SO many emotions in 1 story!
You know there are books that you just love and could read over and over again? This is one of them.
I received an ARC of this story and I have to say THANK YOU! I truly loved this book. The characters are so real, the emotions shown throughout the book, you’ll feel them all; happy, sad, anger, love, scared, lots of tears both happy and sad, and so many more. I loved watching Kenna grow and yet still have that doubt in the back of her mind. Sutton, her mom and her brother Rogan who gave undying love, acceptance, support and a place to stay, only getting the true story bits and pieces at a time of what Kenna had been through. The love between Kenna and Rogan is rare and oh so real. If you’ve never known or been through what Kenna’s life has dealt her, you may not relate, but pick up the book and see how Stacy weaves love, truth, lies, and real life into this loveable characters!
This was a beautiful heartwarming tale. It didn’t completely go how I expected it to from the synopsis but I enjoyed it nonetheless.
Kenna runs away from a shit home and tries to commit suicide by getting ran over by a train. Rogan runs into her (literally) and saves her. Takes the poor girl out for food and brings her home for a comfort long night
This starts a friendship between the two sparked by attraction. He sees the life she comes from. They find out she was adopted and this starts the plot of her looking to find her real family. At the same time her and Rogan are getting closer to one another.
The story is pretty good and full of drama, but it’s the characters that really warm your heart. Rogan is life and will do anything for Kenna. He takes so many personal sacrifices from his own band for her and goes out of the way in looking for her family. Kenna I am partial to. She cries a lot, so sometimes it was a lot to deal with when reading. But when the two of them are together, it just makes the book.
This story takes you through so many emotions. A great story that shows what it’s like for someone to struggle with abuse and feelings of being not good enough, thinking it’s better they are no longer around. A stranger steps in and makes the decision that changes everything. I smiled, I cried and I felt so many things. Can’t wait to read the next book.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book. I habe to admit, I read the second book before the first one and have been a little afraid that this one is as intense and heartbreaking as the first one. So, I’ve been kind of releaved that’s not the case. Anyway, Rogan literally stumbles over Kenna thinking he rescued her from a very bad choice she made. A very deep story with lots of backround to go from and questions that get more and more by the chapters. You get a vary idea, what went on in Kenna’s live, but you have to wait to the very end for all the secrets to be spilled. Great book.
Really well-written, angstful, teen romance and a cautionary tale of the evils of bullying. I got so immersed in the poor heroine’s traumatic journey that I found it hard to put down.
While reading When Tomorrow Starts Without Me I had so many emotions. I felt fear for Kenna’s choices, hope for Kenna when Rogan finds her, and anger for what Kenna has had to live with for her entire life.
I am a HUGE fan of Stacy Claflin’s but this book was different for her. There was still the tough subjects that she is known for, there was still the relatable characters that I come to expect in her books, but this story seemed more rushed. I felt like these characters could have been more developed. There seemed to be more to their story that wasn’t told. Kenna seemed too accepting of Rogan’s help, too accepting of who she was, and just not cautious enough with what she had gone through. This story just seemed to want to tell me more.
With all that being said, I could not stop reading. I was invested in Kenna and Rogan. I wanted to know what happen to them. Would Rogan make it big with his band? Would Kenna be able to figure out the mystery of her past? Most importantly would Rogan and Kenna be together?
I recommend picking up your own copy of When Tomorrow Starts Without You and enjoying the story of Kenna and Rogan.
Life is been so hard on Kenna that all she wants is for the pain to disappear. So when Rogan saves her while trying to comitt suicide she is really angry. But Rogan will show Kenna that she could be loved and that life is worthy. She will face her past’s demonstration with Rogan’s help. A very intense story that will keep you reading until the end.
