The first three books in the When the Wallflowers were Wicked are together in one box set… fashionable society inspires Verity to seek out a different way of life—a way she believes will bring her happiness, comfort and security—becoming the mistress of a powerful man.
Thomas Manfred, Marquess of Landsbury, isn’t looking for a biddable woman to warm his bed. His fortunes lie on the brink of ruin, so he needs a wealthy wife, and Lady Charlotte Grey, darling of the ton, seems to be his only answer. But he cannot forget the adorable, amusing, and naïve young beauty who humiliated herself at Almack’s. And when Verity shows up on his doorstep, demanding he take her as his mistress as amends for the part he played in her ruin, he simply cannot resist the temptation.
But Lady Charlotte isn’t willing to give up her position at Thomas’s side or share his attentions with anyone. Her acid tongue could ruin Verity’s reputation even more thoroughly than it has already been destroyed…unless fate intervenes.
THE INCORRIGIBLE COURTESAN
The Disaster at Almack’s was the beginning of the end for Miss Honor Barnes, even though her part in it was small. With her reputation in tatters, she must look for ways to secure her comfort and safety…which is where wealthy tradesman, Sebastian Boothe, comes in. And if it means a daring gamble at the card table to win her way into his bed, it’s a chance she’s willing to take.
Sebastian is just enough of a rake to bow to Honor’s wicked wishes, but he has more than fun on his mind. His entire fortune is in danger, thanks to the underhanded machinations of Lord James Grey. With time running out to prove he is the rightful owner of the profits of his recent trade mission to India, he is faced with the impossible unfairness of a commoner challenging the nobility.
But Sebastian has an ace in his corner in the form of Honor and her skills. Together, they can set a trap to take down the most notorious cheat in the ton…if Sebastian can learn to trust Honor first.
THE DELECTABLE TART
Life is decidedly unfair for Miss Sophie Barnes. After her sisters’ falls from grace, she has been left without friends, without a place in society, and without the first clue what to do with her life. All respectable paths are closed to her, but she still wants to make a name for herself instead of feeling invisible in her own skin. And as it turns out, being seen in nothing but her skin might be the solution she’s been looking for.
Jonathan Foster is the illegitimate son of a sugar plantation owner, and though running his father’s business in London has made him wealthy, his true calling is as a pastry chef and confectioner. When he meets Sophie, he sees her as the perfect canvas for his art and the perfect companion for his life. Ambition has never tasted so good.
But when a familiar villain is discovered to be selling secrets to French pirates, Sophie and Jonathan must stretch their delicious new alliance to do more than just entertain the members of the ton who once turned their backs on Sophie, they must catch the spies and see them brought to justice.

THE ACCIDENTAL MISTRESS:
This is a sexy funny hysterical romance. I just fell in love with Verity. She is everything innocent, caring, adventurous and loving. I had to laugh at some of the dialogue it was just too funny. Thomas is a great guy. Near destitute his hopes were on the return of a ship with his cargo. But everyday became bleaker and bleaker. Verity brought sunshine, laughter and happiness into his life. I cracked up laughing at one of the scenes where Verity and her two sisters were at breakfast and had sausage. If you get my meaning. Everything Verity learned from Thomas she shared with her sisters. This is a quick read and fun. I do recommend it.
THE INCORRIGIBLE COURTESAN:
An extremely satisfying read. From page one till the end I was totally engrossed in the story. The chemistry between Honor and Sebastian is off the charts. HOT, HOT, HOT. The plot of Honor’s uncertain life lies with Sebastian. She is trying to secure her future after being given the direct cut from polite society. Sebastian does not disappoint. The subplot is of Sebastian’s business. A Lord Grey is trying to swindle him out of a fortune. Sebastian will not stand by and let it happen. What is funny is that Honor becomes a sleuth in order to help Sebastian whether he likes it or not. He needs her and she does not disappoint. I recommend reading book one so that this book (book two) makes more sense. This is a quick and enjoyable read and I do recommend it.
THE DELECTABLE TART:
What a sweet steamy romance filled with confectionery delights. This story although not long, is filled with just the right amount of action, excitement, willing curious naivete, sexy, sexy romps and a quick but satisfying romance. I adored Sophia’s curiosity in living life to the fullest; to live outside of the strict ton norms. Seeing how her two older sisters fared with their exploration in the carnal world and it led to love and marriage this gave Sophia the courage to try new things. She met Jonathan at her sister’s wedding reception. He was the creative genius behind the erotic pastry at the reception. I applaud the author Merry Farmer for introducing a bi-racial character in Jonathan. He is the son of a black Jamaican slave and a white English Lord. He was loved by his father and educated. He now ran his father’s business interests in London and in the evenings, he indulged in his personal passion of becoming the next great confectioner renown in England and beyond. Beyond the romance there was intrigue and some danger. They became involved in an international treasonous affair of spies from France getting shipping information from a titled Lord. A thrilling adventure. At the end it had all three sisters together and the author tied up all the loose ends quite nicely. A very satisfying read and I do highly recommend it.
I received an Advanced Readers Copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
The first thing that came to mind when I sat down to write my review is that this author can write!
She has a basic theme to this series (so far) and though each story can be read as a stand-alone, there are so many things tying them into each other that I found myself being drawn in as if I were part of this interesting family and living within them and their lives and their hearts.
These are three amazing and very readable romances with very ‘hot’ themes, yet each is its own remarkable story.
I loved all the characters, the good ones and the really evil ones too while each story had me enthralled and kept me totally entertained.
Thanks, Merry Farmer, for supplying the free boxset to ‘uplift our souls’ during this very serious time of the Covid-19 world-wide lockdown. It has certainly lifted my spirits for a while.
My voluntary and unbiased review is recorded above.
A bit too immoral for me
Didn’t really like the book. It was difficult to get through it. I would not recommend wasting your money on this one.
I was really disappointed with this. I was looking forward to tales of humorous misadventures of three sisters in a world they were totally unsuited for.I
Starts out cute but turns way too slutty for my taste. Language seemed more for affect than to carry the story.
i recommend it as a porn book.
