I see dead people, well okay not me but our h does. When the town’s rich girl is missing then turns up to the h to get her help things change. All of her life people have thought she was strange but it’s something she has no control over and now it’s put her right in the middle of a murder investigation. This is my first read by this author and I totally enjoyed it. Who knew that ghost can actually become likable? It’s not all $hits and giggles but it does help that the officer she works with is a good guy. This is a clean read with hints of possible romance and I can’t be more thrilled that the author didn’t feel the need to take us there. It’s a great suspense, with thrills and chills and great characters. I can’t wait to read more of this author’s work.

Wow! What a great read!
Carolina has seen spirits all her life, had always been called crazy. One day she wakes up to the ghost of a person she knows, Mallory, she looks clearer than anyone Carolina had seen before. Mallory had gone missing, now she wanted Carolina’s help to get the police to recover her body. Carolina had been known for years as the town’s weirdo because she was always talking to the dead, but it looked like she was talking to herself. When she stopped into the station to tell them what she knows they wanted to know her off, but the special detective wants to hear what she has to say.
Alyssa Breck did a beautiful job of winding it all together, from explaining how the dark shadows feed off of energy to Carolina’s special abilities. This was an easy read with much speculation, suspense, weird and a possible romance. Kudos

Not my usual genre, but so glad I selected this book. Carolina sees dead people, but usually strangers, until a girl who made her life hell at school shows up….askimg Carolina to help her solve her murder. There is only one big problem….no one knows Mallory is dead yet, and Carolina is known in town as the weird girl to talks to herself.
Help come in the delicious shape of Nathan, a state detective, who quickly realises that the only real leads come through Carolina, but can he solve it before Carolina becomes the next victim?

Carolina Sinclair is not your average twenty-something year old. She lives in a house filled with shadows that crawl up the walls and dead people calling on her with hopes that she can guide them to the light. When Mallory Kramer shows up on her door, Carolina knows that she is in for more than she is looking for. Not only is Mallory newly deceased after being killed by a serial killer, but she also is the one person from Carolina’s childhood that knew how to torture and bully Carolina to no end.
Mallory as always is the center of attention and she forces Carolina to report to the police where her body has been buried. Carolina knows that this will make her prime suspect number one, but she soon works her way into detective Nathan Claiborne’s good graces and has him convinced that he must rely on her information to track down a serial killer. Somehow Carolina’s involvement in the case draws the attention of the killer and he soon believes she is his salvation.
This paranormal mystery is filled with lots of thrills, chills, adventure, and suspense. I found the best parts were the newly formed kinship between Mallory and Carolina, the trust and understanding by Nathan, the innocence of Carolina, and the intensity of finding the killer before he strikes again.

Carolina suffered the typical fate of a medium. People tend to think that people who talk to others they cannot see are mentally ill.
Sometimes, the distinctions between the living and the dead are difficult for those who see to make between the living and the dead.
Carolina sees not only the dead, who pass into the light.
She sees the Shadows. She knows somehow that the Shadows eat energy, but has not seen it happen.
Her once friend, and later tormentor, Mallory becomes a victim of a twisted man, and appears to Carolina for help.
An odd friendship develops between the two.
Read on to find out if they can help State Patrol Detective Nathan catch the killer in time to save Carolina and any other victims – and if she falls to his rape, or falls to the shadows.
A chilling adventure!
