This book blew me away!
Love Rebuilt is book 1 in the new Kings Grove series by Delancey Stewart.
I loved the vividness and also the honest portrayal of small town life. This author was very descriptive in her writing and I could envision myself in the characters shoes throughout this book.
Maddie Turner hasn’t had it easy and it only gets worse. After dealing with life changing deceit, she moves back to her small mountain hometown in hopes of starting over only to discover the lies were deeper than she thought.
The raw emotion had me heartbroken and in tears. I couldn’t put it down.
Conner Charles is a recluse and has lost almost everything he holds dear. Small town living breeds rumors and tongue in cheek comments, most of which are directed at or about him.
While Charles is seen as a villain by many, can he be Maddie’s savior? Things aren’t always what they seem to be in this suspenseful read. I highly recommend this book and urge you to see for yourself.
Sweet story told only from the H’s perspective and with quite a lot of that in her head. The sleeper character in the book is her brother. It was ok. Wouldn’t discourage anyone from reading it. I’d like to read the next one to see how th authors style evolves.
Maddie’s dream of building her beautiful house on her family property in Kings Grove goes up in smoke quickly when she discovers her smarmy, lying, cheating husband has other plans. She’s been living the high life with a man she barely knows and rarely likes, but now it has come to a screeching halt when he has moved on to his next tartlet! Now Maddie is left with an unfinished house, in the middle of nowhere and no money, living in a tin box trailer.
In walks someone who may be interested in buying her unfinished mess. Maddie knows that selling would be the smart thing to do, but it would be hard to part with the property that holds memories of her time with her parents and brother. But the stranger who wants to buy it leads to her life being spiced up quite a bit. Connor Charles, the mysterious writer, is gorgeous and kind. But dark secrets seem to follow him. Can Maddie trustswhat she feels for him, or is there more to the stories she is hearing about Connor?
Maddie tries to figure out what to do about her house, her strained family and her feelings for Connor – which weaves this great story!
I am looking forward to more of this series.
I loved this book! The universe that Delancey Stewart created, Kings Grove, is gorgeous. The small town in the mountains is the epitome of a small town. The characters are very real and so unique. The story is fantastic as well, with suspense/mystery, tragedy, and, of course, romance. I’m looking forward to reading the second book in the series.
