Did you ever hear the joke about the guy whose wife cheated on him with his best friend? So he quit his job, moved into his parents’ basement, and gained fifty pounds? No? Because that wasn’t a joke. It was my life. Four years later, I’m back with a dream job, a killer apartment, and a set of abs that are better than ever. So, when Maggie Light, a stunning, snarky blonde moves in next door, and … blonde moves in next door, and we spend the hottest weekend of our lives together, I think this could be the greatest comeback story ever.
That is until I realize Maggie has moved to town to do one thing—steal my job.
Maybe this isn’t a comeback story after all. Maybe this is war—one I intend to win.
What I never anticipated was that maybe I’d rather win her.
Perhaps, if I’m lucky, the universe has finally run out of jokes and I can somehow win both.

I don’t even know what to say about this collaboration except, “give me more!” I loved this one from the get go. I was hooked on every word from the time these two met. So fluid, so easy and just really so much fun. Shane and Maggie just click and the story that follows is not only entertaining and sexy but really well told. Honestly this was exactly what I needed. Humor, wit and just enough angst to keep the story moving. Although at one point I was afraid to turn the page to see where this story was headed I was very happy with the results and was able to wipe the sweat from my brow. lol I loved this story and I’m pretty sure you will too!
The first co-written book by these two amazing authors! I love stories that center around competitors!

A wonderfully lighthearted, witty and sexy romantic comedy, When The Walls Come Down was exactly what I wanted to read. A bit of a workplace romance, with a splash of serendipity, Aly Martinez and M. Mabie came together for the first time to tell a story that was teeming with brilliant banter and heart-tugging in the best of ways.
The struggle was real for Shane and Maggie. The job or the relationship. Everything you’ve worked for or everything you dream of. Aly and Mo gave readers an addictive gem about two people who positively lit the pages on fire with their magical Friday-night meet-cute followed by a whirlwind weekend rich with possibility and promise, only to have those flames doused by the cold water of reality when they get to work the following Monday.
Aly Martinez and M. Mabie created some serious romcom magic in When The Walls Come Down. Endearing characters, crisp and clever writing, and a sweet, sexy romance combine for a perfectly charming, feel-good read that was just the kind of unputdownable entertainment I was hoping for. Five smooches from me for When The Walls Come Down by Aly Martinez and M. Mabie!

I’m going to need more from these two talented authors because one co-write is not enough. These two made the perfect read! Shane and Maggie were EVERYTHING! These two authors take us on a funny, witty and a beautiful love story ride. You won’t put the book down.
Shane is one of the funniest, most awkward <— in a good way character. He and Maggie hit it off and their love endures all their trials and tribulations. Maggie is perfect for Shane. When the sparks fly a beautiful love story is born. Highly recommended! One of my top favs of this year! *I was provided an advanced copy of this book by the authors in exchange for my honest and voluntary review.*
What a great story! It’s sweet and sexy! Warm and funny! “When The Walls Come Down” is a collaboration of two great authors, it is well written and the storyline flows smoothly. They did a wonderful job meshing supporting characters from different series and making this story fresh and exciting. I love Shane and Maggie, I love how they overcome their fears and are devoted to each other, despite having to compete for the same Job title. They are lovable and genuine. Their banter, pranks, and passion kept me captivated. It’s not a complicated story, it is one that will keep you wanting more. I Love the Epilogue it answered a lot of “but when ??” questions. When The Walls Come Down is a story that makes you happy just reading it.

The perfect combination of humor and steamy work place romance. I loved absolutely everything about this book!! The banter between Shane and Maggie is nothing short of brilliant. It’s so well written with an easy flow and attention capturing swoon-worthy romance.
I’m a huge Aly Martinez fan so when I was offered an ARC I jumped on it. I haven’t read anything by M. Mabie until now. Their writing styles meshed so well it’s hard to tell it’s even written by two different people. I’m going out to check out what else Mabie has written because I have a feeling I’m going to need to devour her back list.
I couldn’t get enough of this one and I honestly enjoyed every single page. I see this book soaring the top of the charts, especially for fun summer reads! I’m going out to recommend this book to all my friends right now!

What an outstanding and entertaining feel good story. This is the perfect lighthearted read people should be reading at a time like this.
I was swept up into this story and totally invested in the characters and their lives. Rooting for that HEA!!!
Shane and Maggie were amazing. I loved their banter and unique sense of humors. These two characters were totally made for each other…even despite their 9 year age difference. Both had some hurdles to overcome when it came to giving over their hearts, which lead to a slightly bumpy road but it was a fun journey to take with them.
I have loved all of Aly’s books and now that I have been introduced to M. Mabie , I’ll have to check out some of her solo books. These two have a great future of co-writing books. Their writing was effortless and seamless….Well done ladies!!!
If you are looking for that book that is perfect for a lazy Sunday or a great book to read at the beach….pick this one up, you won’t be sorry!!!
When you meet a woman at a bar, enjoy spending time with her, have an instant connection with her, and can see her as someone who can be part of your future – you would think that your HEA is just around the corner. The connection between Shane and Maggie should be one of happiness and possibilities. That is until they figure out that she has moved across the country to take his job. Can you fall in love when your job is on the line? Will Shane and Maggie find happiness in the wake of all the employment crap? It has been a while since I found a book that is not only heartwarming but made me laugh so many times. With every chapter both Maggie and Shane antics were a joy to read and it leads the reader routing for them to succeed. With wonderful characters and a storyline that put a smile I my face i highly recommend this book.
Man I love a good neighbor love story. Here is one amazing one- see more of my review here on YouTube~https://youtu.be/FZL8VZOWrjo
Looking for a meet cute romance? Well this is simple not, nope this is the most awkward meet to ever been written and it is simply the most perfect. Shane and Maggie with their awkward banter and fate written meeting this book was everything. From funny laugh out loud to big tears sadness, their romance is epic!
What with all the murdering going on and murder weapons being ordered on amazon it is no wonder how these two could keep their hands off each other.
Who knew that starting over would be as exciting and scary s these two start new adventures together on a path written by serendipity. Every minute spent on reading this book left me with a warm feeling of love and yes, envy! I want to embark on an adventure and cute meet my Shane, hmmmm, oh well! I love reading about it at any rate. Great story by two great authors. It is in my top 5 for 2020!

Three words: I LOVED THIS BOOK! When the Walls Come Down is the first collaboration between Aly Martinez and M. Mabie and it was so good. Melanie finally has the chance to move across of the country from her intrusive family; finally getting her first “adult” job after finishing college, where she spent most of time studying and working her butt-off. The weekend before she actually begins her new job, her sister convinces her to go out and try to have some fun. She ends-up at a restaurant where she meets a strange older man at the bar. Shane is upset that his brother-in-law told him that he is being “let go of” so that he (Shane) can broaden his horizons. Shane feels and instant connection to Melanie and convinces her to go out on a date with him the next day. They hit if off and even find-out they live right next door to each other. When Monday roles around, guess who Shane finds out has been hired as his replacement: Melanie. Thus begins the whole should we or shouldn’t we date. Even when both are fighting their feelings for each other, they can’t seem to walk away.
When the Walls Come Down was a roller coaster ride of emotions. I found myself on more than one occasion tearing-up. Melanie’s and Shane’s journey wasn’t an easy one but the story to get to their happy ending was amazing. I feel in love with these characters and I hope you will too.Aly Martinez M. Mabie
I love M. Mabie and Aly Martinez. I always devour their words. Put them together and BAM! A total must-read!
It’s a rom-com with a feel-good, happy-tears HEA.
WHEN THE WALLS COME DOWN is a STANDALONE Workplace/Neighbors/Frienemies to Lovers Romantic Comedy.
When the Walls Come Down is a great, easy going romantic read by M Mabie and Aly Martinez!!
First off let me just say how much I loved Shane and Maggie as a couple. Their story starts as both are at a crossroad in their lives. Maggie decides its time to branch out, leave the comfort of the family who love her dearly, and move across the country to start a new job. Little does she realize that the new job may have a complication attached to it.
Shane has worked at Bay Brewing his BIL’s company for the last several years in its media department. After going through a ruff time in his personal life his family helped him get back on his feet with a job at the company. Finally getting his confidence back, and enjoying the job, he’s blind sided when they decide to let him go from his position. While upset at the prospect of leaving, he knows Casey is doing it with the best of intentions.
Maggie and Shane meet the very first night she gets into town. The chemistry is instantaneous between them the moment they meet, and after spending the evening together they soon realize their neighbors!! But a major complication in this new relationship, will have them both questioning what their next move is.
I loved the banter between the two of them, it was lighthearted and playful, while the attraction between them both was simmering underneath it all. There’s some angst and drama in the story the couple has to navigate through, but it never overtakes the sweet and delightful story between the couple. The humor and whit between the couple is one of my favorite parts of the book. I’m so happy to get a wonderful story about two ordinary people falling in love, who’s story becomes extraordinary from two of my favorite authors. Well done ladies!!
Warm, funny, and beautiful! This would be a great book for a beach day….You know if the world was not under a pandemic… I absolutely am crazy about this book and so excited for these authors to get together so give us one of the best books in 2020!
M. Mabie and Aly Martinez did make all my walls come down and fall in love head over heels with Shane and Maggie! When the Walls Come Down made me smile and laugh like crazy. The best way to describe this witty, sexy and warm story is- IT FELT SO GOOD!
Maggie Light is the baby of her family. And she is taking a big risk to relocate to a new city with a new job because she doesn’t want to regret not exploring enough before she settles down. And on the first day, she meets a very interesting guy in the local bar. Shane has grown very comfortable in his job as marketing manager in Bay Brewing company owned by his sister and brother in law. And now they are trying to kick him out and push him to do something with his stagnant life. And Maggie seemed the perfect choice. Little did they know fate has a cruel joke in store for them. It turns out that they are neighbours AND Maggie was hired for the job Shane is doing.
I love everything about this story. Shane and Maggie are just fabulous. Maggie is a lot younger and she is emotional and sensitive. She loves her independence and she has this quirky sense of humor. She has ample passion for both work and Shane but she won’t let her man derail her plans for her career. Shane is just amazing. I mean mouth watering, swoonworthy, heartbreaking and sinfully sweet kind of amazing. He has a wicked way of saying the most obnoxious yet endearing and funny thing. He is hard working. He cares for Maggi and is attentive to every tiny detail. They have this easy and totally inflammable chemistry from the beginning. I thoroughly enjoyed their playful ribbing and hot as sin encounters. They are at different phases of their lives with different needs. And their professional life collided more than often. It was a stormy ride but a beautiful one too!
When The Walls Come Down was pure joy and entertainment. M. Mabie and Aly Martinez gave me a sweet, sexy and heartwarming rom com and I AM IN LOVE!
