Tabitha is known in Oceanside as a wild child but that isn’t who she really is. Chad is a police officer in Oceanside who is just trying to get away from the life he once had. Tabitha and Chad are so different but Chad wants to get to know her better and not taking no for an answer. Tabitha and Chad’s chemistry is off the charts but Tabitha is a little reluctant. Chad is a very determined man and they both have to get past some issues in order to decide what they truly want.
I loved reading about Tabitha and Chad!! Tabitha and Chad are as different as night and day but that doesn’t seem to stop Chad at all. Chad is a man who knows what he wants and goes after it while Tabitha is very head strong with a soft side that most don’t get to see. I love seeing them together and I didn’t want their story to end.
Reading has been like my favorite thing since the BoxCar Kids… the original ones not what we get these days. So I try to read a variety of authors because everyone offers something different. I try not to really have favorites but these authors aren’t my kiddos and Tia Louise is a TOP FAVORITE (just don’t tell the other authors)!!! Her words pull at my heart and open it up. She creates a world and I fall in love with her people, their places, and their love for life and each other. Mrs. Louise is one author that I follow and I don’t have to see a cover or read a blurb to want her books… I will read it. I want to read everything she creates. She can start writing horror tomorrow and I will follow her. The ability she has to create an entrancing and poignant story is perfection. Plus she’s a damn sweet lady herself and I just adore every single thing I know about her.
So anyways, When We Kiss is an amazingly sweet and sexy story. What is it about a preacher’s child that sets them on a path of rebellion? Tabby is totally the rebel with a plan and I just adored her voracity for life. Chad is completely swoonable and the most adorable cop ever! I love that he wants to let loose for Tabby. Tabby and Chad embrace life and both are striving for their own goals but what happens when these two have this magnetic pull toward each other? Can they handle their secrets and pasts?
I loved the heat between these two. They were so wrapped up in each other that it felt alive. I really appreciated the fact that there wasn’t just pointless drama added in. The story itself was deep and layered enough without a bunch of distractions. Plus that banter… the plain fun between them was hilarious. I would love to get more stories from this Oceanside small town. The feel of the town is one of comradely and friendship… almost a family-type of setting. I couldn’t get enough!
I love a book that literally just makes me smile while I read it. Mrs. Louise touched my heart with the sweet and fun, the heat and tenderness. The story made me feel all sentimental about life and falling in love. When We Kiss makes you appreciate your life a bit more… or it did that for me. I see how lucky I am and it’s a refreshing reminder.
Wow, this one really did give me tingles in all the right places!! This is only my second book by Tia, both have blown my socks off and I can’t wait to read more from her!! When We Kiss had me enthralled within the first few pages – I loved the storyline (hot cop & bad girl), the setting (small town romance) and the characters are fabulous!!
This really did tick all my boxes!! Tabitha is the local ‘wild child’ girl, brought up by her Uncle, the local Preacher, who’s sermons and preachings rub her up entirely the wrong way!! She’s fiery and sassy, not afraid to speak her mind, but independent and strong, wanting to do her own thing, regardless of what the town and their gossiping think of her. Chad is the local Deputy Sheriff – hot, sexy Alpha goodness all wrapped up in a sexy uniform complete with handcuffs!! They’ve danced around each other for a year, trying to deny their attraction and chemistry, but all bets are off and Chad makes his move!!!
This was a fabulous read, I loved every minute of it!! Romantic, funny, sexy, sassy and emotional at times. I loved Tabby’s relationship with her best friend Emberly and her daughter Coco, what a sweetheart!! The town with all its characters and antics and busybodies – you can really picture yourself being there, it really drew me in!! Chad and Tabby together are just perfect, opposites really do attract and I loved them all the more for it. A perfect read for me, highly recommended!!
OMG! HOT! Loved this so much! So entertaining. Well written. One of the better stories she has out!! Grab this you wont be disappointed.
4,5 ‘HOT Deputy Dog’ stars
This was seriously on hot book. Deputy Sheriff Chad was gorgeous and sex on a stick, he can lock me up and keep my in handcuffs any time he wants. Tabby was cute and funny but she had a serious side as well, plus she took no prisoners when it came to putting people in their place, just ask Chad’s mom, lol.
Chad and Tabby met in quite an unusual way. Tabby was caught in a delicate situation and was embarrassed by the scorching hot new deputy seeing her in her soaking wet, and transparent underwear. She swore she’d never want to see him again after that night. Chad on the other hand was highly attracted and wanted to get to know her, but Tabby never gave him a chance and avoided him at all cost.
A year has past since that night and Tabby is now on a small business owner, running a web design studio from her home. One speeding incident brings her back under Chad’s radar and this time, he’s not going to let her get away so easily.
I laughed and seriously swooned with these two. Tabby doesn’t hold back for anyone. She and Chad were fabulous together. So sweet and funny, but it was the sweet sassy banter between these two that rocked the pages. They were SMOCKIN’ HOT together. I loved them, and this book. Can’t wait to see who gets the next story set in this lovely town.
Also, FYI:
When We Kiss by Tia Louise is actually the second book set in the small town of Oceanside, although it kind of feels like it should have been the first as a lot of the story takes place before When We Touch, which was Emberly and Jackson’s book. I gave me a few furrowed brows at the start of the book as I kept thinking I’d read about this place before and the secondary characters were familiar too. It’s been a year since a read book 1, and I’ve read a ton of books since then.
I finally figured it out when the ‘poboy’ sandwiches and Andre were mentioned. So, if you haven’t read When We Touch, I’d suggest waiting until after When We Kiss to do so. I’m going to reread it now.
Chad and Tabby are going to give you that hometown feel with a bit of sass, humor and sexy all rolled into one.
Tabby is the town preacher’s niece and a bit of a rebel. She likes to do what she wants and could really care less what the town gossip say. Although she really is a sweet, loyal gal at heart.
Chad is a retired military man that wants the quiet of a small town so he moves to become a deputy of a little off the map kind of place that will serve you a bit of town gossip and your pie at the same time .
The attraction is undeniable even though Tabby is going to fight it tooth and nail. She certainly can’t be drawn to such a straight laced, by the book very hot looking deputy …can she?
Chad is just enthralled with the local as the town calls her wild child but once he digs a little deeper into Miss Rulebreaker he soon realizes that their is so much more to her.
This is sweet, sexy, funny tale of enemies to lovers!
You never know what fate might have instore for you until you kiss !!!
~~Michele McMullen ~~
Let’s start with the title of this book…it is perfection! It explains all you need to know about Chad and Tabby!
Next, this book has the perfect amount of comedy, passion, and emotion. They prove that when it is meant to be, it is meant to be, and there is NO point in fighting something that is written in the stars.
Third, who doesn’t want a law abiding, law breaking, naughty man in blue?! Tabby can fight their relationship all she wants but Chad knows it is meant to be!
Holy cow When We Kiss was the perfect amount of sweet and sexy! Chad and Tabby’s relationship was definitely an epic love story in the making. The banter between these two made this book! Tabby is a sassy wild child and Chad is a straight laced cop (at least on the outside…sweet Jesus). They say opposites attract and truer words have never been spoken. These two had chemistry off the charts and I absolutely loved everything about them! What they brought out in one another was beautiful!
As soon as I heard the title of Tia Louise’s newest release, When We Kiss, I instantly thought of Betty Everett’s song, “It’s in His Kiss,” and two particular lines of the lyrics seem to epitomize Tabby and Chad’s slow burn romance and the depth of their attraction and desire for each other.
“If you wanna know if he loves you so
It’s in his kiss.”
Since Tabby and Chad have spent the last year avoiding one another, building up a whole lot of sexual tension, their first kiss is a long time coming, but once it occurs, there’s no stopping these two from getting down and dirty, so much so, that Tabby feels the need to name Chad’s private part, illustrating just how quirky she is and how captivated she seems to be with Chad and his bedroom skills.
I love how Louise slowly reveals that Chad is not as straight laced as Tabby assumes, which means that as the begin to build a solid connection, committing to seeing where their relationship can go, readers begin to understand why they’re so attracted to each other despite how different they seem to be at the beginning of their story.
As I continued reading Tabby and Chad’s story, the fact that Tabby had specific career goals and plans to leave Oceanside was always in the back of my mind, so as they found themselves falling in love and starting to want more than a physical relationship, I wasn’t sure how it was going to work between them without one or both of them having to give up something that truly defines who they are. Tia Louise odes a nice job of illustrating Tabby’s struggles and her need to do a bit of soul searching so she knows when she does make a decision that she’s considered all options and avenues presented to her.
I love the small town vibe of Oceanside that Louise creates throughout Tabby and Chad’s story, and I find it quite interesting that they seem to be at opposite ends when it comes to their little city. Chad moved there to escape his old life, embracing the slower pace of his new home while Tabby seems hellbent on escaping all the judgmental people who have watched her grow up and act out when she was under her uncle’s roof. Tabby has a severe case of wanderlust, and, in some ways, Oceanside is too set in its ways and too old fashioned for the fearless and adventurous woman that Tabby is. I especially enjoyed the old ladies of Oceanside who do their best to get into everyone’s business; these women are the busybodies of the town, which is realistic for a small environment like Oceanside and it’s just one more reason that Tabby feels the need to escape, which makes her feelings for Chad a bit problematic.
The ending of When We Kiss is perfect for who Tabby and Chad are and what they’ve become. The idea that a kiss started their love and it also helped to bring their love back shows how important passion in a relationship is, especially with someone like Tabby whose fiery personality keeps Chad on his toes.
Even though I wanted a bit more insight into some of the relationships that existed in the story line and further explanation as to why Tabby and Chad are who they are based on their pasts, I really enjoyed When We Kiss. Tabby is definitely a handful but if anyone can ‘tame’ her and make her see that she can have adventure, a career, and even love right where she’s at, it’s Chad.
4.5 Poison Apples
I loved When We Touch by Tia Louise. So when I found out we were getting more romance from this small town of Oceanside, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it! This is a story of bad girl meets good cop. She’s the wild child and he’s straight-laced. But looks can be deceiving because Chad definitely has a little bit of bad up his sleeve! Lol
Oh, how I loved Adam! He was my favorite! I also enjoyed reading more about Emberly and Coco.
Chad’s and Tabitha’s chemistry was explosive from the start!! She’s so full of sass and independence and and he’s such a sexy, perfect gentleman! This book was hilarious one minute and so sweet the next!! I absolutely loved how this story played out!!
This book can be read as a standalone or if you wanna read, Emberly and Jackson’s story, When We Touch, after this then that would work too because it actually takes place after this book ends. If you like funny, sweet and sexy you should definitely give this book a try! It’s oh, so good!!
4.5 Stars
I was so excited about this book. Tia Louise gives us a second small town romance with an opposites attract storyline I loved. This is a standalone, but it’s Tabby’s book and if you read When We Touch, you know Tabby is Emberly’s best friend from that book. I loved Tabby and her story did not disappoint!
Tabby is the town bad Girl and Chad is the town hero. These two should have nothing in common and common sense would indicate they should stay far away from each other. Tabby is not the kind of woman a cop would be interested in. An upstanding citizen like Chad shouldn’t give someone like Tabby a second glance. Only problem is, these two can’t seem to stay away from each other. They have an intense attraction that is either the most perfect thing they’ll ever find or the worst idea they have ever allowed. I loved these two so much! They really were perfect for each other and even if everyone in town had doubts, a passion like theirs would be bound to get so many tongues wagging anyway.
Overall I don’t read many small town romances but When We Kiss was just as fun and magically for me as When We Touch. Loved this story and most definitely recommend it.
When We Kiss is a sweet, charming and hilarious book! I love romance books with a small town setting coupled with the nosy old folks as it makes for a funny and engaging plot. That’s exactly what Tia Louise created here and she exceeded my expectations with this one. Tabby is a bad girl but in the best kind of way. I just adored her character as she was funny, independent, loyal and full of sass. I also love reading books about hot cops and Deputy Sheriff Chad gave me all the feels in all the right places. He was sexy, alpha and just an all around good guy. These two could not be more different however opposites attract and that’s certainly the case here. Watching their relationship develop was heartwarming and reading about their hot sexy times was even better. Their witty banter with each other along with the secondary characters (cue in nosy, matchmaking, very opinionated and lovable old folks lol) was spot on!
I definitely recommend reading When We Kiss.
I know Tia for a while, but till today I’ve read her book which she co-write… I’m very mad at myself right now, still can’t find answer why it takes me sooo long to start reading her own stories.
What a shame for me…. When We Kiss is my first her solo book.
I have only one thing to say THIS book is TOTALLY amazing – love so much Chad and Tabby’s story, they perfectly match even if they are totally opposites.
I knew that When We kiss will be enemies to lovers story but didn’t expected that it will be also sooo sweet. I was melting when Chad wanted to catch Tabby in his greedy hands!!! Their chemistry can burn face to ashes but I couldn’t be even a little suprise…. Chad was chasing our gurl because Tabby is sexy and smart. Poor lady didn’t have a chance… come on Chad is walking hero in police uniform right? what’s the best in rest story ??? He’s real alphamale but with lot of softness around his heart.
In this book I like also how Tia described small towns and people living inside, every good and bad things… how important is having good friends around.
I say again that I love this book very much!
I really enjoyed reading When We Kiss. How can you not love the town bad girl and the town cop romance. Tabby and Chad are so hot together. You are left fanning yourself over and over when these two come together. Tabby is a spitfire. She is a loyal friend and out to prove that she isn’t what she seems. Chad may be the town cop but he is no angel either. He can cuff me anytime. He is a sweet heart. I love that we get to have a little bit of Emberly Tabby’s bestie in this one. I love Tia Louise and what she gives us in When We Kiss. Go one click this one and be prepared to be glued to your kindles for one heck of ride with Tabby and Chad.
4.5 Stars
When We Kiss is a sweet and sexy bad cop/bad girl read. I enjoyed this book from start to finish. I liked the flow of the story, the drama, seeing past characters and most of all the banter between Tabby and Chad, they were fun and sweet. Spitfire Tabby is someone I would really like to be friends with, and she sure kept Officer Chad on his toes. From the smouldering looks across the room, to them getting it on, you could feel their attraction coming off the pages. I really enjoyed reading this story.
I was so thrilled when I heard that Tia Louise was writing When We Kiss. Have you already read When We Touch, Emberly and Jackson’s story? Well, now, it’s Emberly’s best friend and co-worker, Tabby Green’s turn, and the hot cop she just couldn’t seem to stay away from.
Tabitha Green was raised by her Uncle, the town preacher. But Tabby was not cut out for her Uncle’s strict ways. She rebelled against him and thought of herself as a bad girl, a Jezebel! That’s how she got her first glimpse of the new deputy sheriff, Chad Tucker, getting caught somewhere she shouldn’t have been. Now, eighteen months later she’s started her own business, a web design company, and she’s saving up for her dream trip around the world. She wants to get out of this small town of busy bodies and see far away places.
Chad’s family had big plans for him which did not include moving to a small town and working as a deputy sheriff. But it’s exactly what Chad wanted and needed. He loves it here. He’s had Tabby on his mind since the first night he saw her. But he needed time to get himself together. Now he’s done waiting and wants nothing more than to show Tabby that he’s not the straight laced cop she seems to think he is. That he can be a bad boy too. Showing her how he can be a bad boy is going to be the fun part. Convincing her to give him a chance is going to be the difficult part.
“I’ve been guarded, staying out of the mix, keeping my head down. It’s almost as if I’ve been figuratively out to sea. Now it’s time to come home.”
The last thing Tabby needs is a straight laced cop in her life. Or anything that would tie her to this town. But when he looks at her, it wakes up all sorts of things inside her. And when they kissed, she realized that she wanted more, would have to have more.
This book was just fantastic! It made me smile, sigh, and swoon (a lot.) There is no way I could not love Chad and Tabby. I loved Tabby’s relationship with her best friend, Emberly and Emberly’s little girl, Coco. Chad was every fantasy of a hot cop that you can dream up. He was caring and patient as a cop but when he’s off the clock, he can think up much better ways to use those hand cuffs.
Chad and Tabby were perfect together and they burned up the pages with their chemistry. I couldn’t put this book down. Once again Tia Louise has captured my heart. I definitely hope she decides to write more about these loveable characters in this small coastal community of Oceanside. But I’m pretty sure at this point that I can say with confidence that I will love anything she writes. I can’t wait to see what will come next.
“When we kiss…Everything is exactly how it should be.”
4.5 Stars!!!
Let me start off by saying I loved the sassy, misunderstood Tabby and I was sooo glad she had a friend like Emberly. And Chad; oh he had some perseverance, hotness and just the right amount of “bad boy” to make you just love him. I enjoyed the slow burn leading up to the combustion between Tabby & Chad. I have never had so much laughter from an introduction than with Andy ~ this is definitely one that is going to stick with me for awhile.
Chad and tabby are such great character with a good story line. This book gave me so many feels.
I devoured this story in a day.
What happens when a bad girl and a good cop meet? Sparks fly, but she avoids him for nearly a year until Chad decides to finally make his move on the bad girl with a good heart.
Tabby is a preacher’s niece who’s never quite conformed to her uncle’s and her small hometown’s conservative views. She’s known as a bad girl, but she’s not so bad really, just free-spirited and determined to make something of herself. So when she makes a mistake and meets Chad, her town’s newest deputy while doing so, she’s humiliated that the hot cop is witness to her incredibly bad error in judgment. Can one hot cop with a background of rescuing people make a go with a bad girl who’s good at heart?
I absolutely adored When We Kiss. It’s got Tia’s signature brand of sexiness with two leads who beautifully mesh despite their seemingly opposite personalities. Chad and Tabby made me smile, made me laugh, and made me swoon. I loved them and the cast of zany, interesting characters that make up their world.
Loved Tabby and Chad!!! She was considered the town bad Girl but she really wasn’t. And he was the new hot sheriff in town. The way he met her was hilarious and to Tabby embarrassing. She thought he was hot and he thought she was the most beautiful woman ever. But they left it at that.
A year later Chad asks her out which Tabby kept refusing but then eventually accepted. She didn’t expect to have so much fun with the cop. Things slowly developed and their chemistry was explosive. But these two had lots of issues holding them back and there was a bump in the road. They needed this for their relationship.
When everything has been resolved it’s close to perfect. The banter and hotness between these two will have you laughing from beginning to end. The epilogue was cute and still will have you smiling.
