Tabby is a preacher’s niece, a website designer and a bad girl. Chad is retired military, a deputy sheriff, and a hero. They are oil and vinegar and do not mix. When they kiss, however, everything changes. – I love this romance. Tabby does not do everything her uncle and the town gossips think she should, but she is not a bad girl. She is smart, funny and sassy. Chad is honest, caring and apparently very handsome. Chad goes after what he wants, but he is respectful of boundaries. I enjoyed the relationship between Tabby and Chad and Tabby’s relationship with her best friend and granddaughter. Chad’s relationship with his other was interesting. I highly recommend this book.
h: Tabitha aka Tabby
H: Chad
(Dual POVs)
Chad is the new sheriff’s deputy in the small town of Oceanside. The first time he sees Tabitha, she is climbing out of a pool, clothes soaking wet. During the following year, Tabitha steers clear of Deputy Chad Tucker, and Chad is occupied working out his life and himself. After not having much contact for a year, Chad pulls Tabby over in her car for speeding. Tabby is no longer able to ignore ‘Mr. Tall, Dark, and Sexy.’ Chad immediately asks her out, and that is the beginning of a fast paced love affair.
Chad Yes please. Charming, sweet, caring, thoughtful, protective AND dirty. The tidbits we get about Chad’s past towards the end of the book were a bit random, but I thought it helped build his backstory and his connection he had with Tabby. Tabby’s plan has always been to travel the world, by herself, and I sympathized with her when she wasn’t so sure if that was what she wanted anymore.
Favorite quotes:
Chad is a good guy. He’s the type of guy who wants a family and a home right here in this small town. He wants peace and quiet. I hate peace and quiet. I’m not a good girl- just ask any of the old biddies in town. I’m a Jezebel. Maybe I’ll have a family one day, but it’ll be later, after I see the world… Tabitha pg 83
“Two weeks, and I’ve not only ridden in a cop car, I’ve ridden you in a cop car.” – Tabitha pg 170
Hot cop to cuff the bad girl!?! Yes, please, Officer!
I can absolutely say that I would have caved to a date with the sexy deputy long before Miss Tabby Green did. Hell, I probably would have rolled over and begged! Because I may be a bad girl but I’m also very appreciative of a man in uniform.
Chad isnt any guy in uniform though. He’s kind, caring, and drop dead gorgeous. Any one of those qualities would get attention but all of them…(phew! Fans self.) He’s on a whole different playing field.
Tia Louise has given us the fantasy, now we just need Tabby to comply! (P.S. She doesn’t disappoint.)
Sexy and sweet with delicious heat, When We Kiss will have you craving a little one on one with a certain purple accessory too!
Maybe 3.5 Cute small town, nosy neighbors type of read. H & h both have issues to work through but have an attraction to one another. Lots of sex, fall in love quickly and HFN.
I was pretty sure I was gonna like this book. What I wasn’t didn’t expect was to love Chad and Tabby just as much if not more than Emberly and Jackson. They were after all the couple that introduced me to this author. Turns out I think I’m just going to love everything Tia Louise writes.
At times I felt like yelling at Tabby because I felt like she was banging her head against a wall for no good reason. Why couldn’t she just open herself up to the possibility of happiness with Chad. Turns out Tabby has some very good reasons for her hesitation and they weren’t what I expected. Chad waited an entire year to ask Tabby out. When he finally does it takes a little convincing to get her to agree to a date. He’s great! He’s caring and considerate and seems like an amazing guy. Tabby just keeps taking 1 step forward and 2 steps back.
Reading how these 2 work their stuff out was an angsty experience. I loved every page of it!!! A great romantic read with a happily every after.
Grab your tissues! Oh my the HEA is utterly perfect in this small town romance. Chad and Tabby are adorable. Excellent story line, beautifully written. Heartbreak, make ups, and just the right amount of heat! 5 stars!!!
Sweet story, great characters, great side characters! Great chemistry!
Everything sparkles — the writing, the characters, the setting. But the chemistry is explosive. Can’t miss. Must read. One of my Top 5 of 2018.
A delicious and sultry small town romance packed with feels. I could not put this book down!
Deliciously sweet romance, steamy hot sex, angst, and lots and lots of humor…
An absolutely unforgettable read.
Swoon worthy. Hot. Steamy. Addictive. Tabby is a fierce heroine, and Chad is a dream hero…
When We Kiss is a sweet little story. I love the trope of “bad girl/straight-laced guy,” and Tia Louise did it well. Great interactions between our Hero and Heroine, Chad and Tabby respectively. Chad is our classic ex-military, law enforcement officer, sweet little do-gooder. And Tabby is our “bad girl,” who really isn’t that bad at all, just different from the small minded biddies in their town.
This was a sweet read, although it seemed to lack substance. Regardless, it was a nice read for a rainy afternoon.
This was a really fun read. It takes place in a small town, where everybody knows everyone else’s business. Tabby is the resident bad girl, who also happens to be the preacher’s niece. But she is really a nice, smart woman who has worked her way through college and started her own web design business.
Chad moves to the small town to become the sheriff. He keeps to his self for the first year, but he always notices Tabby.
I liked the dates that Chad planned for Tabby, I only wish there had been more dates. I like the chemistry between the two of them, seemingly opposites, they were a perfect match.
First of all, I would’ve read and reviewed this book much sooner had I known it was out already. (Thanks a lot for all the new changes that push authors down on my news feed, Facebook. You suck, Zuckerberg!)
Second of all, what really appealed to me about this book (other than the author, whom I love) is that it’s the story of a bad girl instead of a bad boy. You don’t get too much of that in romance these days. Contemporary romance these days is full of good girls and virginal heroines who get involved with the arrogant, ex- manwhore bad boy types. That wasn’t the case with When We Kiss. If anything, the small town folk in this book think that Tabby, the heroine, could be a bad influence on Chad, the hero. The role reversal was a super refreshing change from the norm.
And as much as Tabby is considered a “bad girl” by the small town folk, she’s actually a great heroine. She’s hard working, a great friend, and a free spirit who marches to the beat of her own drum. She was relatable and her inner dialogue was pretty hilarious at times.
Chad is a damn near perfect book boyfriend. He’s a nice guy and a good, upstanding cop. But he also manages to be super sexy and alpha at the same time, which is ANOTHER refreshing change from the norm in this book. A hot cop who isn’t a cocky jerk. Huh. Who knew they even existed in romance land?
The romance between Chad and Tabby was a nice slow burn. Did I get irritated with Tabby at times for emotionally retreating instead of facing her feelings head-on? Sure. But I let it go because she had good reasons for feeling the way she did.(Lots of small town history. I won’t give anything away other than that.) Did I get irritated with Chad for not realizing how things were going to go down between Tabby and his family? Sure. But I let it go because he was only trying to see the good in everyone. (He’s just that kind of guy.)
And we all know that sex scenes are NOT the good parts of romance novels, but…the sex scenes here are HOT HOT HOT. Fans of spicy contemporary romance will NOT be disappointed.
So, all in all, this was a great read from a great author. No real surprise there. You can 1-click with confidence.
Full disclosure: We received an ARC from the author, free of charge.

The Bad Girl and Deputy Tucker…5+stars!
I loved reading When We Kiss, it has everything I look for in a feel-good, small-town romance. Throw in a feisty, independent heroine, a swoon-worthy alpha male, and all the busybodies in a small town and you have one heartwarming romance filled with humor, fun and wit.
Tabatha Green is coined the bad girl of her small town, ever since her mom dropped her off to be raised by her uncle, she’s been known as the pastor’s niece. Growing up she’d face the memory of her mother’s reputation as a constant reminder of how her impulsive behavior might lead her. So what if she’s a bit impetuous, Tabatha is determined to enjoy life on her own terms. She’s not apologetic about taking care of herself and being happy even as the pastor, her uncle, hurtles lightning bolts aimed at her during Sunday sermons to settle down.
Tabatha is fearless and determined to become successful. But when she meets the new deputy sheriff, Tabatha knows he’s trouble. His gorgeous good looks and bad-boy aura does crazy things to her body. There’s no room in her life for a distraction, and besides, she’s got bigger plans to blow this popsicle stand once her new web design business takes off.
Chad Tucker knows all too well the kind of girl Tabatha Green is. The death of his sister who was just as impulsive and wild proved to be unpredictable. Yet, he can’t deny the attraction to the town’s “rebel without a cause” sexy siren. Chad and Tabatha learn more about each other and when they finally kiss, it’s electrifying. The chemistry between Chad and Tabatha is sizzling, their caresses and irresistible, heart-pounding passion is off the charts. And Chad never expected to fall hard for her.
When We Kiss is a wonderful romance and I was left smiling after that gratifying and swoon-worthy ending. I love Chad and Tabatha together, along with all the great secondary characters who lent plenty of depth to the story. Lots of emotion, and laugh-out-loud moments you won’t want to miss. Ms. Louise infuses lots of heart in this story and she did a phenomenal job. I can’t wait for the next book in the series. I received and voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
It was a solid fun read! The characters all stood out. My only issue is the use of a mystery to force the reader to invest in all the other books. I’m a fan of standalone stories. This was a quick read but a long story. That is a lot of time the authors want you to invest in over 4 more books.
Tia Louise has captured ALL my favorite romance elements, packaged them up, and titled it When We Kiss. I’m crazy about this swoony small-town romance! This author knows how to reach in and hit the feels button. Once I started, there was no stopping. I devoured each scene like the most delicious meal, until every bite was enjoyed. I’m left soaring on a euphoric high, totally satisfied.
Tabby appears to everyone to be a bad, wild girl – but do they truly know her and what she is doing with her life? The only person that really knows her is her best friend since childhood, Emberly. Her goal is to travel the world, so she doesn’t want a relationship, plus everyone always leaves – right?
Officer Chad Tucker, Oceanside’s new sheriff, first meets Tabitha Green when the sheriff’s department is called for trespassers at a motel pool. When Chad walks up to the pool, there stands Tabby in practically nothing. It’s been one year since that day and Chad still can’t the visual of Tabby out of his mind. So he asks her out and she refuses, because again she doesn’t think that a bad girl and a cop can have anything in common. What will happen when they finally go out? Will Chad crash and burn or will he finally get what is has wanted for the last year?
When We Kiss is an awesome, must read romance by Tia Louise.
This is the wonderful small town romance of Tabby and Chad. Their characters are hot, funny, and complete opposites. But they have amazing chemistry.
Tabby is a ‘bad girl’, the niece of the local pastor and Chad is a police officer, with little little bit of bad, too. Their romance takes a long time to develop, but when they finally hook up, will their hearts melt, as well as the sheets. Tia Louise comes through again. Also read Emberly’s tale of love in When We Touch, another five star read.
