Having only read one other by this author after this one I see I have missed alot of good ones. Once you are in this one and Chad has pulled over Tabby you get so curious that you want to know what is next. Tabby has the relatives that can cause a cringe but she does have someone. The chemistry between her and Chad simmers and then cooks. As you follow the relationship you fall in with the two. The other characters like her friend make this a satisfying read. Chad has relatives that make for more than a cringe lol. I so enjoyed seeing these two interact and the heat could be searing. I now am going to hope I see when the next one to this comes.
I got a proper kick out of this book. Naughty small town girl and sexy law-abiding cop? Yep, plenty of room there to write a fantastic story and peel back the layers of who people are. Tia Louise does an amazing job with her imagery so that you can feel the angst, turmoil, and heat simmer between these two. And that’s always a sign of an author getting it right; whether you like or hate the characters, you want to feel right along with them. I certainly did.
There are some pivotal scenes which made me fall in love with characters. The first time we meet Chad and he crosses his arms with a glint in his eyes? Yeah, that did it for me.
This book gets my recommendation as a fun, fast, steamy read.
I love this book so much!
Known as the bad girl in their little town, Tabby does nothing to dissuade the moral upright citizens of their belief. When she is caught breaking into the motel’s pool area she’s prepared to play it to the hilt until she lays eyes on the new sheriff’s deputy. A year later and on the path that leads to financial success and plans to travel the world, she absolutely refuses to let Chad Tucker, aka hot deputy, derail her agenda.
Chad has had his eyes on Tabby from the first night he saw her in her wet, transparent bra and panties. However, getting his crap together was the first thing he had to do but a run in with the wild child has him itching to make a connection with her. He’s living the life he’s worked for and has found contentment in Oceanside, so what better time to make a move on Tabitha Green.
This was such a great romance! Chad was the perfect hero. He was sensitive to the struggles Tabby dealt with and made sure to handle her with care in fear of chasing her away. I loved that she was always on his mind and once he took a step to make her his, he couldn’t stay away. While Tabby was labeled the bad girl, I really didn’t see her as being bad. She did deliberately say things to give all appearances that she was, but she had every right to fight against the powers that had raised her. Behind the tough girl image was a woman who needed assurance she would never be left behind.
I really enjoyed everything about this book. The humor was light but perfect, the citizens of Oceanside added to the feel of a small town community, and Tabby’s best friend’s daughter was absolutely adorable. When a major conflict arose my heart clinched as this couple each struggled to deal with it in their own ways. Despite that bit of angst, the rest of the story is relatively low drama and high heat. There was absolutely nothing I didn’t love about Tabby and Chad and this incredibly entertaining read!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book without compensation. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Ohh emm geee! This book was hot!! Chad and Tabby’s story was so sweet and suspenseful, it took me on one hell of an emotional roller coaster ride!! I would highly recommend this book!!
How do I tell you you how much I loved this book?? Oh right, just say it…I loved this book!!! I already loved Tabby tons in When We Touch, but here you just get to find out why. She is such a free spirit, strong no holds barred woman, and just such a kick a** chickie. I love how loyal she is to Emberly & CoCo, and her smarts, and especially her heart, as guarded as it is. And what’s not to love about Chad. Hot, sexy, amazing and a bit of a beast lol. Loved seeing all his sides, and how there was so much more to them. I loved their story and cheering them on throughout. You wanna know how it ends? Grab it up now & read it!!! You won’t be sorry
~WRITING – PLOT – PACE~
This book was just so damn sweet. I adored (almost) every little thing about it. It was well written. It was well paced, and I was never bored or felt the need to skim. The plot was entertaining. It was humorous. It was sweet. It was sexy. Last, it was all wrapped up in a lovely little bow of an epilogue.
~HERO~
CHAD…What can I say about Chad? He was pretty much a perfect book boyfriend. An ex-military man turned small town cop. He was sexy as f-ck. He was sweet but knew when to be a bad boy. He had the patience of a saint, and he was all about Tabby. What more could you ask for?
~HEROINE~
TABBY…I probably would have given this book 5-Stars if it hadn’t been for Tabby. For the most part, I liked her character a lot. She was feisty. She was sassy. She was funny. She was a good friend. That said, she just kind of grated on my nerves a wee bit when it came to some of her interactions with Chad, and how every time her Uncle said anything to her she overreacted. It was just a tiny niggle though and didn’t affect the way I felt about the story overall.
~SECONDARY CHARACTERS~
This book had SO many excellent secondary characters. I really want to read more about Emberly and Coco. I guess this book takes place before her and Jackson’s book WHEN WE TOUCH since she is all on her own in this one. I also got a kick out of Jimmy (a bad boy in the making?), and I would love to hear more about André. I even felt a bit sorry for Daisy (although as a heroine might be a hard sell unless she didn’t actually sleep with Tabby’s ex).
~HEAT LEVEL~
High. There were quite a few sex scenes in this one and they were suitable smokin’. Nothing too kinky though, just handcuffs.
~ANGST LEVEL – SEXUAL HISTORIES~
LOW. This wasn’t a particularly angsty read. The couple had a few ups and downs, but nothing over the top. Like I mentioned above, it was a pretty sweet and easy peasy type of read. Somewhat insta (although they meet and don’t start dating until a year passes). Neither were virgins (thank god). There really wasn’t much mention of the hero’s sexual past. He didn’t come off like a manwhore, nor was it mentioned if he had slept with any other women in the year between meeting the heroine and starting to date her. It was MY impression that he hadn’t since he mentions he was taking the time to get his life together. Same goes for the heroine. There wasn’t any OW or OM drama either.
~IN THE END~
Did I enjoy it? YES!
Was it perfect? Pretty damn close.
Would I recommend it? Yes.
What type of readers would enjoy this book? I think this one would perfect for those that like their romances sweet and drama free. As well as those that like their heroes charming and their heroines sassy.
This one gets two HUGE thumbs up from yours truly.
“When we kiss . . . Everything is exactly how it should be.”
Tabby Green and Deputy Chad Tucker’s story is sassy, sweet and sexy (oh, so sexy). With humor, heart, and a wonderful seductive pull that’s a little bit enemies-to-lovers and a little bit opposites-attract When We Kiss features strong and charming characters that capture your heart, and naughty good fun that TL is so good at delivering.
“I reminded myself to believe. I believe in us. I don’t want to see the world with anyone but you. I love you.”
I was delighted to visit the quirky town of Oceanside once again. A place where everyone is nosy, opinionated, and very gossipy. Chad and Tabby take us on their bumpy and steamy road to happiness. You will find yourself laughing with some of the occurrences and empathizing with the pain of their past. Most of all you will be rooting for their HEA.
“I Voluntarily Received and Reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book”
When We Kiss made me feel so good. I was entertained and deeply engrossed in Tabby and Deputy Chad Tucker’s story. All thanks to Tia Louise and her flawless and captivating storytelling.
The first chapter sets the tone. Bam! I was hooked. Tabby and Chad’s connection and chemistry popped or should I say sparks flew everywhere. I felt it down to my toes. These two characters are so much fun and complements each other perfectly.
Tabby is a woman who doesn’t give a damn and if she does she tries to hide it. She’s a rebellious woman and I enjoyed that about her but also that she could admit to her faults.
The only family she has besides her Uncle ,who’s a preacher, is her best friend Emberly and her daughter Coco. These three girls are family. Their love and support was beautiful. I’d already read Emberly’s book When We Touch so I knew of their friendship but for some reason I got a deeper connection in this book. These girls rock.
Deputy Chad Tucker. Swoon alert! Damn that mine was fine. More than fine. Such a kind, sweet man with good heart and a dirty mouth in bed. Yummy and Tabby approved too. I enjoyed his life story and why he chose to move to Oceanside. He doesn’t want to change Tabby because of some of her inappropriate choices but lets her be her. The fabulous and outspoken Tabby.
They come together and magic happens. Whether they just talked or were making eyes at each other I felt it. I just needed them around each other all the time because of their chemistry but also because they’re so much fun. I had fun with Tabby and Chad. My heart also hurt for them.
The author Tia Louise didn’t throw any unnecessary drama their way but let these two wonderful characters shine and focused on them. Where the magic was.
The epilogue was just icing on this delicious and incredible cake. Talk about a book that made me feel everything and left me so content. That’s why I read.
5 Dimple Stars
5 star Review When We Kiss by Tia Louise
I have read several books by Tia Louise and in my opinion she seems to be getter better and better, her writing is strong and her characters are likeable and easy to relate too; they could be someone you know in your own life.
This is a small town romance about Chad , an uptight police office and the town’s bad girl Tabby and what a pairing these two make. As I have come to expect from a book by Tia Louise When We Kiss was well written and scorchingly hot , so much so that at times I thought that flames might leap off the page.
Chad is every woman’s dream of what a hot cop would be and totally swoon worthy and I adored him. I loved the character of Tabby, particularly her relationship with her best friend Emberly and Emberly’s little girl Coco.
Told in dual POV’s When We Kiss had all the ingredients for a successful and amazing read. The chemistry between Chad and Tabby is so smoking that you couldn’t get enough of it and yet it is also a fun, romantic story.
I loved the secondary characters almost as much as the main particularly since Chad and Tabby are total opposites… but then they say opposites attract don’t they?
When We Kiss was so good and had me hooked from the beginning. I loved Tabby, she was crazy, sassy, real and just awesome! I loved Chad, he was sexy, swoony and perfect! Chad and Tabby had amazing chemistry and scorching sexy scenes! I loved loved them together! I love Tabby and Ember’s friendship and little Coco was adorable! Loved this book so much! Definitely recommend this!
